After a travel mixup left my partner and I needing a place to spend an hour with all of our luggage, this place was a godsend. They had no issue with us taking up a big table with our bags, which was crucial because staying outside in the sun wasn't an option for us. They were cheery and the music was great (and at a good volume) and the A/C was nice and chill. If you have all day long to get a coffee, this is the place to come. The croissants were great and drinks were good but the experience was not worth the cost. It was IMPRESSIVELY slow. I actually didn't know it was possible to make a bagel sandwich that slowly. That takes talent. The first day I came in we waited 45 minutes for a coffee and our croissants. I gave them the benefit of the doubt since it was busy and the barista was new. Came today for a second try and there were 5 people in the whole restaurant yet it took an hour to get our bagel (although our coffee only took 20 minutes this time). That is ridiculous and unacceptable for the $100 we spent. There is no excuse for that. Not to mention the hour we wasted sitting in a coffee shop instead of outside on this beautiful island. If they want to survive as a business they need to make some improvements. I'd rather spend my money for adequate to bad coffee than waste hours here. They have the coffee, the food, and the ambiance to be great but the service needs to improve if they want to survive. read more

My family and I wanted to go to the restaurant next to this one but it was too packed, so a staff recommended we go here. It was pretty late (around 8:50), however we saw a few others eating there and drinking at the bar. When we arrive we're met with an incredibly rude waiter who asks us, "do you want food or something" in a stank tone... when we say yes the waiter rolls his eyes and goes to the back of the restaurant. I completely understand if it was too late and therefore wouldn't be enough time to serve us, but maybe that could have been verbally said to us instead of being rude and acting like a sissy... we only came here after the very nice lady at hanks recommended this place to us... if it wasn't for her we wouldn't have came at all. So glad another coffee shop opened up on the island. The drinks are great. We tried different drinks and we can say eveything is great! One of the best parts is that you don't have to stand in and extremely long line wrapped around the corner to wait for mediocre coffee. Good and fast service. Attitude and Service was terrible. My daughter in law ordered a peppermint latte that must have been made wrong because it did not taste like one (she has had plenty at other coffee shops but not this one). Staff was rude and belligerent as she politely asked if maybe it was made wrong. They finally remade the drink and insisted she taste it before she left the counter. She did and it was scalding hot and burnt her mouth, but at least it was made better. It's too bad everyone in our party thought the coffee was decent. Will not be returning. Great little coffee and wine and beer bar. Went here for a drink and some light dinner and were really impressed with it. I was a little concerned at first that food would be not great because it doesn't look like a full kitchen set up. However, I was wrong! The cook was on point. He was knocking out really good food. The wine was tasty and chilled to the right temp. They looked like they had some good beer selections. We had the poke bowl, the wasabi Cesar and the mushroom galette. All the food was delicious and flavorful. The portions were great. The mushrooms in the galette had great layers of flavor. We will go back here again on this trip for sure. read more

My only complaint is that there is not more of this place. If the menu was broader I would go all the time, but it's an amazing place for tapas and drinks. The meatballs and burrata are to die for. Not sure why someone said it's all frozen food. It's not. Even the whipped cream for the desserts is made from scratch and delicious. The coffee set up is super impressive! Since 2013 I've been a patron of this location and am thrilled with the new owners. Was staying at Bali Hai for a long weekend and on my way off the island stopped here for an iced cold brew with oat milk and a feta tomato omelette. When I returned for pick up I saw a mini coffee cheesecake and had to have that, too. I look forward to returning for dinner and wine. read more

We've now been here five times, at different times of day, trying as much of the menu as possible. First, the pros. It's a terrific addition to the neighborhood. I wish there was one of these in Anna Maria, and in Bradenton itself. Great idea, great choices. The breakfast burrito without eggs is wonderful, not at all greasy, more like an Australian sandwich/wrap than a regular burrito. Guacamole is quite good, though the avocado toast was pretty skimpy when it came to the actual avocado. Espresso is very good, iced coffee likewise and just the perfect strength. The gentleman who does most of the cooking (at least, when we've been there) is nice to deal with, appropriately concerned and straight forward about wait times. The grouper sandwich has the hugest piece of grouper we'd ever seen on a sandwich, and that includes every single place on island. Be forewarned - it really IS made fresh, and takes a little while. Well worth it, definitely enough for two to share. The cons. Avoid the roast beef at all costs. We'd expected deli-style and instead got stringy gristle-filled cheap beef we ended up throwing out. You'll do better getting a sandwich at Publix. The only places we'd seen RB of this low quality before was at cheap food and gas marts. The waitress - who blithely ignored our table of several women and one man - eventually made her way over to us, long after the chef had put in our order. It was doubly annoying because she'd quickly served an all-male table. Then we had to listen to her loudly and rudely complain to her boss after he criticized her using a dirty mop head without following up by using a clean one. She made excuses, whined, got angry, all within earshot of every patron in the place. Someone should have taken her outside or to the back of the restaurant. We realize help on island is difficult to come by, but an experienced manager would have dealt more efficiently with her instead of allowing an argument in front of people trying to eat. We'll be back because over-all the place is really good and we'd like to support it, but it still has a little ways to go! read more
