Food was such a disappointment we were here a few years back and it was excellent. I told my new husband how I was excited to have a meal here while staying in Polson. Hubby ordered the 2 taco combo and I ordered the taco enchilada combo. First off the salsa tasted ok but there were big hunks of cabbage in it which I thought was weird. When our food came the tacos were ground beef as we ordered they were full of meat but unfortunately they were a grease bomb. Obviously they don't drain the grease off their meat. Actually my husband's plate had a pool of it. The rice was super dry and tasteless and the beans were bland. Our server never came to check on us as they were all by the kitchen door chatting. The place was pretty empty but it was a weekday lunch time. The light that hung over our table looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years so thick with dirt, we hoped the dirt didn't fall in our food. This was so disappointing because our experience before was amazing. We didn't even order drinks just water and our bill for lunch was over $30 for terrible food I wish I would have read the other latest reviews then we may have missed this garbage. read more

I'm from Southern California, so trying Mexican food in Montana already had my expectations low, but this was really not great. We went on a Tuesday and were seated right away since it was not very busy. For drinks, they don't show the prices of their margaritas because you can choose from a list of tequilas. The problem is, no matter what tequila you choose, you won't taste it because the drinks are SO SWEET!! I could not finish mine, even though it cost $15 or $16. I ordered a 3-item combo with a chicken enchilada, a chicken tacos, and a beef tamale. Enchilada was decent, though nothing special. The taco was just bad. No flavor. The tamale was actually pretty good. If we come back to Polson and want Mexican food, we will definitely look somewhere else. read more

Everything is in my humble opinion. This will be the last time I come here. The food is unbelievably bad. The chips seemed cheap (small, brittle chips) and the sauce was watery with very little taste. The prices were like NYC prices for the steak meat (fajitas, etc.) so my wife and I split the taco and 2 enchiladas combo. I already knew that it was going to be bad when the only choices were ground meat, shredded meat, and chicken. We choose the shredded meat and it was just plain bad. Okay, I notice a yelp trend that I am going to try to fix. Classic sit-down American/Mexican restaurants always have poor reviews. I find this annoying because when I am looking for a sit down classic American/Mexican restaurant, I never find one highly rated. But, after going to one, I find the food is really good, if you want that specific style of food. So, 5 stars for our experience last night as this restaurant, as it delivered exactly what I wanted. Classic Americanized Mexican food. First, the patio is awesome - great views from our table and covid approved seating outside! Upon entering, we were pleased to see all the staff wearing masks, table spread far apart and handy hand sanitizer. First, the chips and salsa were tasty. We got margaritas, which were not the best I've ever had, but they were strong enough and tasted great after a long day on the lake. I ended up ordering fajitas, but asked them to just do vegetables, no meat. This wasn't on the menu, but it is what I wanted and she happily said no problem. My partner got a vegetarian burrito. Food came out pretty quickly and to my delight - they didn't just leave off meat for the veggie fajitas, they added a ton of delicious items. It had carrots, cauliflower, edamame, green beans, and then the classic onions, bell peppers and tomatoes. It was soooooo good. I was overly impressed that they went the extra mile and added more to make it very satisfying. I actually loved the carrot addition and will be doing this in my homemade fajitas next time! My partner said the burrito was classic and good. Service was great - they were clearly taking covid seriously and I appreciate that. One caution - they said "careful, plate is hot" when they brought my sides for the fajitas and they were not kidding, I accidentally touched this dang plate twice and it was the hottest plate I've ever experienced in my life eating at Mexican restaurants where they put the plates thru the oven. The best view of the lake in Polson from a dining perspective is to be found at fiesta En Jalisco. It is your standard offering of Americanized Mexican food, but it's done really well. Everyone seems to dog on this type of food, but I love a good simple plate of fajitas, and they didn't disappoint. There's just not a LOT of choices for dining in downtown Polson, which is sad because this is a very picturesque little lake town. I agree with the Yelper that said Mexican restaurants get a lower ratings than other restaurants. I rate things for what is expected so I may rate a Michelin star restaurant a four for average service or a fast food restaurant a five for good consistent food and friendly service. So this restaurant gets a a 4.5. The view is great, and I would eat here for the view only, but the food was very good. I have eaten authentic Mexican food in Mexico and Arizona, in Sonoran, Oaxan, and Jaliscoan and this Mexican food is as very good. The Chalupa had a fried flour tortilla (I know Americans like flour but I love flour and corn) and the food was tasty and plentiful. The white meat chicken was plentiful and perfectly shredded. Both my wife and I had a fabulous experience from the moment we walked in. Seated quickly at a table by the window overlooking Flathead Lake (did I mention the view is awesome?). Our server, Alexis, was super friendly and helpful. Our respective dinners, Carne Asada and the chicken enchiladas were outstanding and arrived in a really timely manner. We enjoyed drinks with dinner and before we left the manager stopped by to see how we were doing. Definitely worth visiting and everyone there was extremely courteous and helpful. read more

Both were so weak they tasted like there was NO tequila in them. We ordered extra shots because we were sure they just waved the bottle over the glasses. My husband ordered a chile relleno a la carte, and when he never received it, and the waitress brought the bill, we wanted to make sure she didn't charge us for it. She said she never even submitted the order to the kitchen because they were "busy." (This was not an overly busy night.... several tables were open.) Two salads were ordered - the menu said "mixed greens" - but it wasn't like spring mix - it was a whole plate of endive or mustard greens. Overall the food was blah and meh - tasteless. If you've just been rescued from being lost in the Bob Marshall Wilderness and lived on tree bark for 6 months, just keep on going and seek out the nearest tree.
