I don't typically write reviews but seeing as I just feel like I have been waiting and waiting to hear things back from someone who works at Findlay, I'd say I've become impatient and will now be taking my business elsewhere. I had a quote done a little before Thanksgiving and received a quote on the 26th. After requesting a little more information on the 30th with no response I decided to follow back up coming into the New Year on the 4th after all the holiday craziness was done. I received word that I would be getting an updated quote with the other things I had requested ASAP. It is now January 18th with no update and another follow-up on my end will still no response. read more

Based on the crew that came to our home, I would absolutely NEVER recommend Findlay Roofing. The crew (which is luck of the draw - you never know which one you will get) had no intention on bringing the dumpster the day prior and they did not attempt to contact us about any delay. The day they did show up with the dumpster, they hit our garbage cans and didn't put them back where they were left by us, the homeowners. They showed up a day late with the dumpster and there was no communication. They kept the front porch and the back porch covered with shingles which made me, as the homeowner who was inside at the time, basically a prisoner in my own home, unable to even go outside of my home. To top it off, the crew damaged our siding as well as leaving siding and the porches streaked with tar from the shingles. As if the non-communication and the damage to our house was not enough, Findlay Roofing runs a business that does not allow the crew to use the bathroom. They didn't knock on the door to ask to use the restroom, they did not leave our property to use the restroom, instead .. they used the restroom on our property, pooping in our backyard, under the chimney. Based on my experience with Findlay Roofing, I would never recommend them to anyone. They were supposed to come out the day after installation to see if everything was ok, if we had concerns, etc. and we never saw anyone show up, even though we were home all day. read more

My house had two leaking spots on the roof caused by the tree branches over the year. In the past few months, we got six trees cut down. Hubby called Findlay Roofing due to Clark Howard's recommendation on WSB Radio. Thomas and "Larry" came out to check out the roof. Close to an hour later. Thomas ordered "Larry" to go on top of the roof to see what was going on and said it would be $985 to fix the leaking roof where the master bedroom was located. The gutters would be removed and he would get the other guys who work with Findlay Roofing to come out and do an estimate. "Larry" did not speak at all and is Latino. He did all the work while Thomas did the paperwork. Thomas scheduled the gutter guys to come out the following week. He said it should only cost between $200-300. A few days later, it rained. The leak in the master bedroom was fixed. However, we still had a leak in the bathroom connecting the master bedroom. Thomas and "Larry" came out to fix it and put tar on top to stop it. However, with the massive rain the following days, it was still leaking...bad Hubby called Thomas back again and Thomas said they did their best and we needed to replace our pipe and that would be another $700. He kept saying he did fix the leak in the master bedroom. Well, technically, "Larry" did. When it was finally sunny, hubby went on top of the roof to check it out. "Larry" put the tar on what he thought it was a leak but it wasn't. The pipe was good and did not need to be replaced. Hubby found the hole where the leak is. He decided to fix the leak himself, watching YouTube videos and he did. The gutter guys came out and said that they would have to replace ALL the gutters. Yeah, even the good ones and it would be $1k. No thank you. Hubby was able to fix the leak on the roof by watching YouTube videos. He says he will fix the gutter himself too. I would NOT suggest Findlay Roofing to anyone after our experience. I wonder if Clark Howard got paid or has a partnership to advertise them. 69/2018 read more

