This restaurant is the epitome of a complete shit show. The server argued on whether or not I could customize my food, he wasn't sure he would have to ask the kitchen. The drinks that we ordered were very standard, (margaritas), however they came out not even sub standard. Then my husband ordered a "Pain Killer" and the waiter stated he would ask the bar, shortly he comes back with a short rocks glass filled with clear liquid and a lime and straw; a Pain Killer has creme de cocoa (or coconut milk), so I immediately knew it was wrong, it tasted like a cross between everclear, cheap tequila, and shitty rum. My husband was so pissed that we paid the 32 dollars for what we had(ridiculous as I only drank 1 margarita) and we left!!!! There is no hostess so you basically have to stand there looking like an idiot before someone ask you how many is in your party, mind you there was only two, myself and my husband. I've driven by this restaurant several times but never gone in, until today. The decor was colorful and cheerful and we really enjoyed looking around. Service was good, staff was friendly and our food arrived piping Hot! Our rice was light and cooked just right, my wife's tacos were good but she wishes the meat was drained a little better, they were just a little greasy. The visit started out well with good chips and spicy salsa. My friend and I ordered and when my plate arrived, It was served with chicken, not the beef I asked for. When I asked the waitress to take it back, she argued with me until I reminded her of the conversation we had had regarding shredded verses ground beef. AND the food was not hot. Obviously I was served leftovers, The food was too fast to have been freshly made. At the end of our meal, my friend had to pull a long black hair from her mouth. We are both grey, and short haired. This is a nice little restaurant with all the Mexican trappings. Four of us ordered drinks and dinner and the service was great. Salsa, chips and drinks where promptly delivered. We ordered Steak Fajitas, Chicken and Shrimp Fajitas and a Taco salad. Everything arrived and appeared to be cooked to perfection, but that's where it ended. The Shrimp in one Fajita order still had the tails on, ya can't eat the tarils. The Steak had NO taste at all. It was like eating beef that had been soaked in water, utterly tasteless. I ordered the food to go with a friend who said she didn't want anything (because of the mediocre reviews, ironically) but after the smells from my food filled up the car the friend was so jealous! The chease dip is something I could have made at home by melting a bunch of shredded cheese together and threw in some pico de gallo. Azteca has several locations in Brevard County and this one has been my favorite. Since I was dining alone for Cinco de Mayo I decided to sit at the bar. I arrived shortly after 5 p.m.,the restaurant was not yet busy and only a couple of people were sitting at the bar. Azteca had printed up a special limited menu for the holiday and since they do so much business on Cinco de Mayo I figured that was probably a good idea. As soon as I sat down at the bar a server gave me chips and salsa which I took as a good sign since last Cinco the place was so chaotic I never received any. There were two young men working behind the bar and I could immediately see that neither one of them was a regular bartender. After I sat there for a while watching them chat, I asked for one of them to take my order. I told him they serve a Margarita made with lime juice and no Margarita mix which I thought was listed as a Skinny Margarita on the drink menu. He looked at the more senior employee in bewilderment. That guy informed me they weren't making special Margaritas only serving pre-made ones due to the holiday. Apparently he gave it a second thought and decided to make the drink but he served me tequila and club soda instead of what I requested. Since he was making an exception for me, I went ahead and drank it but asked for tequila, Cointreau and lime juice for my second drink. He informed me that if he made it with lime juice it really wasn't "skinny". I explained I just thought that's what the drink was called on their regular drink menu. He told the employee helping him to make the drink although I didn't hear the details of their conversation. The tequila was poured out of my sight but I did see orange liqueur added to a plastic cup and several lime wedges squeezed in. Then the assistant grabbed multiple pink packets of SWEET AND LOW which I stopped him from adding to my drink! OMG, I sure didn't say there was Sweet and Low in the cocktail! There was virtually no salt on the rim of the cup. I asked the assistant for a freshly salted glass and he gave me yet another plastic cup with almost no salt on the rim. Finally I requested a GLASS glass with a salted rim which shouldn't have been a problem as there was a mountain of clean glasses on the back side of the bar. A couple was sitting next to me and the senior guy made a snide comment to them about me being a "VIP". I had actually been very polite and patient and quickly grew tired of being referred to as a "VIP" from then on. I had a Chicken Chimichanga and the meal was fine. While I was eating the lady next to me