OMG I don't know where to start. I've been following this company's instagram page for a couple of months now. Repeat Customer. I would like to show some appreciation to Brian. He sold me my first vehicle after coming back to the states from living in Guam. I had no prior history, no permanent address in California(healthcare worker) & I know that he took a chance on helping me find a car. I bought my first car from him at the beginning of the pandemic and I I was able to return to him for another purchase recently. Long overdue review. Purchased this Toyota Highlander with Brian back in November as an upgrade to my previous SUV. It's given me no issues for the miles and how long it had been sitting on the lot. Drove this SUV all the way back to the San Bernardino Mountains where we're from and it was perfect. It's made it through one winter already no problems. This thing eats snow for breakfast, lol. Schools First CU worked fluidly with this dealership and we were on the road with our vehicle in less than 3 hours. I came here to look at their selection of cars, and let me just say that Allison made this whole car buying process so quick, easy, painless, and less stressful then I thought it was going to be. Allison was so patient with me, and she really worked with me so I could leave with a car that I really wanted! She let me test drive pretty much any car I wanted, and let me drive it around for pretty much however long I needed too, and when it came time for me to find car insurance, she even took the time to look around and even got some quotes for me which was so cool of her to do! Another awesome thing she did, is when I didn't have the full amount for the down payment, she worked with me so I could pay it off before my first car payment, and still got to leave that day with the car! If you're looking for a new car I HIGHLY recommend this place, and if you do go, make sure to find or ask for Allison because she will do whatever she has to do to make sure that you have a good time, answer any questions you may have, and most importantly leave with a car that you love! After looking around at a few big dealerships, I decided to check out DriveSmart since I have driven past them almost everyday for the last 5 years... and they did not disappoint! Although I can say they did definitely work with me and my credit sadly I have once again been sold a lemon that has cost me nothing but repairs month after month, and now has forced me to live paycheck to paycheck , no one is willing to really help the solution and it sucks I'll probably pay another 4 to 5 thousand in repairs before I even come close to paying it half off , I came here and explained my prior situations of buying cars with hopes of avoid repeating only to repeat . read more

What can I say about ALLISON? This is my SECOND time at Drive time and she remembered me. She is fantastic. I was unsure about my car purchase direction and she provided guidance. I usually don't write yelp reviews but I felt the need to for this one. I was really happy I came here. I found them on Instagram. Allison had helped me with everything and got me into a car. She really worked a miracle with me. My credit isn't the best but they worked with me. And she also gave me a discount on my car. The car was clean and nice on the inside and out. Allison is such a kind sweetheart and she's also very patient and friendly. She made sure I left with a car. Came in after a long day of truck shopping. Today, I walked away from 5-6 dealerships for several reasons, lack of sales, damaged vehicles and a host of other reasons. Wanted a used truck for those times when you just need a truck. I wasn't looking or expecting much but wanted to stay around ten grand and keep it clean. Called Allison Gibb on the phone to inquire about trucks, she was friendly, helpful and checked on what I inquired about. I told her I would be down soon, no attitude what so ever, other dealers acted bothered when I called them. I arrived and was not "attacked", I had time to cruise the lot, checking out what I wanted to see. Allison came out and was immediately helpful not pushy. She allowed me time to drive the truck and not be bothered with a dealer person inside the vehicle. I was able to FaceTime my brother and discuss the truck. I was never rushed and we went over finance options, etc. by the time I decided with no pushing what so ever by Allison, I paid cash and out the door with my new truck! I bought a car remotely from them. As you can imagine, buying a car from a used car lot remotely can be very scary and stressful. I only did it because of the strong reviews here on yelp and even then, was apprehensive. When my vehicle arrived, I did notice an issue with it, and started to have this sinking feeling in my stomach... however, they took care of it, even from afar, without the pushback I was expecting. I was in a hunt for a hybrid vehicle. I went to another dealer and it was a nightmare. So I came across this beautiful Lexus suv at an amazing price. I bought a 2011 Toyota Prius May 2022. By April 2023 the car had head gasket issues plus much more. They offered no help to fix it. Engine gave out, car does not work. Now Its 2024 I am stuck with a car that does not work, high monthly payment, and over $7,500 in car loan debt . Not happy at all. read more

