Wish I could rate less in all honesty. This place used to be an amazing stand to go to, the girls were always nice and up beat and got things done quickly. Today was god awful, I made them aware of the fact that due to allergy reasons I could only have a small amount of cream in my drink, after sitting for 7 minutes for 1 drink to be made it had so much cream in it that it was thick. I asked them if they could re make it and they looked at me like I was dumb. I then watched them pour it into another cup and give it back saying there was less cream. There was not. I'm unsure if these blond women are new hires but they need further training. It's going to run this stand in the ground I'm so completely disappointed by their lack of customer service skills and their attitudes. Do better. read more

Terrible service and the coffee I got this morning burnt my mouth. I picked it up and drank after almost 10 minutes and it still boiling hot. I have blisters on the roof of my mouth and skin is peeling; am not able to eat or drink anything. The coffee was terrible too. Horrible quality. read more

The coffee was fabulous but service....yikes. There were three baristas working, and two of them were in a constant conversation with each other, showing each other stuff on their phone. Our barista actually stopped making our drinks a few times so that she could turn around and keep chatting with her friend. Super frustrating to wait for almost ten minutes for two mochas. read more

Always a pleasure coming here on a grumpy morning, I cannot remember their names for the life of me HOWEVER it's 2 baristas that were there today. Tall, blonde lady with glasses, blue eyes & the second one I believe is named Kelsey? Shorter girl with brown hair, distinct facial features. I see them more then the others but I believe a shorter, curly brown hair lady I see is there more so often then not as well. I actually went to HS with her and enjoy catching up here and there. * They have memorized my order by heart now which is listed below. They are always lending a smile & laugh or two when I come up. They even gave my friends dog a treat & have such kind spirits. * They always make the coffee right & engage in conversation regardless of what's going on (even when they're slammed!!!) I don't think I'll ever leave a review less then 5 stars it deserves 10! Go there!! The prices are reasonable compared to Starbucks and all the other larger colorations. We need to support these smaller businesses and provide the credit they deserve!! read more

I live next to seven coffee stands, and I've tried them all and they all sucked! After telling myself I'm never going to another coffee stand (and sticking with Starbucks because they're consistent) I went out of my way to try Filbert Rd Espresso and I don't regret it! I'm a barista myself and when I tell you these girls make great coffee, it's great coffee! I tried it yesterday in the afternoon, fantastic! And I tried it again this morning and my drink is consistent and delicious! I give it 4 stars for the only reason being; my drink price was cheaper yesterday than it was today (I ordered the same way I did yesterday) but honestly as a barista I can tell that's a mis communication between staff and company. I was a bit surprised to see that their menu didn't include a simple, delicious breve. They allowed me to order it anyway, which was nice. I had an 8oz double breve with almond flavoring. Oddly, they do not serve 8oz. drinks, so I received my drink in a 12oz. cup which was a little too topped off with half & half for my taste. There wasn't even the most subtle hint of almond. It's possible they forgot it altogether? I was basically left with a muddled down coffee milk. The customer service leaves much to be desired as well. As others have said, the baristas aren't that friendly. One was much nicer than the other but, I felt like more of an annoyance than a paying customer. The coffee, service & prices at Mama Bear's at Thrasher's Corner are a thousand times better. They also accept ApplePay where as Filbert Road does not. This has become my families go to coffee. It is worth the 30min walk, 10min bike ride and we go out of our way passing other options to stop here on our way back home. First and foremost the baristas know how to make coffee. I never get burnt coffee or burnt milk. My coffee tastes amazing and has made me stop frequenting other less consistent places. Their staff are great. They are always friendly while still multitasking, offering up great suggestions, remembering us from previous trips and always in an upbeat mood. I had the dirty chai and it was amazing. At other places the dirty chai has a strong taste but not here. The barista was polite and quick.