asked for a dish of salsa with a little more heat. A while later she received a small dish of salsa which dried red pepper flakes - like what you would put on a pizza - had been dumped in. We were both amazed. I know it was a holiday but couldn't someone in the kitchen chop up a jalepeno? When I received the check I was shocked that my drinks were almost $10 each. When I questioned the amount the senior employee informed me I was charged for Patron tequila. I responded I didn't request Patron and he said, "Well that's what I used". I paid the check but I did not leave the 20% plus tip I usually leave thanks to the "VIP Treatment ". I applaud Azteca for making some changes on Cinco de Mayo to make things run more smoothly but there is no excuse for this kind of service. Ever. read more

My husband and I enjoyed our experience here. The server was friendly. He asked me if I was a vegetarian when he saw that I ordered a bean burrito platter. I told him yes, and he told me I would enjoy the burrito and hoped I would come back to try more vegetarian dishes that they serve. I like any place that gives you chips and salsa right as you walk in and the margaritas definitely got the job done, however the quality of the meat left a little to be desired. The carne asada had great flavor however it was tough as rawhide! My boyfriend had the chimichanga and it was pretty greasy (that says alot) so much so that he was pretty sick afterwards. I liked the refried beans but the rice was too dry. My husband and I went to Fiesta Azteca on one of our date nights. It isn't often we go out to dinner since we have two little ones who don't like to sit still in restaurants. After reading mixed reviews about every single Mexican food restaurant in the area, (minus Taco Bell which strangely has the highest reviews lol) we settled on this one. At 5:30 on a Saturday evening we were seated immediately, which was nice. We were given a tiny cup of salsa and some cold chips. The salsa was runny but not bad. After ten minutes of just sitting there our waitress finally arrived to take our drink order. It took her another ten minutes to bring us an ice water and a beer. That annoyed me a little bit since I was very thirsty. After taking our food order, we didn't see her again for a good while. I ordered the Super Chimichanga with shredded beef and my husband ordered the steak fajitas. Now, before I continue, I was raised in Arizona about twenty minutes from the Mexico border so good, quality Mexican food was never hard to find. Surprisingly, my Chimi was pretty damn good. Both of our food arrived at the table piping hot and smelling delicious. It was GOOD. It wasn't great, but it was good enough that I would go back. What I would NOT go back for is the service. My husband and I tip our servers well. How hard is it to be polite or to check on your customers to see if maybe they need something while they are eating? We literally had to flag our waitress down for our check. People have bad days, but you shouldn't take it out on customers. read more

There are three Fiesta Azteca locations in the Melbourne area. They are all somewhat different. I think this is my favorite. We had a very good lunch. This is one of those Mexican restaurants where they warn you the plate is hot, and it is really HOT. That's usually a good sign. We had fajitas and a taco/enchilada combo. Both were tasty. I had shredded beef on the enchilada and taco. It's not clear on the menu that they offer a choice of meat on tacos, but the waitress offered that option right away. Good service. Monday late afternoon, place was dead...... so was the service. Waitress kept disappearing for extended periods of time. Refried beans were loose, and plated before anything else and kept under a heat lamp, such that it had a skin on it when it (finally) arrived. My wife and I ate here for lunch 2 weeks ago and the food was super delicious! We've been to many Mexican restaurants over the past 30+ years and this is definitely one worth mentioning. Mexican food is our favorite and we consider ourselves to be connoisseurs. The food was great, the salsa was perfect, the service was impeccable. Alan was our server this last time we were there and we asked for some hotter salsa to mix with the regular salsa and a spoon and he was back within a minute. We asked for more salsa a couple of times and again he was back within a minute. Alan returned several times asking if we needed anything and that was refreshing. We could not ask for a better experience than this was. I'd give this place 6 stars it that were possible. People giving this place bad reviews must not know much about good Mexican food. Had to get up and go find her multiple times and one time I couldn't find any employees, not even the bartender. The restaurant was 1000°F. Food was good and there was plenty of it. I am not an expert on Mexican food, but I liked their food. Service was very good. I would go back and eat there again. I had the burrito verde and the pork in it was very tender, and there was a lot of it. Sauce was slightly spicy. Chips and salsa were really good. Most items were from 7.95 up to 12.95 there were a few items a little higher. There are some early bird specials from 3 to 5:30. read more
