After asking the staff if our seats would be secured while we went to lunch and the answer was a big yes that our preferred seats were saved. We come back from lunch to find our seats taken. We asked the staff and basically were told sorry we have to go somewhere else. Sucks to have something like this dampen such a great vacation spot. It's only day one. Who knows what kinda stuff might happen. I'd highly recommend you resolve this issue as I don't see myself coming back here. Cheers UPDATE: I happened to run in to our original friend Freddy and he completely helped turn it all around. We spent basically our entire vacation at the Jungle pool! Freddy is an absolutely amazing asset! Eduardo, Pedro and Arturo as well as Jaime all helped to make our stay incredible! Yes we had something unfortunate happen but what matters is how it is addressed and this resort stepped up to the plate and hit a home run! Belen was our concierge and she was amazing in helping me make my girlfriend's birthday one to remember!!

We booked this trip through Costco Travel and chose the all-inclusive package, which specifically…read moreincluded gratuities. We paid approximately $17,000 for this vacation, so it was disappointing that throughout the resort there were several instances where staff seemed to be expecting additional tips, creating an awkward atmosphere. I understand that some employees may not have known our package included gratuities, but it still left us feeling uncomfortable. We have previously stayed at Secrets Akumal and Secrets The Vine, and both experiences were exceptional. We love the Secrets brand and were excited to try this property. The resort itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and very clean. Some staff members were genuinely friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the level of service was inconsistent throughout our stay, and we encountered multiple situations where staff members were unhelpful, unfriendly, or simply rude. As Preferred Club guests, we checked in through the Preferred Lounge. One of our rooms had a significant mosquito problem. When I asked the Preferred concierge if anything could be done, I was repeatedly told there was nothing they could do. Only after I continued to press the issue was I told the room could be fumigated. The concierge took down the requested date and time, but when we followed up the next day, no one had any record of the request, and we had to start the process all over again. The food experience was also inconsistent. Our first dinner at El Patio was excellent, but when we returned another evening, much of the food was overcooked and dry. One of the cocktails we ordered was noticeably missing sweetness. We knew this because we had been ordering the same drink throughout the resort. When we politely mentioned it to our server, he repeatedly insisted nothing was wrong with it. My husband suggested it might simply need more syrup. Instead of taking the drink back to have it corrected, the server brought a bottle of syrup to the table. His demeanor throughout the interaction was cold and dismissive. Another disappointing experience occurred on our final morning. My parents went to Market Café for breakfast by themselves and sat patiently for quite some time without anyone taking their drink order. My mother eventually approached a server to ask for assistance. That employee spoke with the server assigned to their section, but no one ever came to the table. My mother had to seek help a second time before receiving service. Ironically, near the end of the meal, the assigned server finally appeared and asked how everything was. The entire situation felt bizarre and completely avoidable. These experiences were surprising because they are not what we have come to expect from the Secrets brand or from a five-star resort. We don't know whether the service issues were related to the fact that gratuities were already included in our package or if there were other factors involved. We would have gladly tipped additional staff members for exceptional service if gratuities had not already been included. While the property itself is beautiful, the inconsistent service significantly impacted our overall experience. Unfortunately, based on this stay, we would not return to this resort.

