This brewery was somehow not on my list for one's to try. I don't know why as it is close to other brewery locations that most certainly on my list. I am guessing it is because it was just out of parameters barely while bookmarking this area at one point and time. At any rate Steve and I were quite pleased to have tried this brewery and it proved to be a pleasant surprise. The beer we had was the Lime Featherweight which is an American Light Lager type brewery that we found to be refreshing and pleasant. Flavor features with this beer flavor profile is Lime and some Wheat flavors going on. The beer is very light bodied which is great for a hot, humid Iowa summer day and the texture of the beer is nice and smooth. Very easy to have more than one but we controlled ourselves with the one. A return visit if in the cards I am sure would not be a disappointment. read more

We are big fans of a patio day at Field Day. They have an amazing patio space with an area of the kiddos to play. Our whole family has also really enjoyed an evening of duck pin bowling as a fun evening activity out of the house. I don't think I would be able to say I've ever had a great service experience at Field Day and would say more times than not the service has just been inattentive. We recently had an experience where we had to ask for things multiple times, never got it so just gave up and cut our trip short. The food is okay but for the price I'd rather go somewhere else to eat. There is nothing on the menu that calls me back. They used to have some tofu bowl I really liked but it wasn't on the menu very long which is disappointing. read more

WOW! What a treat this place is, North Liberty is so lucky. I'm visiting from Minneapolis and had heard Field Day was a must stop, and boy was it. It's so easy to find and has a lovely spot of land by some water and tons of green space. In terms of decor the bold colors balance the industrial grays, along with curved seating and their remarkable bird graphic. In case you haven't gotten it yet from my description, this place is cooooool. Everyone we came into contact with was kind and helpful, albeit the busy atmosphere. When it came to ordering, you could either scan a QR code or talk to a person. I ended up asking for a couple samples of the sours because they're listed as smoothie sours and TBH I'm kind of tired of those. I tried both (and they're both listed as smoothies) and they were actually great. Girl Talk (the purple one) was a little more lactose-y than Mimosa Frenzy (the yellow one) -- I could have gone with either and been very happy. We ordered Duckpin popcorn (light, nice, very snackable), Brussels sprouts (literally DELICIOUS), Harvest salad (that sauce???? Incredible), vegetarian tacos (get the battered fries with it, yum), and the cheesecake (are you kidding me with the citrus zest and mint??) for 2 people. You wouldn't normally think, "oh it's a brewery, I'm going to get a salad!" but you should if it's Jake Wegmann as the chef. (Mr. Wegmann is the head chef here!) I totally trust his taste. If he has it on the menu, it's gonna be good. I recommend everything. This would be a great place for so many events - family, friends, dates, work... you name it. Our group stopped for lunch after a bike ride on the day before Mother's Day. Pleasantly surprised that every mother was given a long-stemmed rose and a free drink token - thank you. Food and service was excellent. Had the cranberry-butternut squash salad with chicken. The beef tacos looked really good. We asked to be seated inside with some quiet - so were seated in the "private" dining area. Well, it was still quite noisy because of the SCREECHING the chair feet make on the concrete floors. I went with my husband to Field Day Brewing in North Liberty, Iowa while visiting family and friends. We went in the late afternoon and it was just starting to get busy. We were lucky to find seats at the bar, because after a little bit of time passed, it started getting crazy busy. As it got darker outside, the inside lit up and was really cool. The ambiance was awesome. The bartenders were nice and helpful and fun to talk to. My husband and I both really liked all of their craft beer on tap. We didn't try any of their food, but it all looked pretty good as others were eating around us. Overall, good experience! I can't wait to go back sometime in the future. I love this place a lot! They have such a wide variety of different beers on tap for people to try. They have the option to get samples and flights if you're unsure about what you like. The ambience is great with options to sit either outside or inside in a sort of hybrid fashion. Their food is also very good! I've had many of their appetizers before, and they're so yummy and flavorful. I've tried their Iowa Fries and nachos, and they were both very delicious. Regarding service, I would say that they have been slow the past couple of times I've been there. I'm not sure if it's because they're always so busy or if it's because they don't have enough staff. When trying to leave, it takes a while to flag someone down or find our original server's attention. read more

