Fiesta Mexicana - Mexican Near Me - Moab, Utah

We walked into town and were looking for some takeaway that we could carry back to our room. There are quite a few Mexican joints in town and this one fit the bill. We knew the portions would be large so we ordered a meal to split. The Giant Burrito which came with rice, beans, salad, sour cream and guacamole. Though we had takeout, we were also given a large bag of corn chips and a tub of salsa that had a real kick! The meal was fine and was enough for us to share, particularly with the corn chips. It wasn't the best Mexican I have ever had but it tasted fine. For less that $13, it was decent value. read more

My husband and I ate there last night with some friends. He ordered a chicken dish, I had tamales. After getting back to the campground he said his stomach hurt. Not long after we went to bed he starting throwing up and was horribly sick all night. Our friend was also up with an upset stomach (he had chicken too). Veggie burrito is prepared not as printed in menu. In menu, it is supposed to come with grilled peppers and onions. Instead of peppers, it came with broccoli stems, cauliflower, and sliced carrots. We had dinner here during a visit to Moab. The margaritas were excellent and big! The salsa was very spicy and looked homemade. Both my wife and I had enchiladas, which came with refried beans and rice. There were many more exotic choices offered singly or as part of combos. However, we almost always get enchiladas, which means we have had them a number of places. In that regard, these were among the best we have had (and we have had some bad ones, even a plain old enchilada requires some care and skill). Our waiter was friendly and fast. Everything was fine. If you are traveling and in the mood to relax with some good old Mexican food and a margarita, you won't go wrong with Fiesta. read more

Not bad but not great. The chips were good but the salsa OK and the beer cold and served with a lime. I had a chili rellano which is prepared soft the way I like it but this one was a bit spongy, the pepper was wonderful The husband had arroz con pollo and it agreed that the peppers in the meal were good but everything else was OK. I can see how this would be a popular place with those not too familiar with Mexican food and want a good introduction with a good margarita. read more

After a long day of hiking we dropped in for a quick bite, not really expecting too much, but we were pleasantly surprised. I had the super burrito with shredded chicken and it was delicious. Being from the Denver area I was hoping for green chili which they didn't offer, but the green sauce was actually very tasty. The waiter also brought a spicy salsa to add some additional flavor, and that was a bonus. Husband had the mole and said it was one of the best he's ever had. The service was great as well. Margaritas were great, pricey but great! A great way to cap off a long afternoon in the rain, severe flooded roads, falling rocks, mud slides and sharp hairpin curves while in a downpour. I swear this place is identical to the Los Corrales Mexican restaurants in Az. Same decor, same menu, same great food. My chimichanga was delicious, the guacamole was just right, and the Corona was cold. Wife had the taqueria, and really enjoyed them. Her margarita was superb, made with freshly juiced limes and blue agave tequila. All in all, an excellent lunch. 4 stars all day long. read more

We visited Fiesta Americana during our last trip to Moab. This is the best Mexican food we had in months. We travel a lot SFO, LA, Phoenix , Vegas.. but if all the places we have eaten, Fiesta Mexicans rocks. Food is extremely authentic and there is some thing unique about it. May be the way t is made or the way it is served. Hosts and Servers are.m very friendly and makes every effort to ensure you are having a good time. Ate here 2 nights in a row because, let's face it, we wanted margaritas. The first night we had a sullen waitstaff (What is it!?!?!), and the second night we had a pleasant server. This is the most bland Mexican food we have ever tasted. Ordered the Enchilada Suisa and there was absolutely no flavors with either the enchiladas, the beans or the rice. Very authentic looking Mexican location. Truly hoped for something local and was disappointed to find out this place was a chain, however, once I saw they had a location in Mexico my hope were up again. This review perhaps is best done in bullet form: - While chips/salsa and water were filled constantly, was rather annoying to see a different waiter each time. The impression I had throughout the night is that they didnt have their service aspect together. - When ordering entrees, the waiter ran away before we could submit out appetizer order. Wish we didnt eventually flag down another waiter 10 minutes later as the dish came out at the same time as the entrees and was quite pitiful in size. - My entree size wise was also quite small. While the appearance suggested otherwise (low flat dish), there was less meat in my fajitas than I have ever received from the local Tex-Mex eatery back home in NJ. To be fair, the dish was quite tasty... however, I was still a bit hungry afterward. - Value wise, think we paid more than the fancier sit down Mexican joint in Sedona for less food. If it wasnt for the all you can eat salsa, the review would have been lower. In summary, its OK - I have had better. If in town, your better off going to the Moab Brewery instead. read more
