I'm a big,big, BIG Mexican food junky, I'd eat it breakfast, lunch, and dinner 8 days a week,lol. I have eaten Mexican food from The Valley all the way up to Dallas and in multiple other states, so when I see a 4.7 star review, my expectations for the deliciousness are pretty high!! We recently moved into the area and this place came on my radar as a place to try. It didn't disappoint. Stopped in for an early dinner and ordered the tamale plate. I am a longtime fan of tamales, especially the traditional genuine article. That is what I enjoyed here. I plan to come back to experience more traditional items on the menu. After seeing good things on yelp, I decided I needed to try this hole in the wall, and I am so glad I did! I'm one who worries about safety when eating alone in presumably the middle of nowhere, but don't let the location discourage you! I went by myself during lunch with a book in hand and it was great. The woman they had greeting and waiting tables was very sweet and welcoming. Her service was excellent as well, even at the busiest point I was there she had it all handled with ease. Now to the food. Ya'll I have the deepest love for cheese enchiladas and I can honestly say these were some of the best that I have had in a long time! Fiesta Taqueria is a cute little Mexican food place in an unexpected area (right as you leave Huntsville and head towards Livingston). You can tell that the place is frequented by locals, and if you go there enough, everyone will likely get to know you by name. The first time I went there with my husband, not only were we given the complementary salsa and chips, but we got hooked up with queso too just because! The waitress was really helpful in making us feel welcome and giving us the Fiesta Taqueria homey feelings. Food is affordable, and not in a "it's cheap and tastes cheap" kind of way. DO expect great food, speedy service, and a full belly! We were promptly greeted, seated, and had our drinks within minutes. The menu is expansive and slightly overwhelming, but we managed to decide: the Brad's Special for me (some nachos, a small quesadilla, and an enchilada), and the chimichanga for my husband. The food arrived in less than 10 minutes, just enough time to completely pig out on the free-flowing basket of chips and salsa. The food, oh, the food! Rarely do my husband and I both eat our entire meal without taking something home. Not only were our plates completely clean, there was hardly a trace of any evidence whatsoever! The portion sizes were a great value: not too big and not too small. We paid about $25 even after the tip, but both felt very full. We even sprung for sopapillas. Don't skip the sopapillas! One of worse experience in my life. Me and family was seated. Well three other groups where seated after us. The waitress seem to know these groups guessing they are regulars at the restaurant. My first time to go to this place in the three years I've lived here was last Friday. My bf had forgotten about it since it's not near our apartment, but when I mentioned that I had seen it on Yelp, we decided to go. It's kind of a nondescript place in terms of appearance, but that was made up for by the good service and food. I got the 3 tamale plate and he got the 3 burrito plate. Neither of us could finish because we were so full! The salsa was fresh and had a bit of a kick to it, and we both enjoyed it. My co-workers and I called in tacos this week at Fiesta Taqueria and made the mistake of asking for our totals to send money with the person picking our food up. This is what ensued. Buyer beware. Sometimes you overlook a lot of things due to the restaurant being close; however this recent occurance was too much. Asking for the totals aggravated the owner so she told ne it would take her a minute and she phone was laid down (not even placed on hold) for over 7 minutes and had a whole conversation while letting us sit there, then when we asked," hello, is anyone there?" Their response of curseing at me iced the cake for us and I announced that I heard them and they could cancel our order, then I hung up. I received a call back from her asking, "where we were to pickup our order?" I explained to the owner what happened and reiterated what she did and that we cancelled our order. She said," well I made the food." and we are short handed and we weren't really open (We ordered more than 30 minutes after their posted opening time). Then she hung up. At this point we left a review for her restaurant. Then she called back a second time and apologized and said there was no excuse for what she did and we could have free food and she'd buy us lunch sometime. We simply said ok and hung up. We discussed the treatment and will never step foot in this restaurant again. Then we noticed the abuse on the review from the restaurant. I was told I was "lieing", and "o sweetie Monday will be better" then they edited and deleted their comments, only to replace them with ones just as offensive. They said they would not stoop to my level (by the waitress) and I was told, "I misheard" and "was a fat, nasty, trashy, axx who needs to get my food elsewhere." Astonishing. While they no longer allow it, in the past people wrote or sketched on the walls. It is a time capsule of sorts; it really makes you wonder where those folks are now.
