Went here last minute to get my nails done for a last minute event. Salon was very cute and had a cute boutique to shop in. The owner was very nice (she did my nails) however my first nail broke within 2 hours of leaving the salon(right before my big event), the second broke the next morning. Very disappointed as my nails were cute and I was very happy with them but they were entirely too thin to last. Had to get a new set the day after I got them. read more

First nail salon I have tried since moving to City Park. Although the price of a manicure ($16) seemed expensive (compared to Atlanta), I was impressed that the mani lasted for a week. I moved here recently and have been looking for a good nail place to get my toes done. I wish I had listened to the lesser reviews. I actually do like pink when done well but truelly I have to agree with the tacky pepto bismal review. However, having different taste than myself is not worthy of a bad review. My 1 star is actually due to lack of hygiene. The tools are not cleaned between clients and were dirty, the towels looked dirty, the massage was almost non-existent, and honestly I couldn't even find the place at first because from the outside it looks like a consignment shop. The overall place wasn't completely filthy by any means but it wasn't clean or fresh. Although the bowls are portable and theoretically sanitary, I watched different ladies clean them and it wasn't done well, or even like anyone cared. Also they use glass pebbles in the bottoms of the bowls, and coupled with a lack of thorough cleaning between clients, was definitely unsanitary, borderline gross. I should have known better... fairly immediately following this pedicure I suddenly had athletes foot (which I haven't had since Highschool gym). Even if you don't mind the poor sanitary conditions and bad taste in decor- you can get a pedicure in these circumstances for less. Shame because the concept and location has potential. read more

Got a shellac manicure here and Rachele's work blew the competition out of the water. She took her time and was so focused on every little detail that it turned out to be hands down the best manicure I've ever had, shellac or otherwise. Her work alone is going to make me a repeat customer. I have to say I think I've found my regular nail joint. Upsides: fresh flowers in your soak water, really sweet ladies who are smart and funny and make you feel welcome, whether you feel like being part of the conversation or just feel like relaxing quietly Downsides: the pink decor is a little much, and while the website mentions $5 off on one link, and $3 off on another, I only got $3 off as a first time customer. (which really isn't that big of a deal--they should probably just change the incorrect page.) Even the downsides couldn't make me take even half a star away from this place. Seriously. Last year I was looking for a place that was open on Sunday, and I'm so thankful that I found this place! I will never go to another nail salon again. Heather is the ABSOLUTE BEST!! I've never been to someone so good with acrylics. Not only do my acrylics look natural and perfect, but they never use any type of drills here that ruin your actual nails. This salon is cute, clean, affordable and has all the girls that work here are great. They truly care about you as a customer, and they want you to enjoy your experience here (unlike some salons where they try to get people in and out as quickly as possible). Rachelle does an amazing job on my acrylic rebases. Everything is done by hand, so no Dremel tools to do the basic filing--just a little under my nails if I need it. She is such a perfectionist and I am grateful. It's a time investment: plan to be there between 1h15 and an hour and a half...but also plan to not have any lifting, breaking, etc at all and only have to go back for fills and color! read more

Classless and unprofessional. Would not recommend anyone going there. Been a customer for months, Maureen the Owner is a very unpleasant and Greedy woman who takes no accountability for overscheduling or cleaning, filthy conditions, horrible energy and is mad if you don't buy her tacky overpriced cheap cloths. Scheduled for a fill weeks before my appointment. I picked the appointment time. When I showed up at 1.50 for my 2.00, I was told the owner had changed it to 2.15 and she called me? Went into the salon after waiting outside for 25 minutes at my new appointed time to find Richelle still rubbing someone's feet not close to being completed with her other appointment. I then asked Richelle how could she let this could happen? When she was the one to schedule the time, on Sunday when I had family obligations and was leaving town? Did not raise my voice but was upset. The owner Maureen waits, to let me wait even longer outside and comes outside and starts ranting and says the customers were very upset after my confrontation! and tells me she is cancelling my appointment. Stay clear.( I had already told them that it was my last appointment ) Just because people like dogs doesn't mean there nice! read more

So I almost feel bad giving these guys only three stars. The girls there are so nice and they do a good job. They have minx and shellac and it's cool to have those options. But, the place is not clean. It just feels gross when you walk in. They don't sanitize the feet and hand soaking dishes properly. They soak your feet in these cool tubs with marbel things on the bottom, but then they just put soap in afterwards. So they leave all those marbles in there for god knows how long. If the place were given a good scrub down and they santitized properly I would go back, but it probably won't happen. read more

Had a pedi/shellac mani here a few weeks ago. Pedi was very nice, they use large movable foot bowls that they then clean out very well after each client. Tools are also put aside for each client so I feel this is a very clean environment. Was not pleased with my shellac, asked for French and it didn't come out professional looking, more like if I had tried myself. Would have been better if I just asked for a solid color. Stayed on fine I just didn't like the French. Also my cuticles were not trimmed properly so it just didn't have the professional clean look that I like. The cost was very high, $80 for both services yikes! read more

