This company was easy to book with, called with 15-30 min notice and fairly priced (look, this just isn't cheap...so get over the sticker shock or buy a new chair). I believe they quoted me a 4-8 week window for completion and they just delivered my "new" chair today, almost exactly at the 4 week mark. They were fair, nice and communicative, I can't complain.

His response was quick and honest and he was willing to take the job on at a very reasonable cost, and referred me to Stan. Stan was also quick to respond and we arranged a time for pick up and an ETA. Stan contacted us anytime he had a question about something and sent pics of her in progress. After about 2 to 3 weeks, he was ready to bring her back and we were extremely flabbergasted at how gorgeous she had turned out. When you have a piece of furniture so long and it looks so worn, it's hard to imagine what it could look like beautified. I am attaching before and after pics to show what wonderful work they did, which included completely stripping her, which Stan said was VERY labor-intensive. Keith refinished our 12 foot wood veneer dining room table, two credenzas, a two piece China cabinet, and reupholstered ten dining room chairs. In addition to the excellent work we were appreciative with the speed in which it was completed. He always promptly responded to any of our inquiries. We also appreciated his willingness to hold our furniture while other work was being completed.

It is important that you know your community and you are willing to negotiate as a family business. That is what will keep your business alive. I was really excited over the reviews, saying how quick they were to get back, how reasonable their prices were, and how they were willing to work with everyone. When I asked them for a quote to re-upholster 17x20 dining room chair, they wanted to charge $75 a piece for 6 dining room chairs. No deal, no hourly rate; no negotiation whatsoever. Then they said that they would not do delivery because normally you can "unscrew" the seat of the chair. I'm sorry, but by the time I unscrew the chair and bring a bunch of those over to you with my own fabric, what am I even paying you for? This might be really reasonable for upper class people. They did say at this business that reasonable is relative and I would agree. I was not able to get my service done here because it is way too steep. They were cordial, but clearly exclusive.

DETAILS: We had a disaster with our large, built-in bathroom vanity. Shampoo had spilled and wasn't discovered for months, causing extensive damage to 5 components: a large supporting vertical piece, the supporting bottom piece running the entire width of the vanity, a cabinet door, a drawer cover, and the drawer. I called numerous woodworkers, handymen, specializing in wood, cabinet makers, and cabinet companies. Most suggested cutting out pieces, patch-ups and coverups. Those that had a well-known reputation were concerned about the vanity's structural integrity. One suggested adding another bottom support, which would have completely changed the look and feel. An extremely reputable cabinet company told us they wouldn't even try because they weren't confident that they could remove the supporting vertical piece. THEN WE FOUND KEVIN. He didn't patch it. He didn't coverup damage. He didn't change the design. He restored it. In my opinion, Kevin is a true craftsman and artist, and probably a one-and-only. He told me his grandfather taught him the trade beginning when he was a young boy. His skill, patience, and attention to detail are extraordinary. Look at the photos. They tell the story. You will see what Kevin was up against. and that he gave us back our disaster as good as when we had it custom built almost 20 years ago (and better than prior to the damage).

Thank you for your offer to redo the work, but when I expressed concerns after your initial repair, that would have been the time to discuss alternative approaches. At the time you left me with that was just the way it was because of the way light is refracted. I tried to ignore it but it leaps out at you every time you walk by. It is much worse than it was before and 4 times larger. I hired another company to come out and see what they could do. Although their repair still isn't perfect, it is significantly less noticeable. At this point, I don't feel confident that another attempt would achieve the results I would like.
