This a cool little spot, it's across from Sam Houston State University. We had a couple of beers and wanted a little snack. We ordered the George platter and this was more than a little snack, this could have fed at least 4 - 5 people. My co-grandma (we share our grandbabies ) and I stopped at Humphrey's in Huntsville to enjoy the perfect patio weather, and we're so glad we did. Our waitress was absolutely adorable - super sweet, attentive, and made the whole experience fun. We told her to surprise us with an appetizer, and she brought the Southwest eggrolls, which were amazing. After that, she kept the surprises coming: choosing our margarita flavors, picking my burger, and even deciding between fries and onion rings. Every choice was spot-on! The burger was huge and delicious, and the nachos were basically a full taco salad. Great food, great service, and a great patio. Highly recommend! This was a random stop for food. The weather was getting bad, but we were able to sneak in meal on the outside patio before lightning started going off in the sky and the rain started to come down. This is a bar/restaurant across the street from University of Houston (UH). The bar was packed and the outside patio was half filled, and I believe that was due to the weather. The food was hot and tasty. The staff was friendly and there seemed to be more wait staff than servers, but they all worked their behinds off. A surprisingly great college type bar and restaurant across from Sam Houston State University. We could not have had any better service from our awesome server Michaela. This place played great and loud music with the titles displayed on their electronic boards as entered . Michaela quickly took our drink orders and had them back with refills often. My order of lemon pepper wings were generous in portion size with mostly large chunk of perfectly cooked chicken lightly breaded. I typically stray from fried foods but even their large French fries seasoned to perfection were irresistible. My fave Yelper got the fried catfish platter that was large enough for a hungry linebacker after a superbowl game. The hushpuppies were delicious with a small bite size crunchy crust . We love sitting outside and today the weather is just perfect. Music playing, breeze blowing. You can't come to Humphrey's without having a Red Rocket so sweet, like frozen koolade. Our favorite appetizer is the spinach artichoke dip with garlic and pita so we started with it. I haven't had the shrimp and fish so I wanted to try it. It never showed up. Our server said it was on the way 3 times. Service was very poor. My son's food came out at least 10 minutes before my burger. Before the burger came, our server came by and grabbed my empty drink. I thought she would bring me another tea. When my food was dropped off, I asked for a tea and side of ranch. Neither ever came. We had to stop our server to ask about my wife's food again, my tea and ranch. My wife decided to cancel her order because we needed to get back in the road. And I still remember when they forgot my fries after being told twice to give me my side of fries all while my friends already gotten their food with their side of fries. I can't really complain since the drinks were on special but they don't specifically mention what until you get there and order. Signage can say or the menu add can display "HeY bEeR fOr $2 dOLLhAiRs aNd yOu CaLL ItS fOr $5" and then you ask and the waitress is all "uhHhH....iDk" so that was misleading but it wasn't too bad you have to really ask them beforehand what's what to get the deal. It's small inside so you're kinda stacked in each other once it gets crowded. But they do try to get to you quick if there aren't too many people at the bar. Restrooms are a 1 person toilet. This is the staple of Huntsville-- probably the only reason to visit huntsville if you don't go to SHSU. But on top of that the food is great, and the server Kaila is soooo sweet and thoughtful and every time I go I have her as my waitress because she's so efficient and hardworking. Food is great! Ambiance is phenomenal but service was ATROCIOUS on St Patty's day. We started off with a waitress getting our drink order around 7:00, we told her we were a party of 14. She got us waters while we waited for the other half of our party. We got actal drink orders in around 7:05, and food orders for 3/7 of us around 7:15. 7:25 rolls around and we moved to a different table to be closer with the other half of our party who just sat down. She comes back to take orders of 3/7 of the initial party. Leaving one guy out. The first 3 got our food around 7:55-8:00 and began eating, meanwhile half our party had not even seen a waitress or got drink orders in. 8:20 comes and we had asked 2 waitresses and a busboy if the other half of our party could be helped. 20 min and no one came. Mind you a party of 7 of the waitresses and busboys were sitting next to us, chitchatting between taking tables. I asked one of them if they could help. One very nice young lady took drink orders. 30 min pass and no one came to take food orders. They bring out drinks, 2/7 of them are wrong. At this time the first 3 people who came were done eating. We asked for the check, and it took 30 min between the first and third check to come out. Around 8:40, I got up and spoke to another waitress, who gave me the run around. Finally someone came and took food orders. They brought food out pretty quick the 4th time around, ~15 min, but only 6/7 of them because they "ran out of cheesesteak. I spoke to the manager, I asked him if he could take the mandatory gratuity off because an hour wait for service is not acceptable. He said he couldnt, and never got back to me with a solution or how he'd handle it. He went and chewed out the wrong girl. Spent 2 hours there over an hour was waiting for service to come take orders and get the bill. Service could be better but management is outrageously horrible. read more

They were out of lemon pepper so we opted to try the garlic Parmesan. They were strong on the Parmesan and both flavors of wing did get soggy before we came close to finishing.