Hello all, We spent 5 nights at the Dreams Vista Cancun Golf…read more& Spa Resort. Overall, our experience was OK--not bad, but certainly not outstanding. While the resort offered a decent package of restaurants and services, it didn't quite meet our expectations based on previous stays at other all-inclusive locations. If you're considering this resort and don't have much prior information, it's best to manage your expectations. Some reviews come from guests experiencing all-inclusives for the first time, so their reference points may differ. Here's a summary: The real standout here was the staff--they were consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. We genuinely enjoyed interacting with them. Bar service was prompt, and the drinks were good. The staff also did an excellent job keeping the property and beach areas clean and inviting. For staff alone, I would give them 5 stars (out of 5). If you're hoping to play golf at the nearby course, keep in mind that feedback from other guests indicates the course was in poor condition and not recommended. While I didn't play myself, a group we spoke with chose to book elsewhere after their experience. Note that the golf course is not managed by the resort, so check detailed reviews prior to booking a round. There are other options in the area. Overall, based on a golfer's perspective: 2 stars. The location works well enough, but don't expect to find much within walking distance for exploring. If you want to see more of the area, you'll likely need to rely on Uber or a cab. I did walk around and enjoyed learning about the local culture, though it turned into a 10-mile trek. Overall: This part is subjective. No rating. The biggest letdown was the restaurant dining. While we're not picky eaters, we do appreciate good food. The buffet offered plenty of choices, so you'll likely find something suitable for adults and kids alike. I had breakfast there daily and ate dinner a couple of times. It was fine--not memorable, but not disappointing either. Once again, the staff was great. Just keep expectations realistic for buffet dining. Overall: 4 stars Restaurants. We tried both the Asian and Italian restaurants. The Asian restaurant was acceptable--the food matched our expectations, but nothing stood out as exceptional. Our friends paid extra for the grill table (steak and lobster for $25), but they regretted the expense, feeling it wasn't worth the additional cost. Overall: 3.5 stars (excluding the grill table) The Italian restaurant was a real disappointment for us. The service was excellent, and our server was attentive and well-deserving of a generous tip. The basics--salad, bread, calamari, and included wines--were fine. However, the beef entrée I ordered was so poor in both taste and presentation that I couldn't tell what cut it was, or even if it was real beef. My friends tried it and agreed it tasted like a processed meat product rather than actual beef. The other dishes were just OK; nothing impressed us. Overall: 2 stars.

There are pros and cons to this resort. I think the experience really is per person/family because…read morelots of reviews seem to differ. I liked my stay in the beginning, but closer to the end I wasn't so impressed. Leading up, their Instagram page and the online website really hype up the place. We chose this location for our Babymoon with our first child (1.5 yrs old). I'm 5 months pregnant so the variety of food, pools, and fun for little one was a big appeal. Resort & staff: The resort is beautiful and clean, and the staff are very friendly. But some staff don't seem to know what's going on or how to help, while others are going through the motions. When we asked the concierge for directions to the Kids Club, she sent us to "PB"/lower level where the staff only was. This happened a lot as we saw many other guests saying the same thing "she told us to come to PB". Another staff member didn't know how to get to the Kids Club even though it was located right behind the kids water, a few steps away from where he was working. Kids & teen club: The activities and shows are really only worth it if your child is age 3 and up. You can't take your 1 or 2 year old into the clubs unless it's during family time, which are in the mornings during certain time. The one time we were able to go, no one was there. They were at the kids water park instead. Activities: On the app, they have a lot going on. But nothing actually goes on. Activities run behind schedule and the events you'd actually want to go to don't start until late at night. This didn't work for us most of the time but we just did some later naps for our babe to stay up late. The Circus and Magic shows seem to be the highlight be we're only available during the week. Other days the shows we planned to go to would be canceled morning of, and there would only be DJ's or karaoke. Food: A good variety but everything is pretty meh. Great for kids though as there is something for everyone! Check the app as certain restaurants are closed and others open. Dress code is semi strict for men. Reservations for Hibachi are a must! App can be finicky. Best eats for us: Fusion and Tres Colores Pool: All pools were very kid friendly, especially Mermaid. There was a little "beach" area to walk in and the alternative side had a little splash pool. There were splash pad areas at both pools. Mermaid pool appeared to have the younger kids while Sealegs had more teens and adults. Staff become a lot more friendly if you tip. Room: We had the Junior Suite? At the main building on level 4. There was a mini leak above the fan that we called in and put a towel down. They seemed to have "checked it out" because the towel was gone but it wasn't patched and it continued to drip the rest of our stay. We were worried because it was right above where we put our toddlers crib. 2 nights before checkout there was another leak by the A/C system or whatever it is, right in front of the bathroom door. The leak was spontaneous but a lot of water poured out. We called it in again and they said they would "check it out" again. We had to put 2 big towel on the ground and someone definitely checked it out because they just pushed the towels to the side. No patch work was done and it continued to pour. When I woke up at 5:00 am there was water from the bathroom door all the way to where the end of the closet was. As a 5 month pregnant lady, stepping in this and the potential to slip is absolutely upsetting. Even more upsetting that we made them aware of our room's problems 3x but they made no effort to fix it or to potentially put us in another room. We told them again at check-out and our concierge seemed to already be aware of where the leak was, and just apologized. Nothing more. Bali Beds: We reserved a Sealegs Bali Bed before our arrival. Keep your receipts! At check-out they tried to say we owed them an extra charge of $150. We showed our email and they had to call someone to double check. Took about 15 minutes. At the end of the day it is a tourist destination, so they do what they can. We spoke to some other families (with kids ages 5 and older) who said they love it here and have come back. For me, I personally wouldn't recommend and would try a different resort.

