It's only a block away from my apartment so I've been here a few times. This is my go to place for won ton soup when I'm sick. For only about $20 you get two huge take out containers of soup. Easily 4 servings.

I love this place! It's great to get traditional Chinese food. We also order their takeout occasionally and that's been great too. Some of my favorites dishes include their steamed fish, stir fry eggplant, and spicy beef tendon . I also like their salt and pepper tofu, yang zhou fried rice, grilled cumin lamb skewers, egg drop soup. My boyfriend likes their hong shao rou, and the The service is good. I don't feel like we ever wait too long to order or get the bill. The wait staff speaks both English and Chinese so if you prefer speaking in Chinese there's always that option. The interior is nice. It feels like a traditional fancy Chinese restaurant. They have pretty light fixtures and sculptures on the wall. We usually sit in one of the booths, but they also have family-style seating in the back (big round tables with a lazy Susan). Parking: The parking lot's pretty small in the back but we usually manage to find a spot. If not, Menlo Park downtown has a lot of free parking lots you can park at and then walk over

WOW do not listen to any of these negative reviews, the food here is the best of the best. I've ordered this restaurant from doordash and the food was usually pretty good but prices were a bit higher, but I actually came here one day to eat with a few other friends. The price is probably the best in the Bay Area, 5 people left come pls tell full for $140 which is insane considering how much we ordered (some stuff not pictured). It's such a pretty restaurant and the food was top notch, it tasted so much better fresh than delivered. Definitely gonna come here again, so happy I ate dinner here

Lunch special on delivery app was great! Super generous portion for what you pay for. The lunch special came with the option of fried rice, chow mein at no additional cost + a soup!

As the owner of the company herself, to treat your customers the way we got treated was completely unacceptable. And I know we will not be the only ones getting treated like this especially because you are not denying you are making excuses. Not once did you apologize or make us feel comfortable. I believe you are only apologizing now due to the review I have written. The derogatory remarks you made toward us, the attitude and such rudeness we experienced should never be accepted. You were not accommodating. We were grateful for the switch in one of the plates BUT you went ahead and tried to swindle your way in making us pay more at the end. As for tipping, We had been going there for years and have always always always given a good tip. Especially each time we have went to your restaurant we were in a group of 8-10+. In the past we got charged a service fee AND we always added an additional tip. If you really knew that and recognized us you'd know that statement is false. But I understand that is the only thing you can say at the moment. To be demanding us to pay a "suggested tip" - noticing the word suggested and yelling at your customers about having to leave one is absolutely unacceptable. You are even accepting you charged us a 18% tip due to consistent no tip in the past. Which is completely false BUT even to set the example for other customers you are stating that just because a customer doesn't choose to pay a tip (maybe due to financial reasons or their experience or etc.) that they can expect an 18% service charge no matter the size of the party the next time they visit your restaurant ?? You're enforcing a service charge because customers don't choose to tip? WOW!!! Im sorry but serving people, accommodating people and feeding people is your job. That is the purpose of your restaurant. The tipping and "fairness" shouldn't apply when you are needing to accommodate your customers. I understand where you are coming from but it's called suggested for a reason.

We tried this restaurant after hearing about it on Nextdoor. We've had a hard time finding an Asian restaurant that we love after losing our favorite last year. Before we even ate, we were impressed - the menu is astonishingly big, the ordering online was easy, the communication about our order was well done and the packing of our food was better than any others we've picked up from other restaurants. We tried the potstickers (excellent, but needed more spice in the filling); green onion pancakes (nicely done if a bit oily; the dry green beans - excellent; the hot and sour soup - excellent; the cold noodle salad - loved it; Chinese chicken salad - also excellent. The steamed bun was ok. Clearly we will be going back.

We enjoyed every dish! The chongqin spicy noodles, the salt and pepper shrimps, the sizzling cumin lamb, the fish in chili oil. Yum yum yum! We ordered the hottest version but it was not too spicy for us - it was very flavorful. The fresh cut red chillies they give you, was really spicy - the red bean spicy sauce was just right. We enjoyed the cool beers with the spicy food. It's a unique ambience for a Univ Ave restaurant- it's just a Chinese kitchen serving good food - like you came to a home and got served really well. Will come back again with more family members. Ps: another surprising thing - we were a party of 6 and they didn't automatically charge us the tip - I took care of them - because I was super satisfied and happy with my meal!

This is probably the only Chinese restaurant around here with such an inviting outdoor patio, which makes it perfect for us since our dog babies can relax too. The menu strikes a really smart balance between authentic Sichuan spicy dishes and more Americanized Chinese classics, so there's something for everyone. The signature spicy fish fillet in flaming red oil is a must-try -- bold, fragrant, and so satisfying it might have just saved me an expensive flight back to China. The chili oil wontons are my personal favorite starter and never disappoint. This is an easy repeat spot for us, and we'll definitely go back around CNY days.

I also ordered the Mongolian beef, which was flavorful and made with good-quality beef that wasn't fatty. My only complaint was the amount of sauce--it was very thick and oily, and enough leaked out of the to-go container to make a mess. The bean paste chicken was also tasty, with fresh vegetables and tender chicken, but again there was a heavy pool of sauce at the bottom of the container. Cutting back on the sauce a bit would make both dishes even better. Overall, the food was flavorful, portions were solid, and the prices are hard to beat. I'd definitely come back when I'm in the area.

Or really any quality takeout of any kind. $90 order, ranging from dumplings to basic entrees to rice. Everything was off - slopped together, underseasoned, lazy vegetable chopping (and questionable) choices of vegetable ingredients. No Wok fire/heat evident in any of the entree's and everything was a gluey, flavorless mess. The noodles for the Lo Mein seemed honestly just spaghetti. The orange chicken was dry/old, almost no breading, and honestly didn't taste orangey at all. The kung pao looked like what my 7 year old could have made (when we was seven). More like boiled chicken topped with raw Safeway vegetables, whole peanuts, and a soupy cornstarch soy sauce afterthought. The kicker was they do not have any house made sauces, so if you want good mustard or something edible for dipping - welcome to shitty packet hell as they refused to provide those (if they existed). I'm curious what they do when you're in-house but if I''m paying for the same food I'm not sure why I wouldn't get something besides high-fructose corn syrup garbage stamped out in a factory two years ago. This reflects lack of care to the product and customer experience. Highly unfortunate for an establishment that used to be "decent" as I said.