I have been coming here for about 2 years. It is conveniently located on my way to work and it's super easy to get in and out of from Filbert Rd which is a huge plus. I keep coming back for the excellent customer service and the AMAZING coffee. I've worked in coffee shops and have been a long-time appreciator of a good brew, and this place hits a home run every single time. My go-to drink is an iced Americano, and I actually crave their perfectly balanced roast when I haven't had it in awhile. Their espresso shots are perfect and frothy, and they are FAST. Their trivia is fun (when I can get the question, some are real tricky!) and it's nice that you can earn 25 cents off, but definitely not necessary. Their espresso machine runs hot (which is probably the key to their excellent espresso), but they are very accommodating and make sure to notify you of the temperature, usually offering to throw some ice cubes in if you want a cooler beverage. Overall, this place has great coffee, great customer service, and great prices. Definitely check it out! read more

I'd rather go without coffee than stop here. This place is absolutely terrible. The baristas are Rude. The owner does not know how to train employees in proper customer service. I am consistently charged more than the prices that are listed on the menu. I have to show them the menu price and ask them to correct the charge before I pay. Otherwise, I'm overcharged. When I point out the inconsistent charges they don't even apologize. They just act annoyed! Like I'm causing them a problem. Awhile back I gave them a bad review and received a coupon for a free coffee. When I went to redeem the coupon, the employee frowned and claimed that they don't accept any coupons! I showed it to the barista on my phone and she reluctantly and begrudgingly gave me my free drink. Keep in mind, this free drink was their chance to redeem themselves! To win back a customer! Not only did they not win me back as a customer, they solidified that I will never be back! What a disappointment. I live within walking distance, but drive way out of my way to go elsewhere. I'm waiting for the day that they go out of business so that someone new will take over. read more

I've been here a few times now and it's been gross every time. The baristas aren't very friendly, which I usually don't mind that but they give off a better-than-you vibe. I've gotten sugar free flavors and regular flavors. The sugar free was inedible. And the regular syrup wasn't much better. They also make the coffee way too fast - like how do you pull shots and make the drink in that short of time. I'm suspicious. I'm really picky about coffee. Having worked in the coffee industry for years I'm really particular about the roast chosen and how shots are pulled. I'm always leery of stand alone coffee stands because they tend to either have poorly done roasts or don't know how to properly pull shots- leaving them burnt or too young. This stand is awesome! I love the roast that is brewed, it's smooth and yet has a great flavor. I've never had incorrectly pulled shots! I drink americanos so it's extremely obvious when shots are bad- never happened here! They also have a great variety of sugar free syrups which is awesome! Love this coffee stand and will be a regular from here on out! read more

This place has been one of my safe spaces since they've opened. The baristas are great. I've never had an issue here. Out of the hundreds, maybe even thousands, of times I've been here the only "bad" drink I'd gotten was from a new barista that would go on to make my drink better than some of the more seasoned baristas elsewhere. They're committed to serving you a good drink. If your drink was bad or the baristas are rude to you, it's probably because you order a no foam cappuccino or something that literally doesn't make sense. The girls reciprocate what you give them. And once you become a regular, they become your friend. My one and only issue with FRE is the lack of a rewards system. But that is out of the baristas control. 5 stars read more

Don't think the hours posted on here are accurate. I had been craving a Red Bull Italian Soda and drove up at 7:00pm one night and 6:50pm another night. They were closed even though Yelp says they close at 8PM. The second time, the girl was still inside but the open sign was off. The one time I've been here and it was ACTUALLY opened (GASP) the girl was so cold and disinterested. My drink (Lucky Charm) was also gross. The lack of enthusiasm and kindness expressed by the employees seems to be a common theme in these reviews. read more

I've only been about 7 times, wish I could go more because it's walking distance from my house. But I've been going out of my way to just go to Gourmet Latte instead. Its funny that the first review of 5 stars, is from one of their own baristas! Chelsea! Lol... I've been through this new stand and its by far friendly. The girls are snotty and speak enough to get your order and hope for a tip. Beyond that, no... hi, how are you, what are you up too, would you like whip cream or straws....nothing. What can I get you is the only conversation! I use to be a regular at the previous stand in this location and its sad to see that the owners didn't hire one girl back to the neighborhood espresso! I miss the fun and friendly smiles upon arrival. I have gone through the stand 3 times now hoping the experience would change but it hasn't. Coffee wasn't the worst but it was on the burnt side which was tasted through the white chocolate. Not recommended unless they start hiring baristas that actually know coffee and customer service! There is a reason why there is never a line of cars or cars grabbing coffee period! read more