Buyers beware! I've checked several car shops in OC. While others obviously act as overpriced scammers, people in DriveSmart are more slick. However, it all comes down to the same story. It's true that they have the most affordable cars. However, still overpriced and a bit questionable. They stand out because they sell old cars. I specifically interacted with Brian. Seeing his Instagram account and other reviews with his photos, my hopes were high. He (and other staff) were very kind and flexible as I looked at cars and test drove. However, as soon as it came to the selling point, he became all smirky and way more assertive, borderline passive aggresive. You can definitely see how he flips the board and even asks suggestive questions, making you question your decisions and views. I had my eye on one car which was overpriced by at least 50%. Brian offered $1000 discount, which would still result with a way too high price. However, then he judged me by suggesting how generous he was. Not true, because lowering the price for $1000 would still make me pay way too much. Overall, I didn't feel so pleasant and respected - at least, not after I asked for a lower price. And trust me, I really didn't intend to lowball - their prices are really too high. Remember: they don't appear as sneaky as others, but they come down to be the exact same. Unpleasantly surprised with Brian, who put so much into his brand, only to lack genuity and sincerity. P. S. I bought a car elsewhere in the end (in a way better condition). For those looking for a car: just be persistent! You'll find a fair deal eventually. read more

Working with Juan Salgado and Benjamin Fernandez. The vehicle was advertised for $14,999, and I made a $10,000 down payment toward the purchase. One of the primary reasons I felt comfortable proceeding with the transaction was the dealership's representation that I would have a 48-hour period to review the transaction and return the vehicle if I disagreed with any aspect of the purchase or was dissatisfied for any reason. Relying upon those representations, I completed the purchase believing I would have a meaningful opportunity to review all transaction documents and associated charges. However, I was not provided copies of my paperwork until after the 48-hour period had expired. Upon finally receiving and reviewing the documents, I discovered that the total cost of the transaction had been significantly increased by additional products and charges, including $1,936 for a Tire and Wheel Protection Plan and $3,399 for a theft deterrent product (Starguard), which i was originally quoted $20 per day. These charges materially increased the overall cost of the vehicle and were not expressed to me at the time I entered into the transaction. My current balance on the car is $12.360.55, after putting $10,000 down on a 14,999 car. OC Motors is a total rip off! Had I been provided the complete paperwork immediately following the sale, I would have been able to review the documents during the promised review period and make an informed decision regarding the transactions. But apparently thats how this company operates. After discovering these charges, I made numerous attempts to contact the dealership to discuss my concerns and obtain clarification. Unfortunately, my efforts were unsuccessful. I was repeatedly transferred between offices, informed that I was contacting the wrong department, and, on multiple occasions, my calls were disconnected. I also sent emails seeking assistance and clarification but did not receive any response. I further learned that the vehicle had a prior damage history reflected in the vehicle history report. While vehicle history information may have been available, consumers should be provided with complete transparency regarding both the condition of the vehicle and all financial terms associated with the purchase. I'm documenting this to caution other consumers to exercise diligence when purchasing a vehicle. Prospective buyers should carefully review every document, verify every charge, ask questions regarding all add-on products, and ensure they receive copies of all signed paperwork BEFORE leaving the dealership. I wouldn't recommend them at all but if you do purchase a car from this dealership, read everything, even the small print, they are very crafty- they try to "legally" scam people. In my opinion, the manner in which this transaction was handled lacked the transparency and customer service that consumers should reasonably expect when making a significant financial purchase. No matter how good these cars look or the prices, do not trust this company I hope that by sharing my experience, other consumers will be better informed and able to avoid similar frustrations. *They will reap what they sow* Blessings to all

