Do not hire this guy - period! I would give him zero stars if I could. He charged $350.00 cash to do an average repair job on a rocker recliner, the work he did went right back to the way it was originally in a week or two. When I tried to contact him to repair his original repair work he turned into a ghost. You would think for $350.00 he could at least take a second stab at it. He knows his work is garbage and he can't fix it. I ended up buying stick on leather repair for $30.00 and it looks perfect now. I could've saved myself $320.00 by never hiring this shyster. I wouldn't have gone through the trouble of leaving this crappy review if he had returned any of the phone calls or texts to at least try to make it right but he's not that type. Ray did a phenomenal job on our sofa's headrest but the story only begins here!! When I found out that the repair might have been covered under the still valid The Dump ( very appropriately named) warrantee..he graciously backed out and encouraged me to pursue this which I did but of course as expected and very typical of that store, my repair was declined by the Guardsman company for reasons that made absolutely no sense whatsoever! Even calling the store CS Dept. was a waste of time as they stood behind the decline. I then called Ray of Fibrenew in Naperville and he Came and got the headrest, repaired it and had it reinstalled well before the Christmas Holiday! It was great working with Ray. Our dog had ripped a sizable hole in the arm of our leather sofa and what we didn't realize at the time was that he actually ate some of the leather itself. Yikes! Ray was super creative helping us find a solution that would be cheaper for us, instead of buying new leather for the couch. Our dog had also destroyed parts of a matching chair that we were planning on tossing out because the damage was too severe. Luckily for us, our dog hadn't touched the arm on the chair. I am only giving this one star because zero is not an option! I have a white leather couch that had a small permanent marker stain on the cushion. I paid $250.00 for the removal and within one week tha small stain turned into a big, black stain worse than the original!. A week later I texted him again and said I would be contacting Fibrenew and writing a review. Ray Gale made the red leather seats in my wife's 2009 Mercedes Benz SL 550 look brand new. The seats had numerous age cracks in the bolsters and scratches in the seat cushions.
