Table setting for our Friday night dinner
    Ali A.

I had the wonderful pleasure of spending 3 nights at the ranch for my friends wedding May 2022. The venue was stunning, from the hip designs and beautiful grounds. The venue is up a gravel road away from any neighboring buildings, so you feel you are truly secluded in a magical place. Large trees surrounded the buildings so you feel you are surrounded by a Northern California forest. I could go on and on about the venue but I must speak about Rachael and family (they run the business(es)). If you wanted to meet a modern day renaissance woman, it's Racheal. She not only was incredibly organized in planning my friends wedding she was so calm and friendly all along the way. Having a wedding at a pretty place is one thing but having it at a place where you feel like it's your home gives such a more meaningful experience. The generosity of her and her family went above and beyond. My parents came and are already figuring out dates so they can celebrate their 50 year wedding anniversary. It's definitely not my last time visiting Yokayo Ranch. Just trying to convince my husband that we should just live on the ranch!

After a thorough inspection, he provided a temporary recharge that kept the system running perfectly for nearly a year. When the unit recently began acting up again, Tyler honored the warranty and returned to troubleshoot. When the initial fix didn't hold, he returned a third time--at no additional charge--to perform a final diagnostic. He concluded that a replacement was necessary and provided a very fair, transparent quote. Having worked for a contractor in Marin for years, I have high standards for tradespeople; Tyler & Mikayla's integrity, professionalism, and dedication to customer service are unmatched. He is now my sole recommendation for HVAC work.

Scheduling was fast -- they were able to install my new heat pump in less than a week. The crew showed up exactly when they said they would, worked efficiently, and finished in the time frame they promised. No surprises, no drama. Because a heat pump behaves differently from my old gas heater, I wanted a few adjustments after living with it for a bit. Tyler came back out, listened to what I was experiencing, made the tweaks on the spot, and dialed everything in perfectly. Great communication, solid work, and excellent follow-through. I wouldn't hesitate to use Mountain House Mechanical again.

My partner and I came here to unwind, and we left feeling deeply nourished, inspired, and recharged. We had some profound creative breakthroughs during our stay, and were finally able to get the kind of rest our bodies and minds were craving. Our dogs were in absolute heaven too, especially swimming in the river nearby! But what made this place truly unforgettable was the people. The hosts are warm, genuine, and full of heart. You can feel how much love and intention has been poured into this land and community. It felt like we were welcomed into a sacred little sanctuary, and we're already dreaming of our next visit. If you're looking for a healing, grounding, soul-expanding getaway, this is it. Thank you to everyone at The Land for creating such a special space. We'll be back soon.

So I found this winery and made an appointment at 2PM 12/25/2019. When we arrived at this little curvy road the GPS stopped working and we didn't know if we were going in the right direction or what. The road kept going UP and UP and we finally arrived at a fence with the name, a little after we saw a house on the top of a hill with a tall guy waiving at us, I was relieved and said "Ohhh God, it seems like we are going to make it". We got inside the house (tasting room if you want to call it) and the setup couldn't of been any better and more relaxing, it was breathtaking. We started with a Rose and a Cabernet Franc from Taylor's (the winemaker's) own label, then we moved to Teachworth Pinot which I didn't like, but I must disclose, we are not Pinot fans, and now the unexpected Christmas surprise, the Teachworth Cabernet Sauvignons!!! I don't remember the exact order, but I do remember the 2 wines from 2013 "Manzanita" and "Rattlesnake" were amazing, I liked the Rattlesnake a notch better! Then we had the 2006 Teachworth Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Blend which blew me away! Man, what a nice and balanced wine. For the wine craziest I will copy and paste my 2 wine notes I posted on CellarTracker: 12/25/2019: This hidden gem is singing now, ready to go with just a 10-20 min decant or opening around one hour before consumption. We took this bottle to our Christmas Dinner at Bistro Jeanty in Napa. The wine has a medium plus body, firm tannin and acidity, sweet berries and a tingly finish! I love it! 95PTS. 12/31/2019: Opened prior to our NYE dinner at an Italian restaurant in Santa Rosa. It was a little acidic at first (no time for decanting) and got much better after the meal arrived. Solid wine. PS: I don't know what those prior reviewers are smoking! "Two hour decant..." The bottle itself says on the back to open the wine one hour prior to consumption, it does NOT recommend decanting. And a 14 year old wine should never be decanted for such a long time (with very few exceptions). 94PTS. As you can imagine I bought several bottles and I will buy more in the future. The wine is great, and the people behind it are great too. Time will tell but mark my words, Taylor Boydstun is the future of winemaking in the area. Watch out for him in a few years from now...

I love Four Springs for retreats because the staff is wonderful, the accommodations are comfy and the setting is just gorgeous. It's back up the mountain so as to make it perfectly peaceful but not so far as to make it an ordeal to get there. Trust me, I know about remote retreats. Tassajara comes to mind. No narrow gravel road over a steep mountain pass necessitating 4WD. Love Tassajara but sometimes it's nice to be some where easier to get to. Four Springs is it. They always have great meals and very interesting seminars if you are into that. I would have my corporate Team Builder at Four Springs in a heart beat if I needed to. Their retreats and seminars are wonderful. I was on a yoga retreat here once. It was great. Spacious quiet rooms. Not glitzy. Not glamorous. Just true California simplicity.
