I hosted my 40th birthday celebration at Festivál Café, and it exceeded every expectation. From the very beginning, Tyler made the planning process effortless. He guided me through the menu selection, coordinated every detail, and was incredibly responsive throughout. One of my favorite touches was that they designed custom menus to match my cake and party favors, making the whole event feel beautifully personalized. We had a private section of the restaurant, which was perfect for celebrating with family and friends. The evening began with a fantastic cocktail hour featuring a great selection of specialty beverages, including excellent mocktails, so everyone had something to enjoy. Every bite of food was exceptional--from the passed flatbreads and family-style starters to the outstanding entrées. After dinner, the team not only cut and served our birthday cake but also brought out incredible desserts for the table. The Vanilla Bourbon French Toast and NY Apple Tarte Tatin were both unforgettable and the perfect ending to the meal before everyone lingered over coffee and conversation. The level of hospitality, attention to detail, and genuine care from the entire team made the night feel truly special. If you're looking for a venue for a birthday, bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, or any private event, I couldn't recommend Festivál Café more highly. Came here with a few friends because we wanted to watch the Knicks game (would not recommend for watching games because they're not really configured for that. They have 1 TV that wasn't visible from about half the restaurant) Some of us got cocktails which were all refreshing and great! We also got some fries which for price, were a lot of fries. Stopped by Festival Cafe for happy hour with some coworkers! While I didn't get to try too many things I liked how it still felt very warm and cozy with the decor, lights, and friendly smiles from staff! The ginger and turmeric mule I got was pretty solid. It wasn't crazy but had a good blend of initial ginger flavors followed by the bitter turmeric and alcohol. For snacks, we split the mushroom flatbread which featured a good amount of well seasoned mushrooms! I liked how the citrus lemon taste from the whipped ricotta was subtle but definitely present. Flatbreas itself was crispy when still warm and not too dry or hard with the other ingredients. There was a good amount of tables and bar space. Again staff were friendly and the fairy lights made it feel super cozy. I would def come back to check out their other drinks or mixology classes! read more

The salad was perfect; apples crisp and ice cold paired with the warm butternut squash made a nice combination. As for the fries, they were just, ok but piping hot; the rosemary was too mild. All in all it was a decent meal with good music selection. The aesthetics with the menu hanging on clipboards when you walk in was eye catching. Our waiter was fine. Came here with a reservation with some friends to use the "Cheers to Spring" booklet where you redeem your booklet for a free cocktail when you purchase $15 of food. We walk in, are seated promptly, and order drinks within 10 minutes. This is by far the fastest service all night. It takes them at least 15 more minutes to put in the food order, then over an hour to bring out the food. When we asked if the food was coming out, around the hour mark, they said "it's coming right now," without apology or even acknowledgment that it took so long. The food itself was good, the chicken sandwich was tasty. However, everything here seemed overpriced, especially due to the eclectic vibe. My friend ordered a side of fries that was $14 for a measly amount. The fries were also very over salted, in my opinion. Ambiance is a little weird here, it seems like the decor doesn't really know where it's going, and I still can't describe the vibe/genre of restaurant. The entire time, there was a little girl who was playing on a high top bar chair with no supervision. We were really the only table within eyeshot of her. We realized later it was a waiter's kid, who came to check on her intermittently, but it was pretty shocking to see an unsupervised child in a NYC restaurant. I was distracted the whole time because I was worried about the child, which was I was right to do, because she fell off the bar seat and could have hit her head badly. After the wait, the weirdness, and the prices, we finally get the bill, and it isn't itemized and seems high. My friend is assured that the drinks are taken off, but when we request the itemized bill, the drinks are still on there. I definitely would have complained if it wasn't for the larger group that was with me at this restaurant. The service was very poor and the restaurant had no business charging what they did for a mediocre experience at best. read more

This place is alot smaller than I expected. Came for brunch last week was not busy at all. Guess I did not really need a reservation. The menu was a bit odd as it is on a clipboard and there is a back and front to it. Our waiter was nice and took my food allergies into consideration but was a bit hard to understand him. our drinks were good... we got to eat : the pickles which were pretty good, and the egg sandwich. The cheese on mine was a bit more melted I think than my friends. We also got the chips as starters. I would come back here to try more of the cocktails and sit at the nice bar area they have. Cute spot although people kept almost tripping over the step in the middle of the restaurant (you might want to put red tape on that) I had the BLAT ($22) and my friend had their chicken sandwich ($24). Very average food, with above average prices. Service was also OK. Had to ask for more water and the waiter tried to clear the plate as I was actively eating a chip... so just not really paying any real attention. read more