They gave me a loaner car I had for a couple days finally the bmw was ready for me to come pick up. First couple days everything was ok then I noticed a lot of smoke coming from tail pipes. I took to bmw in Murrieta they informed me yeah we recommend a whole new motor. $35,000. Never going to happen so I contact Gus he's like bring it back we will take care of it for you.. I get there and Gus has me talk to another guy who was not even trying to make it right with me I basically had to tell him I would pay half of the cost to fix this car I just got. For $6,000 down. He finally agrees they keep the car supposedly took it to be fixed I highly doubt it.. cause car still had smoke coming out tail pipe. And check engine light came on driving back from picking it up here we are now a year later and the car has giving me nothing but problems. We drove 1.5 hours to see/buy this car. I walk into their office and ask the only salesman present "do you have any hybrids?" ***As an experienced used car buyer, I was disappointed when the answer to my simple yes/no question was "what price range are you looking for?"*** This is the question I was asked by the only salesperson present, instead of asking me something like "which car make are you interested in?", or if I was interested in a "sedan or an SUV"--or really ANY question about the CAR I wanted, besides how much MONEY I wanted to spend (which actually has nothing to do with the car itself). I replied with the exact same question I had just asked, "do you have any hybrids?" Then his answer was "I have one Ford hybrid." I then asked about Toyota hybrids (which we had been told was still available). His response was "sold two days ago," as the app had informed us. These people are CLEARLY *deceitful predators* looking to rip people off however they can. I am an experienced used car buyer. It's easy to tell when the salesperson is focused on getting me the exact car I'm looking for, or when they are focused on how much I'm willing to blindly spend. The difference is customer service VS. customer exploitation. And I get the feeling they DID have the car we were looking for, but perhaps the salesman present at their E. Chapman office concluded that he could probably get more for their Toyota Hybrid from some schmuck that will gladly announce how much money they are willing to spend/overspend as soon as they walk in--because the truth is: shady businesses look for suckers to exploit. Car dealers talk to prospective customers daily, so they know what suckers look and sound like. I didn't fit the profile of a sucker, which meant they had no car for me to buy from their very limited inventory. Small inventory is another tell-tale sign that these people know exactly what cars are in stock, and which got "sold two days ago." Not a good look. Cars Unlimited will shamelessly waste a prospective customer's precious and limited time. It seems like they hope to sell the few cars they have, only to the suckers that announce how much they are willing to get ripped off. I also noticed most of their glowing "5 star reviews" are from people with few, if not only 1, review. Pretty sure their good reviews are paid/fake. Buyer BEWARE. Too many dealerships to visit the shady ones.

He gently pushed against the fender until the crease went away and pulled the bumper edge outward until it lined up flush against the fender. He did some other work quickly and finished after I came back from lunch. I couldn't believe my eyes! I got three other quotes up to $2600 requiring to replace the bumper and paint the fender to match! The car is over 5 years old but the entire body is in great shape. I wasn't looking for a perfect repair. Lawrence at the start asked if I wanted a perfect restoration or something reasonable. I definitely wanted something reasonable because I didn't want to go through my insurance company for an aging car. After he finished the repair, you can't even notice any damage. I wish more body shops were more honest like Signature Auto body. Last thing, I plan to come back with my other car that needs more extensive work but at least I know I'm dealing with someone who I can trust! :)

I admit I am a first time car buyer when I came to this place, I am truly grateful and happy with the decision I made to going here. I was nervous, scared, doubtful, and negative about getting a vehicle here I desperately needed. I walk in and there was a warm welcome from everyone, it was forced or fake they was happy to see me despite them not knowing me. I didn't regret the contact or purchase one bit, they make you feel good about what you're doing in a positive manner, they are professional at their work, they enjoy what they do and it is well expressed through the company. It's small but that doesn't stop them from being originally unique. Everyone in there wants to help you or talk to you, it's laid back and causal in there. Nothing is professionally forced for a image, it's not like any other place where you have to talk to one guy that is genuinely trying to help you despite it could possibly cost him his money hungry job that don't care about the customers needs or their fellow co-workers. This company compromise with you, work with you, communicate with you. They're patient and understanding. All you need to do it communicate with them and be puntiual about your time. This is a genuine review and my honest opinion about Drive Smart experience. I don't give them that often. The experience I had at Drive Smart was like no other I've ever experienced before when purchasing a vehicle. The whole experience from the beginning to the end was totally stress free & every went smoothly from the time I called and spoke with Alex my sales guy and during in process of it all when Mike helped me tremendously. Good guy. And Taylor? A genuinely nice guy , totally understanding and and without questions asked, he was willing to listen and help me with a small problem i was having It took a couple days to fix it, but his goal was to fix whatever it was for me as soon as possible. Every time I called Taylor he answered the phone directly and the only words that came out of his mouth was yes sure no problem, lets make it happen. It was a really great experience and honestly, it kinda caught me off guard. I was expecting pushy aggressive sales people up in my face following my every move. It was nothing like that. The rest of the people who work there were terrific as well and extremely helpful. this is how i bought my 2013 rav4 with 10000 miles on it. l call the dealer and Taylor(the owner) answer the phone l asked questions and he answer all of them very polite and l notice he was very honest while we were talking. how do i know this maybe because he never brag about (this is the best car. the best place. you wont find another deal like this etc,etc, like other sales person told me before) he just told me that l more than welcome to come and see the car at any time so l drove down there same day and l meet Jonny very nice guy too. he took me where the car was and told me that l can chek everything on the car and take any time l want, he also game the keys to test drive it by myself . no rush , no pushing, no nothing. so took my time to check everything on the car and also test drive it, (remenber the car has only 10000 miles on it it was still like brand new) so after came back l told jonny that i want it so l ask for a discount cause i was paying cash and they did i got my car at a great price, oh and the best part they dont try to sell all the extra garbage on top the car that other dealers do. l had a great experience at this dealer l am another happy customer. thank u guys @ Drive smart motors read more

