One of my go to places that never seem to disappoint!!! Growing up Hispanic...I am used to eating food that was cooked by my mother Homeland of Honduras. I have been coming to Fiesta when I first fell in love with the place when it was located on Vets inside the old mall by the Dollar Movie theater im Kenna Brah....you memmer....come on you memmer!!! Anyways back to the most important part....THE FOOD!!! My first love was with the Yucca (con chicaron) which is located on the Appetizer menu...you can get the yucca boiled or fried (which I highly recommend) and it comes with a cabbage salad on top with pickled onions and carrots (encurdito for my Latin peeps), tomato sauce of course the chicharons!!! This was my first taste of my childhood...and was the exact meaning of the saying of "just like my Mama makes it!" A nice sized plate that should be under the entree menu and not the app...for an excellent price too. My second love was is with the Carne Asada plate!!! OMG!!! I never thought they could top the yucca plate, but they not only topped it...they blew it out of the water. Tender grilled steak meat that has been seasonably marinated and cooked to perfection!!! If you grew up in Kenna Brah like me....you probably remember the Mensaje Fair that used to be behind St Jude hospital (now Ochsner Kenner) in the late 80s and early 90s...the Carne Asada that was sold at the Honduras booth is EXACTLY the same sold at Fiesta!!! So delicious...served with a salad...rice...beans and your choice of sweet plantains or fried plantains or tortillas....not to mention an awesome piece of cheese!!! The plate is to die for!!! You can't go wrong with Fiesta...there is the Sopa De Res (Beef Soup) that can serve two it is so HUGE!!! So delicious with different types of veggies from yucca...carrots... mirliton and more!!! Don't get me started on the Pupusas...you can't go wrong there either!!! And finally one of my favorites the chips and salsa!!! Nice salty chips that go well with a unique salsa that is not spicy...and has a sweet tatse to it....one of my favorite places of ALL time...I highly recommend it....if you ever go I'll probably see ya there... because I try to go at least once a month...Fiesta Latina is Da Bomb!!! read more

BLUF: Amazing latina food with typical menu from numerous central american countries. Banging pupusas and yucca. This place is only a mile or so from the airport. My wife and I have decided that we are going to go here every time we have the time on trips or dropping off friends. Place is awesome. Big menu and some meals let you know which is from which country which is nice. I lived in Honduras for over 2 years and a couple of their dishes are represented by I got the pupusas which are mainly from El Salvador. (You can get them outside of El Salvador but they are usually nowhere near as good). These pupusas were crazy good. We got the order of 5; 2 cheese, 2 beans and cheese and 1 meat and cheese. Amazing. They were all amazing. Tons of cheese. The pupusas were not as sturdy as in El Salvador so they require a fork and knife. Amazing. Got the fried plantains which were also great. Simple and great. Got the fried yucca with ensalada and chicharones. The yucca was awesome (kinda like a potato) and it was very lightly fried (not like a french fry). It was great and so was the ensalada (pickled cabbage and veggies). The chicarones were terrible so I would advise against getting those. Ineddible. Haha. Service was great. Atmosphere was nice with bachata on the radio and Telavision on the tv. I cant wait to go back. Not sure if I will stick with the pupusas or try something else. Maybe both. read more

Alright, this place is OUTSTANDING!! Father's Day with my children, drive by this place and decide to stop in to check it out. One look at the menu, and I knew I would come back after my small shopping errands I needed to run. So glad that I did. Now, the fact that they were almost full made the wait a little bit, but we had a chance to snack on the ample free chips and salsa. My kids thoroughly enjoyed the Pupusa Kids plate which came with rice and beans.. But, my Menudo was stellar.. So full of home style flavor it was as though I had been transported back in time to the Menudo that my grandfather would make, oh so deftly. There was none to rival it. And although this is not as good, it is incredibly close.. I do wish the tripe had been cut a little bit smaller, but I'll deal. Give this place a try, you'll be glad you did.. There is nothing to compare to it, and it is a shining star on Williams Blvd! read more

I only went there because I tend to follow people and Kris said it was good. She has good taste! I had the shrimp tacos on a corn tortilla. Excellent. When I drove by one night and saw about 500 people there I said "I gotta check that place out" The waitress asked "if there was anything else she could do for me..." If we were in Mexico, absolutely! Clean and spacious restaurant. Staff was friendly enough. Menu had various Mexican, Honduran and Salvadoran dishes. Ordered Doritas favorite which came with 2 pupusas, plantains, rice and beans. It was all fresh and looked delicious! Unfortunately it lacked flavor.. I took a few bites, ate one pupusa and gave the rest away. It was almost $9 for that plate. My dad had soup.. Tripe soup. He said it lacked flavor and the meat was hard. Oh well we tried it and won't be returning. read more

I'll give it five stars, but they need to work on the ambiance. Let's talk about the food. We ordered 10 pupusas, 5 with cheese and 5 with beans. They delicious, not too greasy, well cooked and tasty. Also, we ordered yuca frita, fried yuca, which was fried to order. It was nice and crispy. I'll highly recommend it. The service was good. One of my favorite restaurants. The prices are pretty good, especially for the quality food that you end up getting. Even if you aren't going to stop in for a meal, you should check out their 5 papusas for $5 to-go. They are served very hot and fresh and are absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself is fairly nondescript, heading east it would be easy to miss. The interior is clean and the staff is really friendly. They have all sorts of Latin American food here and is definitely worth checking out if you like that type of food and live in New Orleans. read more