Pros--If you bring the little ones with you or you're the DD, soda is self-serve and complimentary. We had a server that was very attentive and regularly checked in. I had three different brews--all were excellent but the Peach Time Parade was outstanding. A perfect balance of tartness and creamy. We also sampled all the bar snacks. Again, all were great, but Grandma Margaret's Pretzels shined brighter. Much like the beer, the pretzels had the perfect balance of spicy and herbs. The ambiance of Field Day is super laid back and welcoming. This is the first time I've come and it hasn't been super busy. We went with the half price wings (Thursdays) and the pizza pretzel. The hot honey makes this. The wings were not that crispy and definitely would have been better if the skin had been crisp. Service is great and the staff make sure your glass isn't empty too long. I'm pleasantly surprised by both the food and the beer. We stopped in to take a break from a long drive and were just going to have a beer or two and get back on the road. But happy hour drew us in, and we ended up ordering dinner too. The happy hour deals are great (we got drinks and the Korean fries - highly recommend) and the salads we ordered (buffalo cobb and Asian chopped) were really good! I had the Featherweight lager and appreciate that they make a light beer for non-adventurous drinkers. It was a Monday right before dinner time, so not super busy but the space is so cool! I've been following the progress of this place, and I'm excited for it to open, and it did not disappoint. The beer is solid with a fairly good selection. Being new, it's mostly lagers and faster brewed. But I'm sure they'll be some amazing barrel aged in the future. The venue is AMAZING. a big patio which they can heat during cooler weather. Field Day is a fun new addition to the North Liberty community. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the atmosphere was great and managed to cater to families and adults wanting to gather for a chill evening. I'm not really a beer drinker, but I do like hard cider. Their cider was very light and refreshing. We shared the truffle fries and crab drip, and I also had a burger. All the food was really good, but the burger was probably a little pricey for the size. I made the trip from Marion because a band I love was playing, but it was a perfect excuse to try their Day Dreamer THC seltzer. Unfortunately, they can only come in 2mg and 4mg thanks to a new law that went into effect just days before my visit. I still highly recommend one of the cannabis cocktails - particularly the lemon peach zinger. I also ordered a sandwich while I sat at a fireplace to watch the music. Since I didn't really want to full on lounge, the chairs in that spot were pretty uncomfortable and I wish I'd just asked to shift over when things cleared out. If I had been ready to just lean back and vibe, it would've been perfect. The patio situation is so legit and while I didn't fully explore the inside, it looks like a great hang especially if you've got a larger group. we went on a Saturday lunch there were 7 of us. our server did great. I ordered the nachos with the avocado crema on the side, I just wasn't sure about it. server askedvif I wanted everything else. I said yes. now if you google cowboy caviar every picture is of a corn type Sasa. it does have some beans in it. i was fine with that this cowboy caviar was a giant scoop of mixed beans. I really dislike beans so I had to work hard to eat my food. the nachosveere delicious and I requested more creamy and those pickled onions were the best. I need yo figure out how yo make them everyone's food looked good. the little girls ordered first so they could start it. then they took the adults order. since mine lunch was an appetizer it came out first, even before the little girls. I felt kind of awkward there. it was my entree and there were 7 people if I had to share with everyone. there is an outdoor playground the girls enjoyedcand a bowling alley of sorts. they really enjoyed that. all the staff was great. read more

