If they make an error -- they do not stand by their work -- they blame it on you -- and then throw up their hands and say their is nothing they can do it about. They will refuse to meet you even half-way in terms of attempting to make something right. In addition, once you find an error and you start peeling back the onion, you will find out they attempt to overcharge you (in my experience about 20-30% over identical product direct from manufacturer), continue to try to sell you products you do not want (and make sure they are not itemized in the quote so you have to tease out the prices) and generally offer incredibly poor customer service as soon as an issue arises (have to buck it up the chain -- they say they want to help, delay a couple days -- then say they cannot). In short, if you choose to deal with them, be incredibly careful. They do not care about their customers (and I hate to say I have spent over $50,000 with them, paid every invoice within a week of receiving it -- so who knows how they would treat a smaller customer). I wish you success in your project an hope this review was helpful. In summary -- buyer beware -- you are on your own -- even when Milford drops the ball.

I emailed my experience to the General Manager, and only got silence. Milford Lumber has plenty of competition that's willing to go the distance. If I had bought from them and needed customer support, it's pretty obvious from this experience how that would've gone! Avoid this company -- there's plenty of others to choose from.

The skinny older guy with glasses and beard was totally unhelpful. First I waited at the paint counter and he walked by 3 times and didn't say a thing to me. I finally stopped him and said I need help choosing a stain. Every time I asked a question he said "I guess, if you want to". The I ask about waiting to stain between coats. He said, "read the back of the can" and walked away. I ended up with another customer helping me pick which stain and roller to use. He did mix the stain but started having a conversation with someone else. I waited awhile after the shaking machine stopped before interrupting his conversation. This is why so many people will go to big box locations. I won't be going back.