Delicious food with amazing service close to New Orleans airport. Restaurant is a little like a throwback El Paso movie set. Still, with 4 hours to wait before my flight, I couldn't have found better food within a mile of the airport. I couldn't eat half the delicious food on my plate. Full bar, huge selection of Latin dishes from around the World and cheap prices. Place was full all day when i went there and populated by other Spanish-speaking locals who knew what this food should taste like. I wasn't a fan however, of the beans and rice, they were very different from traditional Mexican version. Kind of a time warp with very nice pretty servers. read more

Was in the area, in the mood for some latin/Central American food... literally the most disappointing pupusas I ever had. The chicharrón was apparently so 'molido' it wasn't even visible with the naked eye. Incase more context necessary: I told the waitress that I think they accidentally gave me the cheese pupusas instead and her response was that the meat was just REALLY ground up... the rice, dry, tasted like it was sitting out for hours.. the repollo was yellow & just honestly tasted old.. the margaritas were essentially green corn syrup & literally like Morton's table salt dumped on the rims. Can you post less than 1 star? The absolute worst meal of any cuisine I have ever eaten at any establishment. Examples: 1.) The margarita tasted like snow-ball syrup, 2.) It was void of any alcohol. 3.) We had a party of 6, and they were not busy when we arrived, but our "meals" took way to long to be served, and some of my party received the wrong orders, 4.) With all due respect the staff needs to have a better command of English, 5.) The tamale that was ordered was served partially frozen - YES frozen, 6.) I had the Taco Salad with the best part being the taco itself, 7.) The chicken was inedible, 8.) When waiting for our meal an obviously drunk or mentally challenged individual entered the restaurant mumbling something, which the staff chose to ignore, he stunk and finally left on his own accord. It was a Sunday afternoon, and given the hispanic man I am, I was craving real hispanic food. I was a little skeptical about this place, as my standards for hispanic food are high. Not only this place met such standards, but it also surpassed them! The service was outstanding! The server, Delmys, was so friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. I really enjoy authentic El Salvadorian food and I saw this one on Airline Drive and wanted to give it a try. I came here for dinner everything was awesome the beans were flavorful, the shredded pork was tender and tasty, everything was done just right. I took home some cheese Pupusas (the authentic pickled cabbage was Just Right) and they were the best food I've put in my mouth in a while. They use a tart white cheese which is perfect and the flat bread-package around is a Lite corn meal thick bread fried. The Pupusas are available in bean and cheese pork and cheese and plain cheese I got one of each. All delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive. read more

I don't know what happened, but this place got really shitty. The prices all went up about 30% and the food started to suck. We ordered enough food for 8 people and instead of being around $100 (the usual) it was around $140 and not a single thing was as good as it usually is. The meat in the tacos was dry and hard to eat. The papusas were so greasy that the entire inside of the take out container was completely soaked in orange grease. The fajitas were tough and greasy and the torta barely had any meat in it. I went here on a Sunday afternoon with my wife and mother-in-law (they are Cuban, I am not) The location had me concerned because it is in a sketchy part of Kenner on Airline between Williams Blvd and the Airport access road. Once we got there, we thought about turning around....but decided to go in. The inside looks a bit run down. There is a bar on the right with a oddly short counter and a stage to the left. All of the signage there was in Spanish, which may put off some non-spanish speaking customers. One look at the menu and you will realize that this is typical no Mexican restaurant. There were lots of authenic Mexican dishes as well as Honduran & El Salvador. Papusas people! The waitress took our orders in spanish (including mine) which i was worried about at first. Luckily, I can understand a decent amount to at least place an order. The carne asada with fried plantains was excellent. The beef burrito was huge with juicy grilled steak inside. We happened to go on a day with live entertainment. The two-man band gave a shout-out to all of the countries represented in the restaurant & sang traditional songs from those countries. They are pretty good, so make sure you leave them a tip in their jar. It is labled "la propina" if you were wondering. Overall good experience. I am not sure why they consider themselves a "Mexican" restaurant because they clearly have Central America covered with their offerings. The next time I go, I will be more adventurous w/ what I order. However, I will make sure its during the day because of the location. Enjoy. read more

Perfect pupusas! The shredded cabbage salad is a well-balanced seasoned surprise! Perfect fried plantain! A refried black bean cup with crumbled queso anejo pairs well with the quick-steamed, refried rice... A perfect dish, for which I will return again. Within a mile of the airport, which is walking distance for most, and 100% guar-an-teed worth it. For many English-only speakers this will be a cultural experience. Get some! read more

Outside looks not so great, inside is clean, spacious & modestly decorated. Food & service are amazing!!!! My friend took me here a while ago when I first moved here for the pupusas but I didn't know the area well & couldn't find my way back. We went there randomly this evening for a friends birthday. there were 11 of us, service was great (the last lady to get food likely didn't think quite as much but 9/11 plates came out at the same time). Definitely an interesting place. Maybe a little run down, wouldn't go alone at night necessarily. The food was pretty good and menu was extensive but I would not say it really stood out in quality from most other mexican places with similar prices, at least what I ordered. My dad got some fish thing that was pretty good but it was a type of fish with a lot of bones.
