Note that although the back room looks completely disorganized, it really isn't. The merchandise is actually grouped: tools, horse stuff, kitchen, military, etc. Lots of boots. Prices are reasonable.

The last 3+ times I've came in with personal belongings that I was looking to sell or get a loan on when I have been in need of cash, she has turned me away without a loan or a sale and so obviously no cash due to claiming that the items I was trying to pawn "Don't sell quickly enough" for her to warrant paying the measley $0.30 or less on the dollar that is the maximum that they are ever willing to pay for anything and everything. The last time she turned me away, was yesterday on 5/14/2026, when I brought an item in that had a $250 used resell value that I was only wanting to get a minuet $40-50 loan on, which is only 1/5 or less of the items resell value, just so I would have a little money that night for fuel and to grab something to eat until I got payed from work the following day at which time I intended on coming back and repaying the loan and picking the item back up. If the resell value of the item is that much more than the loan amount and we are only talking a loan of $50 or less, seems like it would be a no brainer, can't miss opportunity for the store regardless of whether or not the item tends to sell as quickly as other items typically do. I want to point out that I believe that these unfortunate experiences that I've had at this particular store with this particular employee/ person is a reflection only on this particular employee and her lazy, poor work ethic, poor customer service, and lack of commitment to doing right by both the store and the customer on her part more so than it is a reflection on the company as a whole. Given the loan to item value ratio disparity in this example I would also say that the issue gas less to do with the possibility of the item sitting on the shelf for too long and more to do with her unwillingness to work or her willingness to attempt to get out of work rather.

The staff member was very patient while I tried on nearly every pair in the store and almost every pair available was on sale (it is noted that in the past, staff found a way to *make* my preferred pair on sale). This store appeared organized and sufficiently staffed for a busy summer day like today, and they offered a broad variety of outdoor/sports paraphernalia. Everyone I encountered was friendly, the birds were singing, and my deodorant was holding up well I walked out of the store happy with a new pair of Bolle sunglasses (on sale as usual!).

Thank you for blowing out Central Oregon fisheries. You all have completely ruined locals only fishing spots. Reed is a total jerk and I would never spend another dollar of my hard earned money to support that shop. The folks, for the most part, at the shop are a complete joke to the fishing community and a ruining our fisheries. Keep it local, stop ruining the river to put money in your pockets. You all know very well that there are many places to send people to fish that does not compromise the spots locals (including yourselves) like to sneak down to! This store has a great recipe for success! Flyfishing, grills and beer, yet those things alone mean nothing without the stellar staff employed there. There is no pushy salesmen, no shortage of selection and, best of all, no condescending energy found in many fly shops. Fin & Fire is an essential stop anytime I head toward central Oregon. It is almost unbelievable that more fly shops have not taken a closer look at their recipe. Great shop, I would recommend it to anyone at any level. Our trip involved taking my 14 yo son out in his first fly fishing outing and he managed not only to keep this 24x7 video gamer interested but excited and enthusiastic about our day-long outing. He also somehow managed to spend several minutes to show me some new casting techniques while quickly moving back and forth dealing with snags, tangles and the many fish unhooking and picture duties. Our trip was along the Crooked River, a local hot spot which hosts both native rainbow trout and whitefish. They must do something special to these fish who fight like ones many times their actual size. These entertaining fish are plentiful but smart, so knowing the proper flies and techniques will save you many hours of trial and error here. This is a truly special area that is both spectacularly beautiful and highly productive for the skilled fly fisherman. I've been in several guided outings but few have rivaled the completely satsifying trip we did with Rivers Bend. If you plan to fly fish in the Bend area, you will regret not spending your day with Rivers Bend.

They add-on poles for free and were great to consult on what might improve my skiing experience I ended up on a pair of Head all mountain skis that performed nicely in all conditions from crusty mornings, to bumps to soft spring snow. They offered as many tryouts as I wanted in the time I was there which although impractical, sounded nice should I want more options. They were quick to get me setup. Doors were open at 8am and I felt well cared for while I was there. It's a great full-service bike and ski shop and it's been a local staple for years. All the things should you travel and forget gear and likely a great spot for locals to get great quality gear and repairs near the entrance to the mountain.