I called this afternoon around 12, and was offered an appointment at 6:30 with Heather. I had mixed feelings after reading reviews, seeing as this place was new to me as well but thankful they managed to get me in on such short notice. Realizing I was out of options and time I went in a little unsure. But I was pleasantly surprised to say the least, Heather is an absolute dream. Such a sweet disposition and an absolute professional. I wanted pointed nude tips, and she exceeded my expectations. I will be back back to File-n-Style for all of my nail needs. read more

My girlfriend and I decided at the last minute on a Saturday afternoon to do mani/Pedi's before going for sushi, and chose this place due to the proximity to the restaurant and her apartment, and they had appt's available. The place is interesting, in that there's a storefront with clothes and jewelry in the front, and a nail salon in the back. We didn't see the pricing listed in the front, or ask about it before proceeding. We were both taken aback by the price of a mani/pedi, hers was $59 and mine was $62 (since I opted for a polish that was more). That seemed crazy high when you factor in that they don't have massage chairs, but maybe it's to cover part of the cost of the free mimosa (which I couldn't drink at that time). We both commented on how we would have tipped them more if the price hadn't been so high. We are both from Chicago and it's not that expensive to get a mani/pedi there. I noticed someone else commented on the cleanliness, but I didn't notice that, maybe it was? However, I will say that the people here were great and friendly, and did a great job massaging our feet and hands before polishing them. Maybe I haven't been in a nail salon in a while, but my biggest issue was that I was so overwhelmed by the lack of fresh air in the back area, and the super strong chemical smell. I get that it's a nail salon, but they clearly don't have any ventilation in the place, which is maybe because flowing air could blow dust around and ruin a paint job? Twee did mail me a TY card, which was super nice. If it wasn't so expensive (for what you get) I'd consider going back. Or if it had included a discount card for a future trip, maybe. My husband and I came in two days ago in the evening. The spa was small, but comfortable, well-decorated, and welcoming. But best of all, we were greeted by the owner's golden retriever, Beau, upon walking in. Not only did Beau immediately cheer me up, but he also came over next to me during my pedicure and let me pet him for a good 15 minutes. He is an unbelievably sweet, calm dog and I literally felt like he provided us with some pet therapy during our pedicures. I didn't mention this to the owner because I didn't want to cry, but we just had to put our dog down (my first pet loss ever) only 8 days prior. So, even though I complimented Beau immensely, I don't think she really understood how happy I was to hang out with him during our services. For those wanting to go in to see Beau-- please call ahead. He is there every week, but not every day. The pedicures themselves were awesome. $44 each for the upgraded spa pedicure, which includes all the usual stuff, plus parafin wax and hot towels. The water for your feet has flowers in it, and they also offer you drinks (tea, coffee, water, or champagne.) We even received two refills! (Free!) The ladies were super nice and personable, grrat conversation, and my toes look great. I paid $3 extra for a new type of polish that lasts 6-8 weeks. Great place all-around, we will definitely be back.... especially to see Beau!! read more

I went to this salon for the first time this weekend and left very disgusted. The woman that did my manicure did not wear gloves and had a wart on her finger. A couple other women had gloves on. I guess it's not policy there to wear gloves (especially if you have something spreadable like a wart). For that reason, I will not be going back. I went to File-n-Style when my long time nail salon had no appointments available. I fell in love with the nails Rochelle (the spelling might not be correct) did for me. I am a perfectionist and she did a PERFECT job. So I went back to her for a second appointment, and again, perfect nails! Today I called to schedule an appointment, since I am flying on a business trip on Monday. Moreen answered the phone, and her lack of enthusiasm and welcoming tone, was quite evident. I usually do not judge nor am I a fan of to bubbly phone personas, so that was fine with me. She told me that Rochelle is not available today and tomorrow and that on Sunday she has only 1 hour available and much more on Monday. I said ok, I will take the hour on Sunday since I am flying out early on Monday and she asked me the standard questions to make sure I do not have to much work needed, I need a re-base and I have one broken nail. She sounded very hesitant whether one hour would be enough, on which I told her that I will do my own color, that I just need the re-base and her response was: "I don't know.. I mean... that will really crunch her.. and it will drag her appointments for the rest of the day..." on which I said again I will do my color, and her answer was the same "I mean... I don't know..". We remained quiet for few more seconds after which I said Ok Moreen, thank you, bye. This is not how you treat or intend to retain a customer who just got acquired, who has left some very good tip for an employee because of great satisfaction, and who needs an accommodation (if that was even the case). You go above and beyond for your customers, you assure them that you are doing everything to take care of their need, and you give them options. Not drag your answer and give zero assurance or options. I received none of that today, and not in one moment did she made me feel that this call is important and what I need as a customer is important. Unfortunately, I will really, really miss Rochelle.. I recommend her to everyone who wants perfect and gorgeous nails! I do not know who Moreen is but she/the salon just lost a customer. read more

