Definitely would not recommend this place. The owner(s) are rude and not professional at all. One mumbles whenever you ask a question. Brought several high end items in for updated appraislals (with previous appraisals in hand from jeweler who made the pieces) and they took forever to complete. I had to call since they forget about the appraisals. The older owner said he can't give exact measurements on diamonds, saphires, rubies, etc." What?!?!?!?!? While they did a wonderful job on both of ours they really did an excellent job on my husband's. His ring was challenging to do but you would never know, it looks just like it did brand new. These folks are so kind! My earring needed a minor fix and they fixed it on the spot and didn't charge! This was on a Saturday and I walked in, talk about service! Not to mention this is such a happy place to go jewelry shopping with a beautiful selection of high quality and pretty jewelry. I called twice in order to make an appointment. I wanted to appraise and sell a piece containing gold, diamonds, sapphire, ruby and emerald. When I couldn't get through, I decided to stop by after the farmers market. When I entered the store, there was a large golden retriever, trying to eat by farmers market purchase. The dog continued to jump up on me and no one claimed the animal, so I left. I am disabled so, I fully support service animals in public spaces but this was not a service animal. I'm confused why you would let an animal run around in a jewelry store, unleashed jumping up on your patrons. Get it together. read more

Bait and switch. Was told it would be about $75 to size from 5 to about 7-7.5. I made a point of telling Dan on the phone that it was white gold, because I know it requires flashing. I'm not stupid, I know that white gold doesn't exist without rhodium plating. I get in there and Ryan tells me it will be $175. After talking to Dan, he says Dan didn't realize it was white gold and the lowest they could do is $120. I regret that I made this call from my work phone, so my app didn't record it. I took in a family heirloom, a diamond and sapphire 18 karat Tiffany and Company bracelet. The clasp was broken and I needed it repaired because my mother had given it to me and I was going to give it to my wife. The employee who accepted The bracelet quoted me a price of $60 to repair the clasp. When I returned to pick up the bracelet after the repair the bill was $130. I'm disappointed in their obvious deception because it would've been so easy to pick up the telephone and give me a phone call to authorize the repair at more than twice The estimated cost. I did not have a choice but to pay the bill and accept the $3000 bracelet but I must say without a doubt I feel as though I was robbed by Fields jewelers Inn Redding California and would never ever recommend them to anyone for anything. read more

I came to fields because I lost the center stone in my wedding ring . They went above and beyond finding the color gem stone I wanted to replace it with( I didn't want a diamond). Kayla was amazing explaining everything about the stones to me and what was a good idea for my ring. They had to replace the head of my ring, resize my ring and find the color gemstone I wanted, they did all of it and did it with the most amazing customer Service a person could ask for. I'm not your typical jewelry buyer so please take this review with a grain of salt. I purchased a ring from Field's in February for $770. They were kind enough to discount the ring down from $850, or so I thought it was kind at the time. Fast forward a few months and I needed money to pay rent as I lost my job during COVID. They told me the ring isn't worth anything, that they'd have to melt it down to sell the gold. So they could give me about $150. I was shocked, when they sold the ring it was worth $850 to them. I understand business, and I thought half price would be fair. They could still turn a profit right? They said the ring is worthless. So If you know jewelry, I'm sure you might understand what's going on here better than me. However, I once sold cars and never once told someone a car was worth 1/5th if what I was asking for it just a couple months later. I wish they would make this right. read more

Very good selection. I found many items of great beauty and deign, attractive for purchase. Not too much in the lower price ($100 - $200) range, but a large quantity of unique and attractive items at the $600 - $1,500 price range. There was no sales pressure and they gift wrapped the item very nicely for me. I will go again for good product and good service. My only complaint is that after filling out a card for their mailing list database, I intentionally did not list my phone number. Really, if a customer declines to provide their phone number, you really should take the hint and not for it again. Five stars anyway for a nice selection of attractive jewelry. read more

Bought my wife's wedding/engagement rings here. They were incredibly helpful from the first time I was there. They taught me all about diamonds and helped me find exactly what I wanted. They didn't hesitate to help me buy the diamond online (a bulk website that allowed me to get it for less) and then set the diamond in the ring. Since then they have cleaned and inspected her ring every 3-4 months. In addition they did a minor repair for free and even offered to clean my ring while we waited (even though I didn't buy my ring from them). My family has been coming here for 4 generations and I can't think of a better place to buy that ring for a special someone! read more

I just took a necklace in for repair. I was really happy, they did a beautiful job and it looks new (over 25 years old). I was really happy at their reasonable rates and professional service. I had taken it to Gold Mart and they quoted me $160 to repair! I thought that seemed high so I went to Fields for a quote, Fields did it for $22! We're customers for life! Only giving one star due to the lack of knowledge about their own warranty and no respect for costumers requests. Bought my husband a ring back in April for our wedding in May and was informed that we had 6 months to come in and get it resized for free. I was told this by 3 different people 3 different times that this the warranty for the ring I was purchasing. We dropped it off at the 5 month mark to get it resized. I got a call a couple days later saying that it in fact would not be free and would cost me an extra $130 to have it done. I told them I would call back after discussing this with my husband. I called them back within 10 minutes, had to leave them a message and told them we did not want it resized seeing as we could not afford it. A week later we got a call saying the ring was done and ready to be picked up for $130. We never went to pick it up since we didn't have the money. A few weeks ago my husband finally went in to get it and it was TOO SMALL... they informed him they could order him a new one but that would cost another $130!! He set the ring back on the counter and said "call my wife and discuss that with her" and he walked out. A month later and they still haven't tried to contact me. I will never do business with this company again. They took an item that was supposed to be special for my husband and I and turned it in a way for their business to make as much money as they could. read more

I took in my mothers engagement ring (1949) to have my daughters birthstone put in place of the missing diamond. When I called to see if it was ready to pick up they could not find it and had to call me back the next day when they had found it. Boy, was i worried. The ring is irreplaceable. After I wore it a few months the ring became twisted. When they sized it them made it too thin and the prongs holding the stone snag on my clothes and towels. I would never go back to Fields. PS: they did try to repair the twisting but I'm not satisfied with their work. read more
