In recent times, they have started putting limits on transfers, for example ME issuing a payment to ME from my FPCU business account to my FPCU personal account. It changes, and sometimes I'm stopped with a $1K daily limit or a $2K weekly limit. You can call and have them do it for more, but today i was informed the most you can xfer is $1K period. Incredibly unhelpful, inconvenient, and unnecessary. Literally from me to me, fully within the same bank. They used to greet me by name, work to fix inconveniences like this with some personal service, but they just don't do that anymore. It will change next week, when more people complain. But for now, only bank here if you don't mind random and odd policies like this. (PS - the above review touting Sonnie? Sonnie was great. but he's moved on a few years ago and the branch is absolutely not the same.) read more

There are a ton of credit unions out there. Stay away from this one. I have an auto loan with them, but not a checking account after closing it due to shady charges. I'm being punished by not being able to make payments online anymore. I have to go into a branch, which is nowhere near where I live, to make a payment in person. When I call them to try to resolve this, I'm told there's nothing they can do. Really? Terrible customer service and in no way do they act like they care about you. read more

I am extremely pleased with the service I received from Celeste. I made a online purchase that was over my daily limit. When the transaction failed, I contacted Celeste and within minutes my account was fixed and charge was authorized. I am so thankful that FPCU has a great staff. Back with more disappointment. I decided to follow through with my refinance after running into several issues setting up my account. The entire point was to take off my co signer... they sent me dmv forms, it took several weeks for them to be processed aparently.. then after all of that I get a notice from the dmv about my registration still having a cosigner. What was the point of the dmv forms?? Where are they? Did they make it to the dmv?? Waste of time and energy. Very disorganized company. Would only recommend small banking accounts with them. This review isn't for this particular location, but for their call center. I would not recommend doing a balance transfer to this financial institution. They offered me a balance transfer promo with supposedly a 0% interest for 12 months. Come to find out, this is not true. They charged me interest for my balance transfer. So now, instead of saving money I lost money. I could have just left the balance with the creditor I had it at. Very disappointing and will not use any of their other financial products here. Can you give a no star rating? Way back, there was the Cannon Electric Federal Credit Union (FCU) that was focused on employees of ITT Cannon in Santa Ana. That became the Cannon Financial FCU, and subsequently that became Financial Partners FCU. The Cannon FCU were friendly and the staff helpful. Somewhere around 2009 it became Financial Partners FCU. We had several car loans through the credit union and had good service. Originally this account was a savings account (~1993) where payroll withdrawals were deposited. We had other checking accounts. In July 2020, I had an issue with the online account (when I tried to identify why I had monthly inactivity charges appearing on statement) and the telephone support couldn't fix it. I had to go into the HB branch to get it resolved by reestablishing the online portion. It took several days before I received a call that it was resolved. The Personal Banking Officer at the time indicated that the inactivity charges were due to the lack of deposits/withdrawals for 12 months, and then reversed them. In December 2021 we deposited several checks to the account. Now in June 2022, I tried to check the balance in the account online but discovered it wasn't working. I tried to use the ATM card to deposit a check at several different ATMs associated with Financial Partners and neither would accept the PIN. I again drove to the HB office to talk to another Member Service Officer about why I couldn't get online or use the ATM card. She was very polite and looked at the account. Then, I was told that Financial Partners LOCKs the online accounts if they aren't used within a 6 MONTH period. She had no idea why the ATM card wouldn't work. I asked if the CU sends out notifications that the account hasn't been used and she said NO they don't notify the account holder and they also charge the $5/mo inactivity fee after 6 months. She told me that the 6-month lock is their standard, and they cannot change it. They say this is a "security" measure, and "All I need to do is call the office and they can fix it". However, we have accounts with a bunch of other FCU and banks and the closest is 12 months, and they notify the account holders before it is locked. My solution was simple - I asked for and received a check for the account balance from the Member Service Officer to close the account. I wouldn't recommend Financial Partners FCU to anyone. read more
