ohhh my gosh. I am way overdue on this review because i was here back in December for my first time but THIS is how amazing this place and our experience was that I STILL dream of this memory and can't wait to one day return!! (FYI this review is just for the wine tasting. We didn't actually stay overnight here) We lucked out because we came just before the second (holiday) lockdown so no one else was there and maybe that was a contributing factor to being so well taken care of but you also know good people when you are presented with them. We were gifted fresh home made (DELICIOUS!!!!!) German cookies and some other sugar cookies. We got to listen to our own music and let our dog enjoy the scenery with us which included a beautiful sunset and a beautiful view overlooking a river with a swing to perch on. 10/10 would recommend. Just before we left, we asked for another great winery recommendation and they suggested Fults Family. We went the next day and loved that experience as well. read more

This review is long overdue. If you're looking for a weekend getaway and a hidden gem, this is it. My childhood bestie & I drove about 2.5 hours from SF and arrived at The Stonehouse to celebrate our birthdays. The 1 bedroom house was beautiful, with a wood burning fireplace, outdoor seating, full kitchen, living room and pond in front. The tasting room was beautiful too; very modern, with 3 rooms upstairs and has a cozy feel. The highlight of our stay were the animals--3 gorgeous dogs, 3 llamas, 5 goat and a sheep. Dena served up a delicious breakfast; scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, bagel & cream cheese, green grapes, OJ and coffee w/ peppermint creamer. Absolutely beautiful grounds and a beautiful house. I understand that the winery lost staff but we made reservations for a house at a winery, tasting and a tour only to find out that the tasting room is closed. It's a huge disappointment. No tasting, no tour, no fabulous breakfast as many have stated in their reviews and then no hot water in the house in the morning! It was definitely not the experience that we were looking forward to. I felt bad for the new girl, Claire! Sweet girl who worked her butt off! We WERE given a bottle of wine instead of our tasting and offered a bottle of wine for the lack of hot water but it's not about the wine. This was supposed to be a treat! read more

Hello to the entire team at Bed & Barrel, first and foremost from the moment we drove onto the property we knew we found a special place. Jake & Brewer welcomed us and we had a fabulous afternoon tasting the wines made on-site, feeding the sheep, llamas and rounding up the chickens. We had a wonderful evening enjoying grilling dinner on the patio under the stars, playing shuffle board and then unwinding in our comfortable well appointed guest room. In the morning we arose to a fresh breakfast and was able to enjoy spending time with the team. This is a must go to enjoy wine tastings, Pino Noir was superb and stay to enjoy a few nights or more. I don't even know where to start because there was too much greatness! If you want a quiet, relaxing, romantic, fun getaway, this is the place to go! (Doesn't have to be romantic; can also be fun with girlfriends!) This is an absolutely beautiful 3-bedroom home equipped with everything you can think of for a good time: full kitchen, dining area, patio with BBQ grill, fire pit, plenty of tables and chairs, and we even saw hammocks hanging on some trees! The rooms can be individually booked, or you can book all three for your friends and family. The home sits on a vineyard, so you get to taste their delicious wines. In the dining/living room area, you have access to games and a projector that is connected to Apple TV, so you can project a movie on the wall! How cool is that?! DANIEL gave us the best wine-tasting experience we have ever had. His explanations were thorough and very interesting. It went beyond the "peppery notes with hints of berries" descriptions you usually get at wineries. He explained the winemaking process because he has done it all, from planting grapes to making wine. And he was very kind and patient with all of our questions. And up the hill a little bit there is another home that they rent as well, and if it is vacant, you get full access to the pool! Another thing I appreciated now during covid is that the entire home was very clean! No carpet in the rooms (which makes it feel instantly cleaner already), the sheets smelled of fresh laundry detergent, and the shower was spotless. The rooms also have beautiful wooden patios. And then in the morning, we got a delicious hot breakfast by Gunay! She was so sweet and hospitable. On a sad note, they no longer have the llamas or sheep. But it is still a great experience! Also, don't be scared when you are following the GPS to arrive here! It's literally in the middle of no where! In conclusion to my short novel, we will definitely be returning with friends and enjoy all of the amenities! read more