Let's just start by saying if I could give this place 100 stars I would. I worked with Alex and boy oh boy did he take care of me. My credit isn't good at all, I have been given the run around by other dealership's and I have been turned down a lot. So needless to say I wasn't hopeful. I found this dealership on Craigslist and contacted Alex and he promptly got back to me. I asked what was needed to qualify and he was straight up. I filled out the application online and within the hour he called and gave me what I could qualify for and real numbers as to the down payment, monthly payments and he even called and got me affordable full coverage insurance. I live about 45min from the dealership and he was able to arrange a ride for me and my daughter. When I got there, the paperwork was ready we went over some things I saw the car and I was in and out in an hour or less, in my fabulous car. I have never had a good experience when it came to purchasing a car, that has all changed. I will never go anywhere else they have my business for life. I rarely write reviews for any establishment and I never thought I would write a review for a user car dealership of all places. The staff at this establishment are of the highest calibre - knowledgeable, customer-focused and not pushy. After purchasing a lemon off Craigslist, I was very sceptical of anyone who would sell me a car, whether it be private or certified dealer. With Drivesmart, they were never pushy, always answered my somewhat demanding questioning/interrogation and worked with me every step of the way. They were the only dealership that would give me an official quote before running my credit, and had complete transparency about the car purchasing process - who they buy their cars off, who does their inspections, their client base and the process from test drive to drive home. They even lent me a car when my intended car of purchase was sent to their mechanic to do some maintenance work as advised by my pre-purchase inspection! Thank you Gino, Brian, Mike and Taylor for your hard work. I walked into Drive smart motors not knowing what to expect. I had just had a total total loss with my Toyota Camry. I had 10,000 dollars to spend and thought i would be driving something old and ready to die. I saw a car that i liked on the internet which was higher than 10,000 out the door. I called the dealership and spoke to a salesman Alex. I asked if i paid with cash was there any wiggle room in the price. He told me yes and i wasn't sure if that was just to get me in there. I walked in and Alex ready for me. I laid all my cash on the table and said this is all i have which was about 500 short of 10,000. I told him i was going yo try another place down the street and they didn't even have the car they had advertised. Alex never pressured me nor did anyone else in the office. He said we can do this on my terms and to just bring the other $500.00 at my leisure. I left with a 2017 low miler and Alex even drove me to enterprise to return my rental and back to get my New car. Gino is the best!!! I couldn't get financing anywhere with the money i had for a down payment, then i saw an ad on cl saying 600 down delivers. I figured it would be like every other place i had tried, but I gave it a shot and called the number. Gino took my application over the phone and said ill give you a call in a few minutes I wasn't holding my breath but in just a few minutes my phone rang and he said congratulations i got an approval for you. I live in Bakersfield about 2 to 3 hours away and this was already 5 pm or so. He told me if i waz for sure coming he would wait for me there even tough they close at 7pm. When i arrived at almost 9:30 he was indeed waiting for me. I looked at the car and we went to do paperwork. By the time we finished everything up it was almost midnight, i felt bad that it took so long but he never complained and he wasnt gonna just leave until i was driving away in my car. I can only say wonderful things about Drive Smart Motors, their staff and even their finance company. My experience was great from start to finish. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle. It is very hard now a days to find people that you can trust and not feel pressure from especially when dealing with car sales. Taylor was very open and honest right from the beginning and helped us find the perfect vehicle to suit our needs; especially our financial needs. I felt I could trust him right away. He is very kind and very patient as I asked tons of questions. He also always responded in a timely manner. The level of customer service is excellent. I found a car i loved on this company's profile, I called them and the same day left with the exact car i wanted irrespective of my not too good credit score. My first experience with this dealership was amazing! They approved me right away, bad credit and all, and had me driving away in my car within an an hour. But I felt the need to write this "A-Ok" review so others are more educated on their decision... First of all, the finance company they work with is also owned by them. I thought this would be a great thing but the finance company is really difficult to work with. They are often rude and judgmental. I get it, they just want their money, but there is such thing as good customer service too. Secondly, let me tell you about all the problems I have had with my car just within the first 6 months of owning it! You may get a great deal but you also get what you pay for. I have had to put $2000 into fixing my car so far, new fuel pump, gas cap broke, and other engine issues. It's been a pain in the butt and certainly not affordable. For those thinking of purchasing here, just be careful and know what you are getting into. read more