She is easy going on the nails and when I leave my nails look terrific. The place is clean and very efficient. They have tons of magazines for you to gaze at if you must wait. I will be coming back for sure! You have 3 options for pedis, (1st one is super basic with only clipping and such, no massage $30?) so I got the middle one $36? (all the usual stuff minus hot towel and paraffin wax that's in the top tier $40?). The seats are comfy, they have nice wood floors (I hear they just re-did this due to customers saying it looked dirty), very girly, pink atmosphere. The tubs you put your feet in have stones and real flowers in them! Such a nice touch! What I like best is I never felt like someone is talking about me in another language!! They offered me drinks including champagne (score!), and they took their time! No rushing here, and not too pricey either (sure, it's more than the usual asian salon but WELL WORTH IT). Danny did my shellac manicure and was very friendly the whole time and she's very talented. She looks at pinterest to get new ideas for nail styles, including GLITTER gradient mani, and excited to do them for you!! I'm so excited to go back to her because she's good, not too expensive, and can do things most salons can't offer! I literally thought I'd never get a manicure like I've seen on pinterest and I did! I have been to this salon many times and I must say I have never been disappointed with the job they have done. The women working here are very friendly and interact well with their customers. This place might not be as ritzy as other nail salons in Denver. If you are looking for something posh and want to spend lots of money, well then you probably do not want to go here. We reserved the salon for a private birthday party and we paid for services in advance. Several of us asked to upgrade and we were told that there wasn't time. The birthday girl didn't get the services she wanted and was disappointed. I was able to upgrade my manicure but got the basic pedicure. All told I was charged $86 which in my opinion was very expensive for what I got. For $86 at a "regular" shop I could have gotten the same services for 2 people. read more

This is a cute boutique with clothes, bags, and shoes, etc. The surroundings are great, but I found the customer service to be lacking in the woman who appeared to be the owner. As she pushed aside one of her employees who was doing a fine job on my nails, she also got up 4 or 5 times to complain to her helper about her other employees! I cant complain about the price, as it was agreed upon beforehand, but since some of the girls in our party had bleeding cuticles and scratched nails under the shellac, I dont feel like they should have gotten the tip that was built in to the final total. I received very good service from Heather - gel mani and pedi - she was very thorough and kind. My nails look great! The shop is cute with clothes and accessories for sale and a cute pink theme. Nice walkable neighborhood, too. However, I didn't appreciate the two small dogs running the place - getting into purses left on the floor, chewing another client's zipper on her coat and all around distracting everyone. I want to get away and relax when I'm at the nail salon. This was not that environment. read more

Overpriced. $30 to dip my feet in a bowl of water and have my nails cut and painted- no massage chair. No leg massage. $38 for a quick shallac where I had to do some of the work myself? Also maybe it's not required in Denver, but I like to see an aesthetician's certification displayed. Couldn't tell how sanitary it was. Didn't see any sanitizing going on with tools and files weren't new. Also I'm not a fan of dogs roaming around places of business at their leisure. The owner/manager was busy kissing the dog and trying to make it sit for a treat in the middle of her appt. The tech that did my nails was nice and my nails look fine (except for the nicks around my nail beds, ouch!) but I wouldn't recommend. read more

I arranged to have my friends and family meet here for a mani/pedis the evening before my wedding. We had fewer than a dozen people (arranged ahead of time). The place feels very low-end but the prices are not. The staff is nice but the owner was less-than-accommodating. We had to wait for staff to be available for the services (although we had to have the numbers and specific services ordered ahead of time) even though there were enough stations. We felt rushed/pushed out at the end. Also, I asked the nail tech to help me select a nude color - it was VERY yellow and I ended up having my nails redone the next morning during my hair appointment at Matthew Morris. The birthday girl wasn't allowed to get a full set as she wanted. The owner said that there wasn't enough time for that but made adjustments for another gal in our group! When all was done, I paid more for my spa mani and pedi with a regular chair and tub with rocks and water for the pedi than what I pay for it here in MN all by myself including a massage chair with bubbly tub and gratuity. I was very disappointed for my niece, myself and the others in the group. I don't feel I got what was paid for! VERY over priced for the services received. Also, prices were not listed anywhere and when asked for explanation of pricing, owner got very defensive and rude. Very sad experience. This is arguably the best manicure I've ever had. Maureen was very kind to take me at the last minute this afternoon. When I arrived I was offered water, tea or even a mimosa! The place is very clean and nicely decorated. Maureen's technique was extremely clean and I was impressed to see that they used individual files for each customer. She was incredibly thorough with shaping my nails and cleaning up my cuticles. They have tons of CND polish options and use LED lights to do shellac manicures which I prefer to UV lighting. The other staff working that afternoon were so friendly and pleasant as well. Maureen and I had a great conversation.
