The carne asada burrito was dry the tortilla was burnt tasted nasty. Threw away after 1st bite. Stay away. I had to give a star, not by choice. read more

Service was friendly and teo of the salsas were good but that's where the goodness stopped. Food was awful - meat's taste and texture was as if it was cooked last week or the one before and reheated in a griddle. Tortillas were old and tasteless. read more

Just ordered 2 bean and cheese burritos for $6.01 each! I asked for easy beans multiple times and she couldn't hear me. So when I pay, she had charged me for extra cheese $1.73!!! On the receipt, apparently it says easy beans but that wasn't the case. Now I'm on the road and eating a bean burrito with little cheese. Why do they always do this. Hardly no cheese and so many beans. Not worth the price, service and quality for bean and cheese burrito. Then she charged us $1.19 for extra beans on the other 2 breakfast burritos. Then had a absolutely no beans in them. We are traveling from AZ to NM. read more

I had the Filiberto's burrito with carny/no source cream and no guac. Tell you what!!! I only know a few people that can throat this monster. I hadn't a chance however I was able to enjoy 1/4 of it in 1 sitting. Place was clean and folks were nice here. I would smash a burrito here any day of the week. read more

We have eaten at different Filibertos restaurants in the valley and have found them to be good fast Mex but the Filibertos that opened in Payson,AZ is being very poorly ran and managed. In the last 3 months we have visited the Payson AZ location 3 different occasions and everytime, after sitting in along line were told when we tried to order, "Sorry, we're out of green chili, we're out of this we're out of that" Yesterday was the last straw after trying to order the Chile relleno burrito there, the woman running the drive through said "we do have that but we're out of it right now". Same old worn out excuse, time after time. Very poor excuse for a restaurant... We won't go back. Just glad there are other options in Payson. Go to Alibertos in the Safeway shopping center. Good fast Mex and quick. read more

Ordered a machaca for breakfast and it was wonderful! However the bean burrito doesn't have cheese but you can add it for $2. I don't think I will order the bean burrito again as it was small and too thin. Other than that, it was a good experience. They have a wide assortment of salsas which are all very tasty. I ordered a carne asada burrito with extra cheese, add beans and rice. What I got was a carne asada burrito with lots of rice, some asada, no beans or cheese, which I paid extra for. This burrito cost $15.45, which is outrageous but convenience is worth it at the time. Called them and let them know to which I was told nothing we can do! Perhaps do it right would be a start! There is something wrong with this location. Ordered the standard carne asada burrito, and while it was big, it was garbage. Overcooked tortilla, old meat with tons of chewy fat chunks, and about as greasy as a bacon burrito would be. I spit out about every other bite due to the fat chunks and got grease all over my clothes. Shoulda gone to the Del Taco up the street. Fili-b's corporate should come out and shape these guys up. read more

Salsa Bar with no chips, no roasted chilis? They want you to buy the chips, which are free at every one of the one million Mexican restaurants in Arizona! All of the salsas are pre-packaged in tiny plastic containers which is completely in-green for dinner-in and also doesn't allow you you see what it is. No labels to tell you either. Food OK, servings generous. There are so many other better options. Skip it until they improve the salsa bar. read more

Extremely disappointed to get literally ripped off here. Stopped at 9:30pm on a Wednesday night, March 27. There was a table of four eating and no other customers. There were two staff - a cook and a counter guy. The cook helpfully suggested some kind of chicken burrito. After taking that part of my order, the counter guy learned that I was not a local and was passing through. At that point, he asked if I wanted "extra guac" and "extra pico." I said, "Sure." Paid by AMEX, got my burrito and soda, got back into my car, and headed east. Several miles later, it was clear that there no extra ingredients had been added to the burrito, and these supposed additions totaled $3.74 on top of a $6 burrito. The place was not at all busy, and my feeling is that the failure to include the ingredients was not an oversight. read more

The customer service at this location is spectacular. They deliver even late at night close to their closing time without frustration. Having the option for drive thru is just as great as a convenience. Glad to have them in Payson read more

Driving through town and grabbed lunch at Filiberto's, Payson. Ordered two easy Carne Asada burritos and two horchatas. I am very disappointed in the quality of the burritos. Old meat. Hard to chew mini chunks. The carne always either deep fried or it was 2 day old leftover that wasn't properly preserved (or both, deep fried old meat to try and rejuvenate.). The tortillas were over toasted, making them hard and flakey. The cook toasted any amount of moisture right out of it. I regret not going to the competition across the street. Oh, nothing wrong with the Horchatas. read more

I go tho Filberto's often in the SCOTTSDALE area. This visit to Payson was disappointing. The service was horrible. It looked like they had one person working the front counter (manager)? and one cook. The food was no big deal. It took about 20 minutes to receive my order. The drive thru was all backed up. Obviously very short of help that day. I understand it may have been a bad day, but they really should have more workers. I will give this location one more try ! read more

Filiberto's is the best "Bertos" in town with Delicious food and friendly service!! We work in Payson a few time a week and have tried several restaurants in the area but this one is a winner in my opinion. Filiberto's has really good food and the portion size is on the "a little to much side" which is a good thing right?!?!?! I give this Filiberto's up, only downside is location makes it a bit difficult to get into and out of with valley traffic but worth the extra wait. read more

Went with my whole family when driving through. Very good food! Around $10 a person but you get a lot of food. Only one of us finished our whole meal so we have some leftovers for later. I'm not staying in the area but if I lived near it would probably be one of my go-to spots. read more

I don't understand all of the one star reviews. I just moved here from Southern California, and am trying all of the local places to eat. Filberto's is literally around the corner from where I live. Was greeted warmly by a young lady behind the counter, the prices seemed good, and the food was soon packaged and ready to take home. My enchilada dinner was large enough to be dinner another night. The shredded chicken was tasty and no surprises ( no gristle, bones or other icky chicken parts). I agree that having to pay for chips was a shock to me, as it is a given in California that you get free chips with your meal..oh well, didn't need the extra calories anyway. Will definitely eat there again. read more

Decided to write a review after 3 trips to this filibertos, I ordered carne asada fries and 2 carne asada burritos on my visits. The fries were soggy, carne asada is not seasoned very well and is not seared which gives it a chewy boiled texture rather than grilled asada. The salsa bar is very basic and the salsas lack distinct flavor, they are very thin and more of a water consistency. This IS the only drive thru Mexican food in Payson so they do have the convenience factor going for them. If you want fast Mexican food and are willing to get out of the car, Alfonso's has great breakfast burritos and tortas while Aliberto's in the Safeway shopping center is great at everything else. read more

I ordered a chorizo and egg burrito to go. When I got home I saw the chorizo was cooked to the point of it being powder and the eggs were so cooked they were chewy and awful. I threw it in the trash. If I had eaten it there I would have thrown it at the cook. read more