They treated me very fairly and were nice to work with. Bought a Ford Transit 150 van with only 26K miles on 2/26/2018, after driving up from San Diego. Taylor (owner) agreed to hold the van for me and it was available when I arrived. The van was on the lot for 1-2 days, so they did not have much time to do a full inspection. Had a great experience with test driving and inspecting the vehicle myself. They agreed to an oil change, car detail, and brake inspection. A few days after taking the van home, I started to hear a rubbing noise on the rear brakes when backing up. Had the van inspected locally and learned that the rear disc rotors had some warping, which I then had fixed by my mechanic. After emailing Taylor about the issue, he immediately agreed to pay for the full repair and sent me a check. Based on some negative reviews that I read and my experience, I would recommend you get your own mechanical inspection, as is true with any used car purchase. read more

This has to be one of the finest dealerships in SoCal. The guys here made my car buying experience not only extremely easy, but pleasant. They provided great, thorough customer service and they were able to get me in a vehicle in less than 2 hrs! Although I had been turned down numerous times due to my credit and a repossession, they were able to make a deal with me on the spot! I now have a great, reliable vehicle. This was my girlfriend Ramona's first time purchasing a vehicle on her own. She had the pleasure of dealing with Miguel and he was very helpful in assisting her in finding the right car for her. I highly recommend Drive Smart Motors! Not only were Miguel and Alison exceptional to work with. They made me feel comfortable and thoroughly answered all my questions in detail. This was my first time purchasing a car from a used dealer and while I went in hesitant, I left felling comfortable and with my dream car to boot! Two months after I purchased the car I had the engine light flashing and the car was driving rough out of nowhere. I knew that the warranty expired but I called Taylor the manager to see what he suggested. It ended up just needing new coils and spark plugs and they still honored the warranty that expired and took care of the repair! They went above and beyond in so many ways! Well what can I say there are still good people in this world. DriveSmart Motors is where it is at. They helped my family out, they made sure to put us in a car that was within our budget, got us insurance the same day, and got us into a safe, reliable vehicle. They also have Car Fax on all their vehicles with one owner. Crazy right, unbelievable. Well think again, next time you need a car make sure you go to DriveSmart Motors. Need a new vehicle? This is the place to go. I am very satisfied with the great and SUPER fast service this dealer provides. I asked for a quote in their website and it was super easy and fast. The next day I am driving away with the vehicle i was looking for with a very low downpayment. My payments are super low too even though i have a few bumps in my credit score. So that is huge for me. I've been driving this vehicle (08 honda civic) for a month now and I am very pleased. It drives smooth, gas saver, well maintained it's an excellent car. I spent weeks looking for a great used car, particularly a Honda Accord. After looking at various Honda Accords from dealerships and private sellers, I found the exact car I wanted on offerup from DriveSmart Motors. I called them to make sure it was in stock, it was, and Miguel Pena offered to hold the car until I arrived about an hour later. The car was exactly what I wanted, a Honda Accord coupe V6. And after Miguel let me take the car for a test drive, I knew it had to be mine. Miguel gave me a great price. Overall it was a great experience. I purchased my car 1 month ago. I applied online and got a call from Bryan within a couple days to ask me questions in regards to income/credit. To my suprise, he was able to get me an approval for the vehicle I wanted ! Wow I was in shock because I have less than bad credit AND I had only been working for 1 month! Bryan didn't give up on me and I really appreciate it because now I have a reliable vehicle that allows me to work. I'm forever grateful that drivesmart has given me a second chance of repairing my credit. The process was very simple, I went in looked at the vehicle, got a final approval on the vehicle of my choice. This past Wednesday I went window shopping on a Dodge Dakota I've been wanting to purchase for a long time.. I saw the post of blue 2004 Dakota Brian had posted and right away it caught my eye so I head out there as soon as I could.. I got there I was greeded professionally and then I was introduced to Brian.. let me tell u he was the best cars salesman I've encounter.. he is the Man U gotta see.. he will be with u till the end and will make sure u drive off with the car of ur dreams.. my experience there was wonderful I was treated like someone they knew for a awhile.. it made me feel comfortable thru out my truck shopping experience.. We drove an hour to see a car here, we ended up with another car and are very satisfied. Brian took care of us without pressure. We were allowed to test drive by ourselves which is not common and we were able to discuss privately what we liked and disliked about each car we tested out. He allowed us to take our time despite it being closing time. It took me a while to decide but he never let us feel we were in a hurry. He even sent an Uber to pick up his wife because he couldn't get away since he was taking care of us. The cars there are high quality making it tough to decide so we may have to come back for another one!! Thanks for the great service and great car.
