Crew and Job were done with speed and accuracy for what I wanted but the overall quality wasn't great. Less than a year and the top is flaking off being tracked into the house. There are sections that still soft that even a 30lb chair will sink into the pavement on an 85 degree day. The asphalt also is higher than my garage floor which is at the top of everything so when it rains water will come under the doors. The price was better than others quoted but maybe the value could have been better? I did reach out via email asking for how the driveway could be fixed before posting the review. No response was given.

My grandfather wanted me to write a 5 star review for this company because he recently had work done in his driveway which required the services of Tarmac Paving. He said they were very friendly, fair-priced and treated him, an ex-Vietnam vet, with respect while they did the job. He also planned to have a sidewalk done out front which they have come back to do today for him! He is very satisfied with this company and would definitely recommend to others! read more

The worst job ever done on my driveway - the customers giving 5 stars need to wait one year and they will see their driveway peeling. Job was not completed - Tarmac did not seal cracks but did state he would come back to finish - yes, I did pay him for a completed job. I had lost my usual guys business card and recently found it- so now I am back with Liquid Blacktop, Gary Stanley 603 235-5818 - have used him for nearly 30 years. read more

I was approached by them to have my driveway done. They had extra tar and could do it that day. I asked for a written estimate. None provided. I found them very pushy. When asked for my help for the job next door they were upset with my answer. Next day when they came again to work on a very small driveway, they parked in front of mine. When I had to leave I pointed to my car and their truck and asked one of the crew to move it. No matter what I did I was ignored. Only when I backed out inches from their truck did they finally move it. Would I have them do my driveway? Absolutely not. The one they did looks awful. I called 8 paving companies to obtain estimates on my three space driveway. Three never called back. Three said the job was "too small" and one said "we can get to you in May 2022". Tarmac took my info and within an hour Howard called me to arrange a time to come by that day for the estimate. As discussed he came by that day and gave me a much much more than fair estimate for the work. We scheduled a time and day and his crew arrived on time as discussed. They got set up, went to work and kept me updated every step of the way. I spoke with the whole crew. They were very pleasant, very respectful of my property and a pleasure to meet. They did the job, did it well and provided me with all the info I would need to care for and maintain my new driveway. You have a ridiculous number of options when it comes to paving, but do yourself a favor, and call these guys. read more

The good - Called in to get an estimate from answering service to call back was very quick - was asked about being able to do the work next week as they would be in the area. He said he'd be at my house at specific time later that afternoon. The bad - He calls 5 minutes prior to the appointment - asks me what time he said he would be at the house. I tell him in 5 minutes. Pause.... Um, I told two people I'd be somewhere at the same time so I wont be there for another 20 minutes - I tell him ok - I'll be here. 30 minutes later - which is fine, I get a call. He would not even get out of his truck and come to the door. He did not even get out and measure prior. He calls me and makes me come out to him as he sits in his truck. ????? Service level?? I stand out there in front of the truck waiting for him to get out. When do you want to do this? he asks me. Surprised as I thought he was the same that told me earlier that it would work next week - I asked, were you not the person I spoke to earlier? He said yes. I said we spoke about next week? you told me that would be good because you are working here next week? was that not you? Yes, I was just checking he said. He measures the section in front of the garage. I ask if he had measured the length of the driveway as that is the vast majority of the job. I have a long driveway and fairly (for both parties), it should be measured. He tells me he is going to hop in the truck and write it up. I wait outside as he sits in his truck. After a few minutes he pops out and tells me the number. Ok - I ask what are they charging per sqft? He tells me what they charge for a shorter normal driveway and then the much lower rate is they are charging me for mine as it is a larger job. Ok - so how many square feet did you estimate mine as? Just trying to validate what I am being told. He tells me - you have to be atleast. xxxx I quickly do the math in my head - Based on his numbers my cost should have been 60% of what he gave me - and I would have gladly signed up right there. I question him - said the numbers do not match. He does not redo the math and check - which tells me his cost per is not honest. He gets defensive and asks if I have received other quotes. Maybe the work might be solid, but their front end sales process/customer service let alone respect is a single star. No way. read more

I hired Asphalt Specialists to extend my driveway, in addition, they sprayed the existing driveway with 'liquid asphalt'. It was dark when I returned from work so I didn't see their work until the next day. What a horrible job! the newly paved area was coarse - not top coat, and it was bumpy as hell and bowl shaped. The liquid asphalt application was applied by unskilled laborers. I had heard good things about this company, but I was extremely disappointed. The crew they used was both lazy and incompetent, the foreman, Zach, should not be allowed to work unsupervised and training should not be conducted at the customer's expense. Can't recommend this company. read more

Groundwork's crew were awesome from the initial quote process to final completion. Christian was great in the sales process and Mikah Ramos and Mickey Snip were excellent in the solution. They removed all the old insulation along with the rodent waste, cleaned out our crawlspace and sealed it all up to prevent rodents from coming in. Worksite was left cleaner than when they arrived and they were super efficient. Price wasn't the cheapest but it was fair value (they do have a good and easy 0% interest financing option) and they were able to schedule the work much sooner than other places. They extended to the side of our garage for added parking. the old asphalt and grass was was rolled then a dump truckload of laid leveled and rolled then a beautiful 3 inch coat of asphalt to finish up for a beautiful look.Thomas and Howard, two brothers who were wonderful to work with. They were informative and they through each step on the day. They did the work with my family. They continue to check with us to make sure that we were happy with the that was being done and if we needed anything changed. We first met Howard the owner when he came to give us an estimate. He was extremely busy but took the time to give us an estimate the same day. gave us an excellent price. He said the crew will arrive at 7:00am on Thursday and sure enough the following Thursday the crew showed up at 6:45 and went right to work. We were so impressed on the detail of the whole job that was performed with our driveway. We explained to Howard about our biggest concern was the water running into our basement every time it rained heavy. The crew did an amazing job. Loved that they showed up in a mask, as safety is number one right now. Everything was great, except a few small snafus, including waiting a little longer than usual given COVID. I totally get that can't be helped right now... The job was a bit of a hassle project but the owner reassured me in his capabilities that no obstacle is bigger than him and his crew.
