Watch out for their non refundable fee they quote to just belong to their community. It is a scam. I have heard them quote anywhere from $3,000 to $8,000 while pretending to do you a favor saying, "that they will help you out by taking it off your monthly rent but don't tell anybody because your family will be the only family receiving this great deal". There is no genuine care shown towards the residents at all. They are extremely understaffed. There is no acting nurse. The is no acting director of the whole property. The food program is not eatable. The same menu just keeps revolving week after week after week. The place is dirty with no basic cleaning of the floors, laundry rooms and bathrooms. South Hill's corporate office has no clue how the property is even ran. Their best effort is to just send in bodies and platoon most positions. My dad was there many years and towards the end they treated him very poorly. Save your families time, money and hardships and go to a much better facility like the Gallery just down the street. Thank you for looking.

Poor Care & Overmedicated…read more My family member and I did not have a pleasant experience at Sunshine Terrace. Unfortunately, the facility is dirty and doesn't smell clean. One of the shower rooms is coed, and not kept clean. My family member slipped in the shower a few times because of slime buildup, and no rubber slip mat. My family member expressed that the food is terrible and the water tastes awful as well - asked for salad instead of meat because meat effects digestion - was told "we're trying to save money - you have to eat what we serve". On a number of occasions, several items were missing from her room, after her visits out. Meds were not monitored properly during residency there - often so tired and groggy - fell down the stairs, during a visit with family because too doped up, and also in the dining room, at the facility while waiting in line for lunch - our family was never notified. Phone calls concerning this and many other things were ignored - not able to reach doctor on site to discuss concerns about being over medicated. Worst of all, while looking into missing money, from disability that was unaccounted for, my family member was confronted, in room by 3 persons on site, and told "you have 3 hours to pay or you have to leave. Mind you, this was a resident who's not always of sound mind, and who sufferers from Psychosis. I would not recommend this facility. The staff there, with the exception of two kind gentlemen, Joe and Ed, were insensitive and dismissive Do your research before you leave your loved one here.

They will send random people that have never been to your home and not introduce them to the family or give them directions on what needs to be done. When they do show up to introduce a caregiver it is too quick and they tell them to ask the patient. I have had to call and share my frustration with the office more than once about this and it never changes. In the 2 years we used them we have gone thru over 10 caregivers. The best one they have left is Rubi. They also will change the schedule without notifying you they have done so. It is a very poorly ran company.

My mom died unexpectedly I took a week and half off and they started pulling my shifts saying they thought I quit! I called back and told them no my mom just passed and I was the one that had to deal with everything, I went back to work because I needed my job and cared for my clients, I have health conditions they were aware of, and because I went back too early I got pretty sick took a couple weeks off and was required to get a Doctors note, which I did and Then they fired me! I was warned by a staff member that gave her two weeks notice that they take your bonuses you earned as soon as you give notice! my daughter got a second job because they never gave her the 40 hours she asked for then said it's because she doesn't take the extra shifts available outside of her time available, she gave her new hours and they basically fired her by saying they thought she quit, also taking her earned bonus well! There are many other compassionate companies to hire for a loved ones care, if they treat their employees this way then they obviously can't care about their client! I've seen clients miss out on having a caregiver because of how they treat their employees, as well as being charged for a last minute cancellation while they are not held to the same standards! I had a client request specific hours I told them I could work those hours and instead they worked multiple care givers and did they hours they wanted to do instead!

They don't update anything in the apartments they charge an arm and leg for, they shift appliances around from apartment to apartment and attempt to repair mostly to know avail. My carpet was filthy from prior tenant (had a massive dog), I'd walk around in my white socks and they'd turn black! No upkeep with the foliage outside, the lavender bushes are so overgrown and look half dead. I would try and help to keep the rose bushes trimmed but one of many bullies told me I didn't know what I was doing? I was bullied by several old woman and a couple of old men for no apparent reason and management did NOTHING. But one of their favorite tenants told a lie about me and they jumped all over me for it with no proof, illegally forcing me out. I did a lot for the community my two years there, art classes twice a month, movies with treats every Saturday night and it seemed the more I did too try and bring joy to the community the worse it got for me. Management especially Ann could see this but looked the other way and when the monster Michelle came she made it worse for me attacking me verbally and not hearing my point of view and the one to illegally force me out. Although I was happy to leave this nut house, people were awful and also took me for granted. I helped a lot of people but jealousy is a complex emotion of insecurity that took over "a lot" of these people.
