I was shocked this restaurant wasn't more packed. Or we just lucked out on timing. After a 7 hour long drive I was aching for a hearty meal. BBQ sounded amazing and I've never had a platter like this before. I couldn't turn down the 3 meat platter to try everything that peaked my interest. Starting with the hush puppies, fried, sweet, and savory. Yum! The brisket was so tender and juicy. The ribs were also tender and fell off the bone. The andouille sausage had cheese throughout it and I felt like it was too oily and fatty from that, but that ended up being my husband's favorite. We devoured the sides too. The beans and mac and cheese were a must. If I had more stomach space I'd eat a dozen more hush puppies. Outdoor seating allows your furiends. Order at the counter and enjoy! If you want a quick, laid-back meal, this is a great spot. Service can be a hit or miss, the girl taking the order wasn't great, but the people who brought out the food and checked in on us were really nice. I really wanted ribs but at 7pm they were all out. Kind of surprising to not be able to get this at a BBQ place but, got the pulled pork meal instead. The pork itself was very well done, and delicious. And really liked that they put all sauces on the side for you to pick and add as much or as little as you want. They have different sides to pick from... mac-n-cheese is usually a must at BBQ restaurants, but I would recommend skipping it here. Not hot, cheesy enough and lacking flavor. Very rustic and cool looking place, patio seating was great with misters all around, very pleasant atmosphere. We shared a 3 meat platter with beans which were bland until we added spicy BBQ sauce and potato salad with hard potatoes, the Mustard BBQ sauce made it better, we chose brisket which was a bit dry unless you douse in sauce, the wings were very big and tasty, the ribs were the best and wished we would of gotten all ribs, 3 small hush puppies were so good, but not enough. Incredible BBQ! We found this place by coincidence - turned down the ring street and it was RIGHT THERE! So we gave it a shot and wow! We were so pleasantly surprised! The brisket was so tender and the pulled chicken had so much flavor! Don't even get me started on the homemade sauces! So yummm! The service was quick! We literally ordered a prickly pear marg and when it arrived (less than 10 min) the BBQ was already being left at our table! Very happy with the western style hospitality and the seating area! Just to preface my review I am not a fan of BBQ however I can recognize if food is good or bad. I personally adore tri tip and brisket. That's just what we ordered along with macaroni and fries. Overall I'd personally rate it at about a 6/10 the food fell apart nicely but it was a little more on the cold side when we received it and it lacked a bit of flavor. Judging from that being the only things I really like from bbq I probably wouldn't go again. My girlfriend liked it as far as I remember. Service was super quick, we ordered and waited about 5 minutes at max. It was standard smokehouse/bbq theming and was clean and organized. The thing I don't like about modt bbq places is the lack of fresh vegetables (think: overcooked greens, gluggy coleslaw). Guess I don't have a Southern bone in my body! Anyway, Spitfire offered a beautiful fresh green salad. Yes! I also got the mac & cheese, but wish I would've tried the mashed potatoes instead. The mac & cheese was ok but not very cheesy. My husband got coleslaw & salad both. We were on a road trip so after numerous meals out you really want something nutritious! We were happy here. The brisket was nice and smokey. But nothing in the menu, the website materials, or anything else indicated that there was jalapeno in the macaroni and cheese, and we were counting on our children eating it so we could enjoy the smoked meats and nice drinks. Whatever the virtues of jalapeno macaroni and cheese, CRYPTOjalapeno macaroni and cheese is a problem. The mac and cheese was mid at best, no flavor and minimal cheese. The fries were below average. The smoked wings were good, but only got 4 of them with the platter. We also got a kids meal with brisket and fries. The food came out shortly after ordering. It looked and tasted good. Allnof the food was good. Our most favorite was the andouille sausage. My friend loved the brisket and thought the pulled pork was okay although a bit dry. The chicken was fine, also a bit dry but they give you several sauces. The cornbread was nicer than the hush puppies, unless you really live hush puppies and have to have fried food; they're fairly small, and don't come with honey. The Mac and cheese was nice and cheesy, but not crispy and did not have bread crumbs, so not perfect. The Cole slaw was more vinegar-ey and not super thick, which was nice. We got the smoke fired chicken wings, 3 from the Pitt, and a Cesar salad. Our sides were Mac and cheese and the French fries. Our meats were the trip tip, brisket, and the sausage. My favorite was the brisket, it was juicy/tender. They have 4 sauces: hot bbq, house bbq, mustard bbq, and Alabama white. My fave of the sauces was the Alabama white which I didn't expect! It's a pretty chill spot, the outdoor patio welcomed dogs and everyone was friendly. Before we left we even came back to use the bathroom before our long drive back to SLC and our waiter saw us and waved. Plates also come with a pair of fried hush puppies which were a welcome addition. Prices feel pretty average, not cheap but you get a nice portion for what you pay. The brisket was superb and was the only one of the three I would probably get again. The chicken was ok, but way too stringy. I understand that it is "pulled" chicken, but it was so fine that I felt like it negatively effected my enjoyment of it. The tri-tip was probably the weakest of the three options. It was just too dry and less flavorful - which should not be a surprise when compared to a fattier meat like brisket. The meats also came with two sides and cornbread. The cornbread is a huge pass - the bottom was also wet in nature - and I wish I would have gotten the hushpuppies instead. For the sides, the mac and cheese was good and the fries were ok. The food came out in (I kid you not) less than 3 minutes. Nice if you are starving, but definitely a sign that all of the food was simply warmed up and not very fresh.
