After we left I realized I accidentally left my trash bag of dirty clothes and Rich not only volunteered to go out and look in the trash bins, yep I tossed out with trash bags, but kindly offered to mail our clothes to our home. It was considerably more cost-effective than a hotel, and much more conducive to enjoying each other's company. We had a great time and were very happy with the home. Pros: Superb views, a beautifully maintained garden and landscape, very private, incredibly clean and comfortable, well-appointed, very friendly owners, short driving distance to St. Helena, Calistoga, etc. Con: Driveway is very difficult to pull out of, being on a blind curve. I believe that a simple measure such as installing a mirror or two would remedy this, and we suggested it to the owner. I suspect that they will be responsive.

Host, Anna, has an eye for detail, which means everything here is aesthetically tasteful and functional. This goes for the interior and extends into the spacious garden area, which is a stone's throw from one of sonoma county's best bike/walking/jogging paths. My gf and I came up from LA, and stayed here for 3 days in late June. It was a blissful getaway...offering the best of what western sonoma county has to offer in terms of comfort, peace and quiet, beautiful countryside, great food (walking distance to the little village of Graton, which has two of the north bay's best restaurants..the Underwood, and the Willowwood Cafe). Casa Ramona is located in wine country, and dozens of tasting rooms are situated within a 20 minute (driving) radius. Some excellent wineries/tasting rooms are within walking distance!! The coast is also a short and spectacular drive away. I can't say enough positive things about this hidden treasure. We'll be back.

With some research we found Chien Blanc Bungalows, a part of NapaVacationHomes.com rentals. Pros - Chelsea, who booked our stay, was very communicative through email with our reservation and provided detailed check in and check out requirements for the rental. - Upon arriving there was plenty of parking in front of the rental and our bungalow was easy to find. We stayed in the Avignon Bungalow. - The Avignon Bungalow was very homey and comfortable (they recently updated the interiors of their bungalows so disregard previous pictures and reviews). I love that we had a kitchen to cook and to store any wine or food that we may be eating or drinking. The mini vanity was my favorite! - As the weather warmed up, we were able to enjoy the gardens on site as well as the outdoor furniture. It was uber romantic! - Love the option of the community room, however, we weren't able to use it during our stay. - Also LOVED the option to pre-order wine for our stay. I loved walking into our bungalow to a bottle of wine that me and my boyfriend can enjoy while we take it all in. Make sure to get the Chelsea Vineyards wine! It's one of their own and you can't get it elsewhere! - While the owners of the bungalows were pretty hands off, which is what we wanted, Chelsea was open to suggesting restaurants and wineries to try which was super helpful. FYI-Calistoga offers a shuttle which picks you up and it's only for a buck!!!! - Last but not least, Location! Location! Location! I can't stress how awesome it was to stay at Chien Blanc Bungalows!! No more than two blocks were many restaurants, coffee shops, stores, a grocery store, and most importantly, winetasting rooms! We didn't have to get into the car to drive anywhere and we didn't have to risk drinking and driving! Cons - I own an iPhone 5s, I know it's a dinosaur. So please disregard my crummy photos as they don't do any justice for Avignon. - We couldn't stay an extra day. I recommend that your stay be at least three days. Two days just wasn't enough for us. - That I didn't get proposed to. (hahaha, no pressure!) All in all, I highly recommend Chien Blanc Bungalows!! We will be back! (in the Arnold voice)

What a cool place to stay in while in Napa valley!…read more Calistoga is a small, charming town full of restaurants and shops to explore. Not to mention, there are many nearby wineries! The Chien Blanc Bungalows are also within walking distance to the main street of town. There are three bungalows and we stayed in the Avignon bungalow. It had a cool red living room and a 1940's kitchen. While a bit outdated, it definitely adds to the charm and my dad had fun figuring out how to light the stove. The bungalow contains one bedroom and the couch in the living room has a pull-out trundle underneath. Both beds can comfortably sleep 2 people each. There's also a game room, but not in the modern sense. It is a cool space though with board games, videos, and tv, darts on the wall, and a pool table. This place also has a great grill for use and my dad enjoyed cooking steaks and hamburgers for dinner. There's a market in town "Cal Mart" that is a two block walk away where you can find food to cook. Otherwise, those restaurants on the main street are also within walking distance. Cute and convenient place!

Each house is uniquely dreamy, nestled in the picturesque town of Occidental. Barbara is truly the most wonderful, kind, and welcoming host. She attended to every single detail to ensure that our wedding day was perfect (even down to wiping off benches after the beautiful morning mist cleared). She is a dear friend and really makes every visit extraordinary. We know we will continue visiting for years to come. While you stay in Occidental, you MUST get food from the Union Hotel. Between visits, my husband and I dream about Garlic Gold pizza, carrot cake, and the best minestrone around. The pizza crust is to die for- fluffy and just the right balance of perfectly browned. The slice of carrot cake is literally larger than my hand and maybe even forearm! Super rich and velvety cream cheese frosting- amazing! We have visited Occidental once during COVID and the Union has an excellent picnic style menu. The food is ordered outside and nicely packaged for take-out or eating at a table in their distanced outdoor area. As someone who has strictly adhered to distancing and other protocols, I felt safe and comfortable! Highest praise for the Occidental Guesthouses and Union Hotel! Left several messages and emails and have had ZERO communication since that last "sure" email. That email alone is so unprofessional. All of the reviews I have come across say the same thing. Sounds like they even cancelled on a couple TWO DAYS before their scheduled wedding and went MIA when asked to get their money back. It sounds like Maria, or whoever is in charge of scheduling, has too much on their plate to handle booking events. I don't care how beautiful a venue they have. Communication is everything especially when planning a wedding. DO NOT BOOK HERE, spend your money somewhere that will appreciate you.

When we arrived the cleaning staff were busy and the state of the home was disgusting. We have posted some pictures to back this up. Maria offered to refund the cleaning fee since we spent hours trying to clean the kitchen. The pool was not able to be used until 6:30pm the first day, rooms advertised as such were not private as they lacked covering on windows or you had to walk through a bedroom to get to another bedroom, the closet in our room was unusable as it was filled with junk, every morning until the last day we had to call the housekeeper to turn on the water, the windows are very dirty, the main bathroom had no window covering, mold in the refrigerator and the list goes on and on. Demetria the lady who takes care of the maintenance was as helpful as she could be under the circumstances. It is impossible for her to clean this house in a four hour time frame. The lack of cleanliness is an accumulation not from the previous guests. The owner made comments when a light fixture fell to the ground that we must have caused it, that the time we had no water was a minimal inconvenience and why do we need to use a closet. Her standards must be rather low if she is happy to rent this place in the state it is in. I had asked her when she was last here and it was apparently two weeks prior so she must have been aware of the condition. We brought our family here for a celebration but based on our recent experience I would avoid this haunted mansion.