The resort was clean (very clean), things worked as intended, the staff was EXTREMELY friendly and very helpful, and the food was good! It always helps when you're in Mexico and you get good weather (which we did) but these folks had the grounds and resort, itself, firing on all cylinders. My down-rankings were in the lack of daily engagement and night-time activities. Besides a massive party thrown for the superbowl, I didn't notice any nighttime activites (could be my fault for not looking into it more) and the daily activities existed but the staff didn't really try very hard to pull people "into the fight", if you will. Having said that, these luxuries that I've seen at other brands did not take away from the wonderful experience that my friends and I had!

To be honest, we can't imagine spending New Year's Eve anywhere else. Both times have been absolutely fantastic; the team didn't skip a beat. The resort is stunning and impeccably maintained, but what truly makes this place a gem is its incredible team and vibrant atmosphere. Entertainment The entertainment is top-notch, with a variety of high-energy performances each night. We were absolutely blown away by the Freddie Mercury tribute act. The resemblance was uncanny, and his energy was simply amazing--he had the whole place rocking! It's shows like that that make the evenings so memorable. The Heart of the Resort: The Staff As wonderful as the resort itself is, the staff are the real reason we started planning our next trip back before we even left. They made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived and are the key to the entire experience. We spent most of our days at the Excellence Club pool, and our waiter, Floricel, was a true standout. He was wildly attentive and responsive, ensuring our glasses were never empty. He didn't just take orders; he helped us discover the most incredible new drinks and his fun, engaging personality truly made our days by the pool so much more enjoyable. Our concierges, Edgar and David, were unbelievably helpful. From the moment we arrived, they helped us navigate our time at the resort, making reservations and ensuring every detail was handled. Having a dedicated concierge team like them is so important; they remove all the stress of planning and make you feel completely prioritized and cared for throughout your entire stay. We truly felt like their only guests. We also have to give a shout-out to Cesar at the lobby bar. We were so impressed that he recognized us from our previous trip, and of course, we remembered him! He is exceptionally attentive, and man, that guy is fast. He's a true professional. Last but certainly not least, a special mention goes to the man running the pizza oven at the main pool. He deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for his craft. He was just killing it all day, every day, serving up perfect pizzas with a smile. It's this level of service and genuine warmth from the staff that makes Excellence Playa Mujeres feel like a home away from home. We came back home so refreshed and can't wait to return.

We were also told that the lobster house does not serve lobster tails from march to June due to them being out of season. The entertainment was also enjoyable, with live music, themed shows, and fun evening activities that kept the resort lively. Our favorite show was the legends show! They have many pools to choose from with some being more calm and others more being more social. We spent a lot of time at main pool 1, and johnatan was an amazing bartender! I especially loved the beach here, it was very swimmable and the water was soo clear. I would easily give this resort 5 stars and would return in the future.

When you rent one long term, they will tell you to come back every three days for gas (included). Pro tip: Always bring your most recent expired license to Mexico to leave with the golf cart company. That way, if they/you lose it, it's really not the end of the world. I'm not admitting that I may or may not have done that but it is a really good idea. Opens at 9am and closes at 7pm. If you are leaving Isla before 9am, you may need to drop off the cart the night before to get your drivers license (current or expired) returned. Just like ANY rental vehicle, I always suggest taking a before/after video of your vehicle to prove damages if it were to come back on you later. It's just smart!!! DRIVING INFO: As far as Isla Mujeres parking goes, you can park anywhere the curb is yellow. You cannot park anywhere the curb is red. Many of the roads have speed bumps marked by TOPAS signs. Look for them! I'm not admitting I locked up the brakes to slow down but trust me, you'll only make the mistake of going over one at full-speed a time or two before you really start paying attention. Not all of them are marked clearly. Some streets in the business district are one way. Pay attention. As I said above, I'm not admitting I may or may not have messed that up as well and got yelled at by a local señorita. Bottom line - Convenient to the ferry for drop off and pick up. Opens at 9AM.
