    The wonder taps of Figurehead
    Marcus S.

Doing a little Brew/bar hopping with my buddy, we stopped in here just for drinks. Figurehead is amongst a lot of new restaurants and businesses opening up along with the many apartment buildings to compliment them. The bartender was friendly and eager to give out pours and samples but not of the IPAs drew me in. I had the Salmon Bay which has a light profile, but perhaps it was a bit too light, more like a mosiac IPA. I also got a Queen Anne's revenge IPA. Her revenge must be to not be a very good beer because it too was a bit stronger but still pretty disappointing among the many IPAs out there. This may be the first brewery in a while where my pours were all around lackluster. I'd consider coming back but with Fremont Brewing just down the street and many other drinking spots, I'm not too sure. I figure Figurehead is still new so many with some time they'll improve their drafts as the menu makes additions and adjustments.

Elmer's Midday Lager, a wonderful Japanese Rice Lager from Figurehead Brewing!

Returned to Figurehead Brewing after quite a bit of time has passed by. This was my first time to the Stone Way location and I liked the beer I ordered very much! It was called Elmer's Midday Lager which is a Japanese Rice Lager. I really like this type of lager a lot and this one is no exception at all. It was an excellent one! Flavors with this awesome light bodied lager are dry, crisp and a toasty aspect to it. This lager is also very effervescent which I can appreciate as well. This is out of all likelihood my favorite beer from this brewery at this point.

The bartender was great. They do check ID for everyone to order so be ready to present it regardless of age or appearance. The vibe is chill and friendly. They also have a nice beer garden I mostly had to myself. There's two food areas in back that rotate days. I tried the sushi and teriyaki place since it was a Monday and it was also pretty good and came in cute bamboo boats. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable and I enjoyed my saison too.

Delicious rice lager and Belgian single!

Pretty mediocre drink selection. Space is cool, overpriced but decent food available. Understaffed.

The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking this place out! My friend's fiancé has celiac, and this is pretty much the only place where he can freely order anything without worrying about getting glutened, paying extra for GF options, or having to sacrifice good food. We've been twice now, and both times the food has been amazing. You genuinely wouldn't even know it's gluten-free! I'm coming again this weekend, so I'll add pictures afterward! Please open a location up north! Sincerely, someone who would come here way more regularly if I didn't live so far away. Oh, and they also have an amazing dog-friendly outdoor area AND a private area upstairs. We've been to both, and both are great!

Fish tacos were okay, nothing stand out, but doesnt really go with the drinks. Fried onion rings were crispy and good, and korean chicken bites were a bit too sweet but goes well with a milkshake LOL Good for large groups, but it's hard to get a table when the sun is out bc it gets that busy. Very social ambiance. Service was quick and efficient- you order and get the drinks, but they bring the food out to you. A little too buttery though. The venue was large and delivered the view of the lake on a platter (but that is Seattle). The vibe was lively -- loud blasting music and a ton of people. But...not worth the excessive 45 minute wait after being in line for 15 min. We ordered right after our friends and while I sampled 2 tastes of beer, that took all of 2 min Our almost identical order to theirs came out 20-30 min after theirs. We went up 3 times to check where it was, because the first time (at least 20 min after our friends got their order) the guy told us it was 2 tickets away. More like 20 tickets since we watched order after order being delivered elsewhere... not ours. My husband went up for the second time and never got an answer. And so I went up a third time and was livid as another half dozen+++ orders went by. The frustrating thing is we paid up front and left a 20% tip on the worst food service ever. We have learned our lesson and won't do that again. Recognize it's not just the server it's the entire service...from what happened to our ticket, our food prep and delivery to our table? I doubt I'll make the effort to go back. Because I can pay the same $59 (2 single patty burgers, 2 beers, 1 fries, 1 onion rings) for similar or better food, fantastic views with much better service. Also, they knew but did nothing to make our experience better.
