iTech saved me and my MacBook! I unfortunately knocked over a cup of soda all over my keyboard…read moreSaturday evening, so I was looking for local tech repair businesses close to me. Luckily, iTech was one of them. I brought my laptop in immediately Monday morning and was greeted by Tony, who was very kind and patient. He explained the best and worst case scenarios thoroughly, and their pricing is more than fair for the top-tier service and EXTREMELY quick turnaround time- just a few days! Super knowledgeable and kind team. My MacBook is good as new now with a new keyboard, and I'll definitely be coming back to iTech for any future issues with my electronics. Thank you, Tony and team!

Trying to find a repair shop for my 12 year-old MacBookPro, which had the ominous "3 beeps" error…read morewas difficult. I was finally referred to Henry at iTeck at 5933 Balboa Avenue. Henry was great, worked for a couple of weeks trying to float the solder on the ram memory chips to no avail and then needing to order a replacement logic board. After a logic board replacement and new battery and a thorough cleaning, my MacBookPro worked flawlessly and looked brand new. Cost $200 for parts and $250 for labor. The price was very reasonable and the quality of the repair 1st class! They kept me notified of each step in the process and their costs, always asking for permission before proceeding. I highly recommend iTech for difficult Apple lap-top service needs. This is a magical repair shop!!! James S.

These guys are doing it right. Exactly what you hope for in a local business…read more I found DC through a Facebook group when I asked for computer repair rec's. Checked out their website, then gave them a call about cleaning up my Mac before my vacation. I put it off to the last minute and wasn't sure they could help. Luckily, they could help me, and the rush fee was $100. I love that fact they picked up the phone and it wasn't some dead doornail employee who could care less about my computer issue. Chris, the owner, actually answered the phone. He said to bring it down. I came in that same day and he told me they would: clean it up, install new OS, remove junk, and speed it up overall. He quoted me end of the week, but it was ready sooner, so happy about because it would be ready for vacation. Total came out to about $430 with the rush fee. It's been about 6 weeks now and my computer is running amazing, so fast! They also have refurbished Macs for sale, which I'll be back for when my current computer stops working. Super 5 Stars for DC Computers! They care about their business and customers. So glad I found them.

Absolute worst experience ever at DC Computers. Avoid this place at all costs…read more I went in calm and collected to trade in my two MacBooks. Before we could even negotiate, the employee, a tall Hispanic man in a blue shirt, became incredibly aggressive. He falsely claimed my MacBook was bought outside the US and had a "Spanish keyboard," which is a total lie since I bought it at a US Apple Store. When I corrected him, he scoffed, literally threw my MacBook back at me, walked away, and snapped, "I ain't interested." Throwing a customer's expensive electronics is completely unacceptable and borderline violent. Management needs to check their cameras and handle this employee immediately.

Their turnaround time was impressively quick. I worked primarily with Fred, and he did a fantastic job. He called me multiple times to update me on how the process was going, and also responded by email to my many questions. The process was relatively painless (no one wants to pay upwards of $1000 for an avoidable calamity, but that's not their fault). They have the process streamlined, so you will only have to click a few links to agree to their terms, and they are very responsive by email/phone if you have questions/concerns. I got the results of my diagnostic back 48 hours after dropoff, and my data back 7 days after dropoff, which is a pretty quick turnaround considering this counts a day for shipping the drive to their lab. The other places I checked with told me it would be 2-3 weeks. Getting your data back is expensive. It cost me $1200 to recover 2 GB of data from a thumb drive. The advantage of SDRS is that they will charge you $0 if they cannot recover your data and will also do the diagnostic for free, whereas other places will charge you $200 or more just for the attempt. This means that SDRS has to charge more for successful recoveries to absorb the cost of failed attempts (although it seems there are not many of these), and to pay for the free diagnostics they are doing. Ultimately I was happy with my choice.

The data was stuff that would be difficult to duplicate and if I did try to do that, it would literally take many 40-hour weeks to do so. I contacted Secure Data Recovery Services based on a recommendation from a friend who is VP of tech at his company. So, when calling the company, Alec Sakenes picked up my call and he was fantastic through the whole process. He explained everything to me in detail so that there would be no surprises. He walked me through the process and it was rather simple. Most of what we did was online via e-mail and Internet and it worked out very well. Alec was extremely responsiveness and was always a step ahead of me - checking in to let me know what was going on and making sure that everything was going okay. They were able to retrieve all of my data which was crazy. That was the good part - the not so good part was the fee for the recovery. But, after hearing from my friend what goes into a recovery, the fact that they were able to do so and do a thorough job was impressive. In the end, I opted to pay the fee to obtain my data. There comes a mini vacation we were planning but I have all of my data and I learned a VERY important lesson - back up multiple times and in multiple places!! Thank you, Alec, for such wonderful customer service. You really made me feel like a valued customer and I really like that you explained everything, told it like it was and never pressured me. Overall, the customer service (Alec) and technical assistance was fantastic and extremely professional. I would highly recommend Alec and this company.
