Well it's not our original plan but one of the best Mexican places I've been to in awhile. The food comes out in very large portions which is always a plus except when you are driving by and don't want the car to smell like a bean burrito for the rest of the trip. We first wanted to eat at Baja Grill but it was closed for the season. So using Yelp I found this place. First impression from the outside was that it seemed too Americanized. When I walked in it was like stepping into Mexico. The decor was very nice and the music was perfect for the atmosphere. I ordered a Margarita and having had a few in my life I knew what makes them good and what makes them less desirable. That had to have been one of the best margaritas I've ever had. It wasn't too sweet and very enjoyable. The only thing I'd say is share it. It was very strong. :) Now about the food. Everything we had was delicious. The enchaladas were all good and the "Super Burrito" I oredered was very good and more than I could eat. Overall I loved my experience and would recommend it. read more

They say the rookie mistake at Mexican restaurants is to fill up on chips and not be able to eat your meal. Well, that's an easy mistake to make here. Portions are huge, and you won't leave hungry. I had the Talpiquena, which is shrimp and steak covered with melted cheese. It was all perfectly cooked and delicious, and they include lots of rice and beans. They also give you a whole stack of tortillas. That's in addition to the previously mentioned chips. The service wasn't overly friendly, but it was very efficient and attentive. My waiter was always keeping the water full and made sure I had whatever I needed. Location is perfect if you're just staying in Moab for a night or two. Excellent place with good high quality food and very attractive prices. Highly recommend and will come again for sure. We ate at Fiesta Mexicana three times and each time ordered something different; each time we enjoyed our meals and services. The only problem with this place is that food is really good, portions are big, and prices are low; so it is very easy to stuff yourself. Ate here for dinner on our first night in Moab. The staff is very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. We both ordered the house margarita on the rocks and mole chicken enchiladas. A terrific casual Mexican restaurant in the heart of downtown Moab. My dining companion and I ate here twice during our five day stay in Moab -- the first night, upon our arrival after a long drive from Capitol Reef Natl Park, and the last night, after two "meh" dining experiences at other establishments in Moab. The first time, the food and margaritas were excellent and the service was great. For our first visit, I ordered the carnitas. It was a huge portion size served with rice, beans, and fresh tortillas. I asked the server to make it dairy free (because lactose) and he offered to swap the refried beans for whole beans. (Yes, refried beans are made with cheese!) My dining companion ordered shrimp sautéed in picante sauce. Both of us were happy with our very tasty and filling selections. For our second visit, the service and the food was just a little off. My tacos al pastored was just as tasty as the carnitas, but our server forgot I'd asked for whole beans and brought the refried version; my wife was not quite as happy with the shrimp dish she tried. Still, between the food and the service it was a better experience than we'd had elsewhere in town the previous two nights. read more

Good mexican food. Really deserves 5 for being in moab. Carne asada and a side chimichanga. The carne asada was dry and I was a bit disappointed that this was the raved about carne asada. I mean seriously, when everyone else is saying this is the best carne asade they've ever had and it comes out looking like a burnt dish rag you lose a bit of faith. However, our waiter (Manuel), brought another steak out to me since he noticed mine was dry. I didn't even say anything and he came out with it. That's great service right there. read more

We haven't been too the southwest in ages so we had a craving for it when we cane ro Moab. Not exactly southwest but it seemed close enough. After finding all the other higher rates places either shuttered or closed on a Monday we went to the Family Fiesta. It was a big letdown. On the good side, the margaritas are tasty and have plenty of tequila. Unfortunately, they are way overpriced. The good is bland at best. I had a combo with enchilada, taco, and tamal. The chicken filling in the taco and enchilada had no flavor at all. The sauce on top was little better. I asked for some hot sauce which helped but good Mexican need to have more than just heat. My wife's mole was the creme de awful. Stay far away. There is some really good canned mole out there so there is no excuse for what showed up. It's like they took a mediocre canned mole, watered it so much it had no flavor then....then, added sugar! It almost tasted more like teriyaki sauce than mole. It's like they thought that surely nobody who showed up has had mole before and wouldn't notice. Two stars is probably generous give the mole but the margarita tasted good. read more