North Liberty, you lucked out! Field Day Brewing is a great new addition to the area. (Having opened last month.) It has all the cool Iowa City Big Grove vibes. Spacious, colorful, well thought out interior with tons of seating options-- including these rad circular booths that can hold 8-10 folks easily. The patio was great and will be heated in the colder months, which I appreciate. (You can do group reservations online-- which includes reserving the patio!) The menu, I found to be just ok? Pricing is pretty standard for a brewery-- though I think $16 for a burger or a pretzel seems a bit high. We ordered the Iowan Brewery Fries. Delish. We did not order the mega pretzel-- due to sticker shock, I guess-- but we definitely will our next visit. They looked legit and worth every penny. There are a bunch of gluten-free and vegan options! Super kid-friendly. Loved the $7 kids menu. #dinonuggsftw My kiddos were in love with the self-serve fountain drink station. They definitely got a refill (or three). The playground equipment was nice and the bowling alley looks rad. The beer selection was ok with a handful of ales, a bunch of IPAs, a few sours, and then a few other options. I enjoyed the Frenzy! The staff was knowledgeable on the beers and everything from the food to the drinks came out quickly-- even on a busy Friday evening. HOLY PARKING, Batman. Wow wow wow. This place is so much fun and I can't wait to go back! We came here on a Thursday night in the summer and it was filled with fun vibes. We arrived with a group of four right at dinner time, so we knew there would be a wait. The hostess told us 40 minutes, but that we could go to the bar grab a drink and wait in the patio area until we received a text on our phone. There were so many great beers to choose from, and all unique to this specific brewery! I ordered a Kolsch to start with and our group headed to the patio closest to the stream that runs next to the restaurant. There are several patio spaces, including one next to a playground, which lets the kiddos get some fun while the adults hang! The one we chose had bonfires and groupings of patio chairs. I imagine this will be the perfect spot for an outdoor hang in the fall too! After about 30 minutes, we received a text and were seated in the outdoor area. Although, the whole place is sort of outdoors... As there are giant glass garage doors that were wide-open and allowed the fresh air to flow into the restaurant. The ordering system here is pretty neat! You'll use a QR code to order your food and drinks on your phone. Don't worry, you'll still have a server that is responsible for your table, and ours was very attentive! We ordered the truffle fries to share with our table and they were absolutely some of the most delicious appetizers I've ever had. Whatever they did with that sauce, lord knows! But my mouth is watering just thinking about it! For my main I chose the Korean Chicken Sandwich. It was incredible! Perfectly balanced savory, sweet, spicy sauce covered a fresh and crispy piece of chicken. I am really looking forward to trying more of the menu items! My husband ordered a burger and said it was "perfection." All in all, this was such a fun experience and we can't wait to return and play some duck-pin bowling! Oh Canada Fries- the only underwhelming thing we had. Not nearly enough cheese to be considered Canada or poutine fries. They were barely sprinkled with cheese and this was very disappointing as the cheese is the best part. Will not order these again. 1/10. Fried Korean chicken sandwich- 50/10. The chill brewery vibes here are immaculate. They have so many different seating options, the twinkle lights on the patio are a vibe. While they don't have a ton of drink options they have enough, that you're bound to be able to pick something you'll be happy with. We got the pizza pretzel which was bomb, the chips and salsa not so much, salsa tasted like ketchup. Also they have a climbing area for the littles, to keep the kids entertained! Field Day is a fantastic Brewery with a very cool atmosphere that is great to caught a game or have some drinks with friends. The food is subpar but they do have a good variety of options. I love the square cheese curds with the hot sauce but the Fiesta bowl was 70% rice and lacked real flavor. The staff were friendly but not very attentive. Yes to adding another brewery to the area! We love local brews - excited to see what Field Day will produce. I have had the Czech Pilsner and the Featherweight - they were decent. Hoping they come out with more lagers and pilsners! Food has also been good - nachos are huge and definitely feed quite a few people! We have also tried the KO chicken and the schnitzel. Both were excellent! We also LOVE that you can't choose fries OR salad for a side and you aren't charged an additional fee! Ambiance is also cool - spacious, outdoor patio with multiple fire pits. Indoors there is duck pin bowling and lots of seating throughout! Will definitely be a great place for college football watching! read more

Once again, terrible service here. What's worse is our server was training someone new... I don't understand why this was the case when there weren't many tables on a Monday night. I had to ask multiple people for things because our server wouldn't check on us. Also, why do these servers hardly wear any clothes... You lose your appetite pretty fast when you see ass cheeks out. Food was decent but very expensive... I got shrimp tacos which were pretty dry. Food took awhile too for a dead restaurant. This was the 4th time I've come over the past year. This place has such a fun atmosphere with great service. We went on a Tuesday around 6:30pm with a 40 minute wait. We got a drink and sat outside. As far as food they have about al the essentials, it it'd be fun if they add some more flavors. We had a chicken sandwich and salad. My favorite part is the bright design and positive staff. We absolutely love their Centennial Park Pilsner! It's such a great easy drinking pilsner and so refreshing on a hot summer day, or any day for that matter. We love that they also have these gems to-go. Service has always been prompt, helpful and courteous. The ambiance is always lively but spacious enough to not feel over crowded. Food was ok but we ordered a loaded pretzel and got a regular pretzel. The food did not translate well t take out containers and looked sparse. This is for people who like to drink with their food, im guessing the beer masks the bland or incorrect foods given out? Just because your a brewery doesn't mean you will have good food. Places that serve 400plus people at a time needs a smaller menu that has some level of culinary skill to match the level of skill put into the beers. Think more gastropub. May go back if there's like 20 or more of us but it's just another brewery in town trying to get its cut of the business. Companies should either do the same things at their multiple restaurants or perfect one place before opening another. If you guys need help I do consulting for restaurants to help them be successful.