This place is amazing. My boyfriend (now fiance) took me here for my 35th birthday as a surprise trip. I felt like we were part of the family but it also had a romantic feel at the same time. I say that because my boyfriend proposed to me on site! We walk in with a fabulous dinner prepared and a friendly greeting from everyone including the on site mascot, the Golden Doodle, Brewer. The room was fantastic. Everything modern and clean. The bed was comfortable. The temperature in the room was comfortable. It was quiet and easy to relax. You have the run of the open lower level with its spacious "living room," gourmet kitchen and walk-out to the patio complete with grill, dining area, seating, fire pit - perfect! The host, Dana, was AMAZING! At first we were worried because this Inn is very high class and honestly, we aren't "those people". When we pulled up, we thought this place is gorgeous and everyone must be uppity. (Sorry to those of you who are, no offense) But, as soon as we were greeted by Dana, those fears were gone. She is so kind and sweet. One of the most down to earth people we've ever met! We could tell she was honestly happy to have us and she was willing to go out of her way, above and beyond, to make our stay absolutely amazing. When we heard there were other guests staying... the panic came back. We're not really people persons??... people people??... you know what I mean. Anyway, we hardly even seen the other guests because there was so much to do on the property. And with 150+ acres, you can very easily avoid others if that's how you roll ; ) The rooms are stunning. Elegant and modern with a warm cozy feel. The first full nights sleep, courtesy of the best mattress we've felt in a hotel/Inn, that we've had, in... wow, I can't even remember how long! A full breakfast was made the next morning and we had wonderful conversations with Dana and Mike. One of the most relaxing and calming stays we've ever had. We will absolutely come back to this place over and over again. Thank you Dana and Mike!!! We give you far above 5 star service!!! See you again soon! PS. This is more than a winery, more than a bed and breakfast, and more than I expected by far. Not only are the wines and vineyard amazing, the owner and staff make you feel like part of the family. We got a private tour around the vineyards and even got to feed the llamas. I had the pleasure of staying the night in the suite. It was a modern, beautiful room with a private balcony overlooking vineyards and rolling hills. This place is located in a quite place. It's peaceful in the day, even more peaceful at night. All bed rooms in the main building are pretty new, nice and comfy. We had a family reunion at this awesome place. They are very kind to let us use their commercial grade kitchen to prepare dinner. Dina, the inn keeper, gave us warm welcome. She made delicious breakfast for us. The coffee she made was super. Thanks to Mike who roasts coffee beans. I can't remember all their names. Everyone we met was very nice. We had a opportunity to talk to Jake and Greg. They are knowledge about their soil, their grapes and their wines. They know what they are doing. And they are serious about their wines and the quality of their services provided to their customers. Every one in my family was impressed with this place. Some friends and I were in town for the Konocti Challenge and found Stonehouse Cellars in a magazine that had been given at the event so we decided to give it a try. It's definitely off the beaten path but absolutely worth it!! We only did the wine tasting but I could absolutely see myself staying the weekend there. The place is beautiful and the service for the wine tasting was outstanding!! If you like red wine (like I do) I recommend this place be on top of your list to visit! read more

We stopped by on February 24th for the vertical barrel tasting. This place is a gem! This spot wasn't on our list of places to visit, but someone at Brassfield had recommended it. So so so happy we stopped by, the owner is incredible and so friendly. All of the staff are great, the facility is breath taking, the wine is wonderful. Stunning Place in a Stunning Setting. It's rugged and beautiful on the outside; there are llamas (!), there are vineyards, there's amazing views of the surrounding countryside, it's private and enchanting. Now for the insides - the layout and finishings in the place standout even for a higher end winery/B&B; three bedrooms upstairs, a great wide open living area/kitchen below that would be amazing to host a gathering in or just relax with friends and family. Full disclosure, we know the owners and they are truly lovely people. Have already thought of future events to have there. Oh, and I forgot, the wine is excellent, the food.... (still thinking of that homemade meat pie). Go there to taste wine, go there to stay overnight or for the weekend. read more

I work within the wine industry and have just moved up to the latest hot spot for Vineyards Lake County California. So I have been exploring. I found this winery by accident!? A wrong turn on a country road? I was blown away. Their Bonaria 2015 Bordeaux Blend was Amazing! Daniel Cruz gave me my tasting and a quick tour of his cellar and Punch down pump over tanks. The winery Is BEAUTIFUL! Feels like wine tasting in a millionaires well appointed house. Which they allow wine club members to stay in! Breathtakng Views. My family recently enjoyed a weekend at Stonehouse Cellars. We really appreciated the warm welcome, the amazing reds, the charm of the old Stonehouse, and the exciting design elements of the new structure. And the countryside is beautiful - sweeping vistas, cloudless skies, a warm earthy smell and QUIET. Glitzy it's not. Fun and gracious it is. My favorite piece is the inside stairway in the new building - a gleaming open steel structure that feels good to your hand and nourishes your eyes. Another of my favorites is the outdoor bench, a rustic wooden slab with delicate wrought iron braces that look like bunches of grapes hiding underneath. Very special in an understated way. I stayed there for a weekend with my partner earlier this month and had the most wonderful and unexpected great time. It was an absolute treat. The owner greeted us with pizzas and beers followed by a very personal and fun wine tasting. We capped the night off with s'mores and shuffle board. The property is beautiful and inviting. The staff is knowledgeable and extremely friendly. The rooms are comfortable and top notch. The location is perfect for stargazing, with each room having balcony access with lounge chairs and blankets. We woke up and had such a delicious homemade breakfast. The owner then took us on a tour of the property and through the vineyards. We didn't want to leave. If you're looking for a place to unplug and detach from the business of everyday life, this is it. It's a retreat in itself. You can pick up food on your way and have full access to the kitchen. I only wish we would have stayed longer. We will definitely be back. I took two of my friends to Bed and Barrel for a weekend getaway and to show the Swede in our bunch some excellent wine making. We arrived on a warm afternoon and were taken directly to the fields to get oriented and learn about the vines and wine-making. When we arrived back at the winery the stone fired pizza oven was hot and we were asked what we'd like. The pizzas were being made as we sat around the large upscale yet home-like kitchen island. They had transitioned us right into a tasting while we were all having easy conversation- just like at a friend's house. The evening was full of delicious wine, learning and having a great time. When we decided to retire for the night, the accommodations couldn't have been better. Crisp sheets, comfortable beds, an amazing shower and fluffy towels. In the morning, the sunrise on the hills was epic. It would be a perfect place for a wedding. Worth the trip- for the wine, staff, and facilities. read more

WOW this place is amazing. Great hospitality but even better ambiance. It is like staying in a super nice hotel with 5*****. The aesthetic is contemporary industrial chic -- feels so comfortable. The owners have great taste. The beds are super comfortable. There are verandas on which to sit outside and enjoy the view. If you need a weekend away from the hustle and bustle this feels so remote. About 2.5 hours from the Bay Area. We came from Berkeley. Definitely check out Stonehouse Cellars -- I've been twice and they have only been a short few weeks.