I have had a hard time finding good Mexican food that is better than the stuff I can make at home. This place put together a good fajitas for vegetarians with a great mix of veggies. The free chips & salsa are super with a nice amount of heat. The wait staff could be bit more friendly. Friends ordered the burritos & they are huge. We biked all day & they couldn't finish them. SKIP! I ate here with my husband and our two-year old daughter on a Sunday afternoon. Food: The chips and salsa served gratis was possibly the shining star of the show. It surely got our hopes high. We ordered the veggie combo (enchilada and burritos), veggie chalupa, a side of fries, and a pineapple juice for the baby. The fries were fresh and the juice (probably from a bottle) was good. But the rest of the food was completely passable. Everything was over salted because all the veggie dishes consisted of the same pinto beans. Not good! The veggie combo was served with mexican rice (OK), beans (very salty), and a salad (questionable purple cabbage slaw, which was tasteless) - no sour cream or salsa or guacamole accompanied the dish. However, the chalupa was the worst - the shell reeked of stale oil. We took one bite and put the plate away. Pretty disgusting. Ambiance: Cute southwestern decor which I liked. Service: OK. The people were friendly and polite, and we were seated promptly. However, even when the servers saw our food was mostly uneaten, they did not bother to ask why. We are visiting Moab from San Diego, where we're pretty spoiled with great Mexican food. We didn't have much expectation but thought reviews sounded Ok and we were starving. I want there with my famille. We are all sick after dinner. My boyfriend and I have the same plate and it was not really good and the plate do not give you the desire to try. They are way to big way to full the burrito is convert with salsa and cheese. The test is ok and again i am nice i eat 1/4 of mine so i wasn't to sick. My boyfriend was really sick but eat way more them I. His son that just eat a few bit of his food was a tiny sick. The staff are here for you but forget drinks and them bring way to much drink. Passing through Moab on vacation and wondered if they had vegetarian options. They do. Plenty to select from and the food is really good. Portions are big so you will leave full. Also, I loved their whole decor. Every chair and table has a typical Mexican scene painted on it with bright colors. Genius. I highly recommend this place. read more

One of the better Mexican restaurants in Moab. I had the carne asada which many Yelpers said was the best. I found it a bit tough, though nicely seasoned and cooked well. little guac on side, good salsa, bagged chips. Why does everyone serve bagged chips in this town? Kind of like a non-corporate Acapulco chain. Little better. Not much. Service was fast, helpful, and professional. Hear they have the best margarita in town. Want to dig deeper on the menu and see what else they have to offer. 4 stars due to my experience at another Mex joint in town that was bad. Prob a 2 or 3 in SoCal. I'm not really a fan of Mexican food however when some friends and I were walking around Moab looking for a place to eat on a Sunday evening which didn't have a 45-60 minute wait we were happy to find this place had open tables. I was also happy that in addition to a wide variety of Mexican food I was happy to see that they also have a burger combo for kids and Gringo's. That's what I got and it wasn't bad. The most impressive aspect of this restaurant was the incredibly fast service. The time it took for our ordered to be delivered after being placed was about 10 minutes. The restaurant was absolutely packed and the service staff still did an excellent job at speed and kindness. The food was OK. I felt the rice was on the mediocre side. We were looking for another Mexican restaurant when we came across this one. Boy, are we glad we did. The portions were huge, very flavorful, and the wait staff was friendly, professional and courteous. I love Pollo en Mole. Our local Mexican restaurants don't have it so when I'm on vaca, I try to scope some out. I don't like the super spicy mole. I prefer the sweeter version, this was fabulous. Hubs had the combo platter with shredded beef enchilada and shredded beef flautas. He said the meat was season perfectly. So glad we couldn't find the other restaurant. Our only half complaint was that the salsa was super duper spicy, but I've seen other reviews stating that other restaurants salsa was tasteless...not here.