Findlay Roofing replaced our roof on April 10, 2020. A crew of about 7 - none of whom were English-proficient unless there was someone who remained uncommunicative - began work without even knocking on the door to alert us to their presence. During the entire day, only one worker communicated with us (twice) and only via gestures - once to plug in a heavy-duty extension cord inside the house and once to unplug it. There was no on-site supervisor, before, during, or after the job, that was identified as such. There was no final walk-through with us as stated in the contract; in fact, the crew left without even letting us know they were leaving. For days afterward, and as late as May 25, we were finding loose nails and tarpaper in our yard. A piece of tarpaper was also found behind our cooktop vent. We found bags of nails in the attic vent after their departure. This carelessness with debris does not bode well in a household with animals (which they could not have failed to be aware of) and a residential neighborhood with a fair number of children, especially for a company whose website boasts, "We protect your yard, and your family, as if it were our own." Debris is possibly the cause too of some bumps under the new shingles. We had to call and request an inspection after the job was completed. Our concern about debris in the yard was addressed only by the inspector removing some of the debris from underneath the gutter; he also repaired one of the loose gutters. He did not issue an apology (which would have gone a long way toward good will) nor even exhibit surprise. Payment status is not an issue; we paid for the job in full 4 days after it was completed, per their invoice sent to us via e-mail on April 10 stating they require payment in full upon completion. The only reason it wasn't paid ON April 10 is because the day before, they called to move the project up a week and we had not moved the funds yet. Our questions and concerns could have been addressed had there been project supervision (English-speaking), had someone contacted us as a follow-up courtesy, or had we been treated more respectfully afterward. We wrote a letter to the owner, Mr. Steve Findlay, on May 4, listing our concerns. As of this date, June 2, that letter has not been answered nor have we been contacted in any way by anyone about it. Findlay's advertising brags of its customer service and reputation. In an e-mail requesting we review their company and the job on our house, we find the comment that "customer satisfaction is our number one priority." We have found their inflated claims to be sorely inaccurate in our case and would never refer them to anyone we know. They also said in the e-mail that our review "would mean the world" to them. I have to write this review because I was so appreciative of the repair work done by quality control supervisor, Ricky. He is honest, polite and so professional in handling the warranty repair. What he did helps his company to keep current customers as well as their good reputation. I had made several repair request. Previous repairs are done very well. Jerry who normally handles repair calls are extremely nice, and the lady who answered the phone is equally pleasant to talk to. Bottom line is that this company keeps their promise and honor the warranty as customers expect. read more

I had a water issue in my commercial building that I presumed was associated with the roof. Findlay sent their representative Mark Deraney out to give me a repair estimate. It turns out my problem was not a roof problem at all!! Mark told me how to determine the source of the water and spent time that he knew was not going to lead to a roofing job. Talk about putting the customer first! Mark showed up 10 minutes early, was extremely professional and knowledgeable. When he needed more information, Findlay roofing had plenty of expertise "on staff" for Mark to call on. Chris Stull is the tech guy Findlay sent out to do an estimate on the roof for a house being sold. The closing was in jeopardy due to a condition the bank had set regarding the roof and we had a very short time to save the deal. The estimate was very competitive and Chris assured me they could meet our deadline. The challenge so far had been a chimney cap was needed and requires custom fabrication. Before Findlay the best estimate we got was a couple weeks after the closing and the bank would not budge on requiring the work before closing. Findlay really pulled out all the stops. Within a week they had replaced the roof and chimney cap and saved the deal. The bonus was they were the most competitive quote out of five. The roof looked great and the buyers have been happy with the house. The best way I know to show appreciation for a job well done is to give my repeat business. An estate house we were selling also needed a new roof so I called Chris and he gave me a great price. The upgrade to architectural shingles and a ridge vent was too good to pass up. They came out and did a fantastic job. The roof made a huge difference and we got multiple offers on the house and ended up selling $10k over asking. The people at Findlay are as nice as can be and really saved me for the first sale. The are professional, fast and do a great job. They say they do volume business to keep prices down but they don't skimp on quality. Overall I was extremely happy with Findlay and Chris in the two times I have used them. read more

