They didn't contact me, I took time off work and drove to the appointment only to be turned away because their hygienist went home sick hours prior. Never got a call or message with this information and now I'm getting notifications to reschedule the appointment I didn't show up to. I had requested multiple times to note "no fluoride treatment" on my chart as my insurance doesn't cover it and every single time for a cleaning they tried to gather payment for the treatment I declined. They need better processes and communication tools vs putting the frustration on the patient. I have transferred my care due to the continuous issues with this office.

I don't post negative reviews lightly. My son, nearly 11, presented with an infection in two, LOOSE…read morebaby teeth, and our general dentist determined extraction was the best option. As he no longer pulls teeth, he referred me to a pediatric dentist. I was given the run around between these Stillwater and Woodbury offices, but it was ultimately Dr. Baylon's job to extract these teeth. I was provided with no treatment plan or information other than the appointment time and place. So today I arrive, expecting his teeth to be removed. The dentist arrives and proclaims that he only uses sedatives. What?! My son doesn't want to be sedated. I do not want him to be sedated, either. No one said anything about sedatives. So I ask him to explain the consequences of leaving the teeth in to my son. He is old enough to have a say in what happens to his body, and deserves to be treated with respect. Dr. Nick Baylon ignores my son and continues to talk to me, then decides he doesn't like us and refuses to extract the teeth - sending us packing. I cannot begin to explain how many people this inconvenienced beyond our family due to an extremely busy week, and I am just furious about the whole situation. Had I known about their policy of using sedation on all cases, we could have discussed it ahead of time. We could have been prepared. Instead, they sprang it on us while we were in the treatment room and then sent us away when I questioned them. I will never, ever again use these pediatric dentists and I suggest all parents to proceed with extreme caution. Dr. Nick Baylon may or may not be a talented dentist, but his supremely rude, inconsiderate, and apathetic attitude towards a stressed, confused mom is unforgivable. I shutter to think of the bills I'll get by the end of this. I do want to thank Tiffany, at the front desk, for helping me schedule another appointment elsewhere. You tried your best to make a bad situation better, and I appreciate you.

I was referred here for a root canal by my primary dentist. When calling to schedule appointment,…read morethe registration representative said she ran my insurance and I would pay 40% per my plan. I agreed. After the root canal, I was sent a bill for almost $2,000, and was told that they had actually not run my insurance until the day after the procedure. After going back and forth with their billing department for 9 weeks, I was forced to pay the entire amount, with no offers of financial assistance plan. Do not make the same mistake by trusting that they will be transparent with you about costs, go elsewhere.

Well the last two reviews have simply been about the appointment system or some extension thereof,…read moreso I figured I would write a review to help counter the low score based on my experience. I had a cracked tooth a couple years ago that my previous dentist decided to put a crown on instead of root canal therapy. I was thrilled and elated that a root canal was not needed because of all the horror stories that usually accompany that kind of treatment. After the crown was put on, I experienced constant throbbing pain for the next month. They ended up having to adjust the crown and I still experienced constant aches for the next year and a half or so. Finally I had just about enough as I could no longer chew on the right side of my mouth, so I stomached the fact that I might have to get a root canal and made an appointment with a new dentist to get a "consultation" on whether a root canal was truly needed or not. The verdict after I left was... "You might need a root canal". Gee thanks I didn't realize that when I made the appointment. Anyway they gave me a referral to The Dental Specialists and sent me on my way with a bill for services rendered. After I got home, I researched the Dental Specialists and was kind of appalled honestly at all the terrible reviews this company has garnered. After noticing that they all seemed to be centered around appointments, and not about the procedure/dentists themselves, figured I'd give it a shot. I called them up, and scheduled an appointment, and received a confirmation a couple days before. No issues. The morning of the consultation, I showed up, got taken back promptly by an extremely sweet dental hygienist and within about 10 minutes Dr. Law was there in the room with me going over the tooth's history. 5 minutes later after some cold and pressure tests and such, deemed a root canal was needed. So...I laid back and accepted my fate and prepared for the worst. The dental hygienist gave me some ibuprofen before the procedure so that we could get a "head-start" on any discomfort that may arise. Here comes the Lidocaine... They offered me a pair of headphones and an adapter for my phone, which I promptly took, and told me to relax sit back and listen to some music and if they needed anything at all I could just raise my arm, and if they needed me they would tap me on the shoulder. I suppose people get kinda grossed out over the sounds made during this kind of procedure, so I put on some Boston's "More than A Feeling" I closed my eyes, and i slipped away. :) You probably won't believe this but I can honestly say that I experienced 0 discomfort during the entire procedure. I mean I knew they were working on the tooth and going inside the tooth because Dr. Law went through what the procedure entailed, but I couldn't feel anything. About 45 minutes later, they were all done and I was ready to get going. Dr. Law walked me out to the receptionist office to discuss my post-treatment plan. 600 mg of Ibuprofen every 6 hours was the recommendation so I shook his hand, told him job well done, and walked out. 6 Hours later I took 600 mg of Ibuprofen...not because I felt an extreme amount of discomfort, but simply because I expected it. Needless to say, I haven't taken any more pain pills for the tooth since the procedure after that initial dose. I can only credit this to the fact that Dr. Law did such an amazing job and turned this whole ordeal into a non-event. I can say that I am now able to chew on the right side of my mouth with absolutely no problem and all I'm doing now is kicking myself for waiting so long to get it done. Thanks Dr. Law for the amazing job and experience. Hopefully I never have to see you again for this kind of procedure, but should I have to, I know who I will be seeing.
