The chips and salsa were actually very good. The rest was unfortunately not. (the salsa saved them the 2nd star). The place was a ghost town yet we had to wait a few mins just to get some tables together, staff was not very attentive. Food was bland, we had a big group and the only thing we could agree on was the chips and salsa being good. Awesome authentic Mexican food! Vacationed in JH this August and had to stop by Fiesta for lunch. Right off the plane we picked up a rental and drove here. Just like the other reviews, I will say this place is awesome! I love Mexican food and I really love well made Mexican food. The seating area was sparse, the menu was not huge, but the flavor was. We had Flautas, tacos, Tacos Dorado, a burrito, and fajitas. All were seasoned like they should have, the fried food was crispy, the fajitas were hot and we had plenty of soft corn tortillas for them and the Burrito was very generous in size. If you like mole this is the place to go. I had the Trio Enchilada and each enchilada and its accompanying sauce were wonderful but to me the chicken with mole was the star. Unlike many moles it was not overly spicy but had the right combination of chocolate and spice. My wife had the Chicken Fajitas which were great and the portion was enough for two meals. What a hidden diamond in the rough. This restaurant looks dingy on the outside and within, but don't judge a book by its cover. They serve delicious homemade tortilla chips and salsa, and the enchilada trio was amazing. Excellent service as well. read more

Unassuming restaurant tucked away in a little strip mall. Tortilla chips were warm and yummy, paired with a homemade smoky salsa. Enchilada trio excellent, in particular the mole sauce. Tacos Coranado (I think this was the name) was fresh and flavorful. This dish was shredded chicken wrapped in deep fried tortilla, covered with lettuce and cheese. Rice and beans on the side. I ordered the mango cocktail which was a huge vat of frozen mango slush with a little chili kick and tequila. For such amazing reviews we expected more, a LOT more. Perhaps given the other food options in Jackson the ratings are skewed. The service is very good and that's sadly the only thing we were impressed by. We ordered the guacamole after being told it was fresh & made there. It didn't really seem like it, it was too consistently smooth & very cold. Looked like it had been scooped out of a gallon size bucket with an ice cream scoop honestly. The chips were ok, seemed like they were possibly made there & very corny. I say made there because I got a couple that seemed like they were stuck together with too much oil & that usually doesn't happen with chips unless they've been made fresh. We had the tacos dorados (after being told they were the best dish in Jackson?) and the trio of enchiladas. The beef one was fairly bland and beef chewy, the other 2 were ok. The darkest of the sauces was best, I believe it was the mole. The tacos dorados were frankly lame. Chicken inside was dry & they needed hot sauce to give them any flavor. We're from LA, so we know good Mexican food. Read the reviews on this place and weren't quite sure whether to give it a try or not, but so glad we did. It's hard to find - tucked away in a little strip mall. Don't let the outside intimidate you. And you're definitely not going for the ambience. But the food was wonderful, the margaritas were strong, and the service was great. It's a family-run restaurant. Father, daughter, fiancé. They were lovely. Chips were warm, salsa delicious, guacamole fresh and homemade. It's a total local spot, and we were so glad we didn't judge the book by its cover. Our family of 8 stopped in to try this place. It's a little hole in the wall palace, but it's nice and the staff was friendly. The only thing we didn't care for was the enchiladas with mole sauce. We were looking for good Mexican food, without the cookie cutter look and taste. We settled on this place. The curb side appeal it doesn't have. More like delivery sally port, with the Christmas jalapeño string of lights. Look hard for the glass door. Sort of empty foyer with a simple sign on a marker board. DO NOT BE DISMAYED! Parquet floors, not surrounded by the "looks like Mexico" theme. Simple it is... not what I expected. The owner, very busy guy, very friendly, smiles and engaging. Ask and you will receive. He was the only waiter, and bus boy, cashier. (My observation) We know Tex-Mex. all of us were impressed with the shredded beef enchilada dinner and super big beef burrito, flautas. This menu is simple, and covers the favorites. On the way out a fella holding the door asked "how good is it"? I replied I'm from Texas it's better than good. Friendly service. It's nice that this spot is out of the downtown area so we didn't have to fight and crowds for parking or anything. Excellent chips and salsa, like piping hot chips and delicious salsa, just spicy enough. I had a burrito which was simple and good, but I think I would opt for an enchilada next time. Don't let the location or the building fool you, this is great Mexican food. We passed on the Mexican places in the middle of town, thought we would try Fiesta and we are glad we did. When we first pulled up, all I saw was the small market, the door to the restaurant is back in the corner of the building. Not much to look at but good food and service. Tortilla chips wrote nice and hot. Everything we ordered was very good. Skip the Mexican places in the middle of town and come here! We both had the 3 enchilada plate but substituted the mole sauce for the red sauce on the shredded beef enchilada. They were willing to modify the plate to fit our desires. They were as good as i've ever had & we live in the southwest & have eaten Mexican food for 60 years. The price was great, the shredded chicken was white meat & tasted great as did the shredded beef.