Check Out This Hidden Gem I know the locals will probably be upset with my shining light on their spot but it MUST be shared. I stopped by Festival Cafe for their dinner service and OMG... the FLAVOR!! My friend who was a little hesitant about trying certain things even had a taste and could not stop going in for more. Literally EVERY SINGLE PLATE that I received was absolutely delicious. Their Farm-to Table Menus meant everything came out fresh and hot (it's sad that I have to emphasize that as a + now lol) and the service was incredible. I literally have no complaints Our server was friendly and fun and I love when the owner is on site and we get to hear a bit about his vision. Make sure you stop by Sunday evenings for a live Jazz performance. Food was delicious! We shared the fried chicken, shrimp with paella, and sweet potato fries. Our waiter, Dylan, was super friendly and did a great job. The bartender was also super friendly. I got the pomegranate sour special drink, which I thought was a little small and unimpressive for the high price. The only real negative (which is why I'm not giving it 5 stars) was when we went to order dessert and was told that the kitchen was closed. It wasn't even 9:30pm yet. Since it was our wedding anniversary, it was a little bit of a bummer. Dylan was super apologetic, but we did wonder why the kitchen closed like that while we, and other tables, were still eating our main dishes. I was in the neighborhood and stumbled across Festival Cafe. I'm so glad that I gave it a try! There's outdoor and indoor seating not to mention a wide variety of art decor. The wait staff were friendly and welcoming. There were a variety of lunch specials to choose from (I opted for the sliders). The sliders tasted great! When here, you should definitely try the Elderflower 75, it's their remix of the traditional Elderflower cocktail. It's a great place to work remotely or catch up with friends. I came here to meet up with a date, which I have to say, is a great place to meet up with someone to have a conversation. However, the aeperol spritz didn't taste like it had any alcohol in it. We had gone here to get some pre-drinks for a friends birthday and had made reservations. On a Thursday evening at 6:30 pm, this place was relatively busy and we as we entered were welcomed to some really good live jazz music! The ambiance is that of a very cozy winter bar, so we'll definitely visit during winter to get some of their excellently mixed cocktails. For snacks, we got a few flatbreads which were absolutely delicious. I was slightly disappointed with my flatbread when I bit into a piece of plastic (what looked like an accidental piece of a plastic box). I lost my apatite after that sadly, but until then, enjoyed every bite of a very flavorful Courgette ($20) and a very delicious fig based flatbread that I cannot remember the name of. Service overall was absolutely fantastic and they have a very attentive staff. Will definitely visit again the winter to enjoy some fine cocktails and live Jazz music! read more

My husband and I wanted to come and support them after being closed for some time. They just opened after being closed for a month after a robbery. So, I understand that they are under financial strain. But so does every other restaurant in the world. So I'm not quite sure why it's necessary for them to charge a "10% Covid Occupancy Fee". I've been out to many restaurants during this pandemic and this is the 1st time I've seen a fee like this. Maybe if they added it to seat larger groups, but we were only a party of 2. We went during Happy Hour thinking we would save a little money being their prices are pretty high compared to some other spots in the area. With 3 cocktails, 1 beer, a dozen ($2) oysters and a flatbread, our bill came out to $129?! I would expect that bill if we went with other people, not for the 2 of us. It turns out that the price for the cocktails on the menu you scan isn't the same as what they're charging. So each HH cocktail was $15. They were tasty, but not the greatest. The "You're My Boy Blue" is basically a glass full of crushed ice. I understand times are tough and I really don't enjoy giving this place a 3 star review. But there are better, more affordable places in the area. read more

Ohhhh man. Festival Cafe is a treat for cocktails, coffee, pastries, and small plates. We came for drinks and snacks. The cocktails are refreshing and a main attraction. The pastries are impressive. Not sure if they make them in house, but the cruffin was crispy, buttery, warmed, and filled with a yummy seasonal fruit. The seaweed tots are equally crispy and a delight. Highly recommend! So excited that this cafe/bar has finally opened! Cafe Festival has a mixture of signature cocktails as well as a cafe with many options for coffee (in their morning/afternoon menu). Since it was noon on a Saturday we opted to get nitro cold brew coffees and the turkey quiche and ham and cheese croissant. The nitro cold brew was excellent and had the perfect amount of foam on top, definitely top notch coffee! Both the croissant and quiche were warmed before being served and were excellent. This cafe has a "farm to bar" theme so the food was delicious. There was plenty of outdoor seating available which was perfect for social distancing and people watching. There was a sign outside for an oyster happy hour during the week so I will definitely be back to try some of their more savory evening food options! read more

A dinner FESTIVÁL! They just opened a week ago... a couple of minor kinks to work out but other than that, pretty good stuff here and the overall vibe is nice. Cocktails: Festival markets themselves as "NYC's only farm-to-bar" cocktail experience and the only once in the city at that - check out their website and it's very cocktail-focused. I was expecting incredible cocktails, unfortunately I have to say, we were slightly disappointed. Yes, the cocktails were fair and a step above your average, but there was just something that needed that extra added elevated push. The presentation was good, but the flavors and execution were both slightly lacking. Almost as if the cocktails were heavy and almost dense if that makes sense. Overall, we ordered a Last Word, a Churchill Downs, a Doc Brown and 3 Lust's. Dinner: The food was delicious, I must say. We ordered the one dozen oysters, Flatbread Melanzana ... its got a little heat to it so avoid if that not your thing. We also ordered the Steak Tartare which was delicious and the Beef Short Rib Pie... so good! Decor: Here's where Festival excels. Their style is great; are the details and added touches sustainable over the long term? Probably not, but they're a new restaurant trying to make their mark and they're killing it with style. The bar is beautiful and by the looks of it, just sitting there in that ambiance, makes everything better. All utensils appear to be maybe a wood/bamboo combo of sorts. The menus are cute on top of gold clipboards and all tables have a little arrangement of fresh flowers. Bathroom is cute, well decorated and (for the time being) have Nest hand-soap. Service: The staff is very nice and accommodating. There were a couple of minor inconsistencies but again, nothing that's going to break them. *Make a reservation *A very good amount of outdoor, sidewalk seating *Staff wears masks and adheres to COVID guidelines All in all, definitely give this place a shot.