Had numerous roof leaks for years had all kinds of people rip me off because I have a patio for the rooftop where builder did not install membrane under the tile. Finlay came removed slate tile, removed plywood and redid my entire roof and patio so professionally. No dirt left they had to removing the metal railing all that was done they got there on time work fast they never even came in house to use bathroom they were great best contractors I had do work in my home so happy money well spent with guarantees. I'm not certain of the work they do because they never sent me an estimate and when I told them I would look elsewhere they could care less. I waited two weeks on them before canceling, not to mention the tech was late showing up the day he inspected my roof. Not a pleasant experience with this company. I guess my leaking roof was to minor a problem for them to worry with. Just save yourself the hassle and go else where. Update I finally got the estimate. I approved the work because the other company I had do an estimate was nearly 3x the amount of Findlay. The work appears solid that they did even though they showed up the next day without the office scheduling the appointment. While I'm glad they were prompt I would like more like advanced notice than "we are on he way." It was an odd experience but they were cheap and appear to do good work. I really don't care for our roof that Marietta Findley Roof applied. . In picking colors we were given several addresses to look at roofs they had applied. I kept saying the same thing at each roof. They are not as architecturally appealing as our 20 yr old roof. My Husband repeated this several times to our salesman . He was told this was the roof that they do and top of the line shingles. After our roof was applied, I find out now that Owens Corning does have probably what I wanted. Guess what...it was on back order. The wait and these shingles were not offered. This roof was about the sale and not the Customer. That's what makes a good company, even if it results in the loss of a sale. If the Customer is happy, they tell lots of people. If the Customer is not, they tell even more. If Marietta Findley Roof doesn't totally have what you want, move on. This roof will be what you look at for many years and LOTS of your hard earned money. Curb appeal and being proud of your home each time you look at it, , is really important . I feel they should reapply the roof I would have chosen, paying only the difference in the cost of the shingles that I would have paid for in the first place. I had my garage roof replaced by Roof Roof (Findlay Roofing) in 2016. When Hurricane Florence hit in the fall of 2018 I suffered severe water damage in my garage. My garage door opener was damaged and the majority of the drywall needed to be replaced. A Roof Roof employee came out three times. They replaced the flashing and some rusted nails that shouldn't have been in that condition within two years. It wasn't until I opened a large section drywall in the garage ceiling that I noticed they didn't replace all the plywood when they replaced my roof. There were mixed wood materials and they were stained with water damage. I had the representative come back out to view what I had discovered and they assured me it would be taken care of. Needless to say, I've contacted them numerous times and even emailed the owner so they could come out and fix my roof properly. They have pictures and video proof of the damage and shoddy work. I have a five year warranty on this roof and they aren't honoring that commitment. A lawyer is my next course of action. read more

I had my roof installed on July 15. During the time of installation my AC downstairs went out. I called my home warranty company and they sent a technician next day. It was determined that during the roof replacement, they punched a hole in the refrigerant AC line . This caused a leak and my AC needed to repairs. I called Findlay July 16 and I emailed them. I was told on Monday July 18, that per my customers expectations form they are not liable. I was floored! They were careless and causes this issue. I am out of hundreds of dollars! Findlay Roofing installed our new roof in July 2012. Initially all was well and it seemed like they did a good job. This was not an insurance job. We paid out of our own pocket. We got "lifetime" shingles, which we paid a premium for, and which came with a 10 year "workmanship" warranty. In addition, we also paid an additional $275 for the extended warranty to be doubly safe and secure in this expensive purchase. In January 2023 we had a roof leak which made water streak down our living room wall. I pulled out our original paperwork with our warranty information and immediately called. I left several messages over several days but never got any response. In frustration I called another number listed for Findlay and ended up talking with someone in their Georgia office who told me that each location was individually owned and operated and that basically he couldn't help me. We ended up finding another contractor to fix the leak. Because of this experience I would never recommend Findlay roofing. They did not stand behind their warranty and would not return calls and were not there for us when we needed them most. If anyone from Findlay is reading this and is willing to reimburse us for the cost of the leak repair then I would be willing to change my review to positive. read more

We chose Findlay Roofing after researching roofing companies around the Woodstock, GA / Cherokee County area. Findlay Roofing is on Dave Baker Dave Baker The Home Fix iT Show, and it appears from all research that they are a good roofing company with good reviews, however we have had nothing but problems. Our whole roof was installed on January 26, 2023. Since then, we have had many problems and countless return visits for issues with our install and it is now June 27, 2023 and we still have on going issues. 1) Findlay Roofing subcontracted out our roof to a roofing crew that was not supervised correctly by Findlay Roofing. 2) We had a roof leak immediately after installation due to poor roofing installation. 3) The ridge vent was cut incorrectly. 4) Our HVAC vent pipes were taken out of building code. 5) We had two colors (black and white, no one asked what color we wanted though) of drip edge installed in various places around the roof line which looked ridiculous and Findlay came back and painted the drip edge in some areas to match. 6) The flashing was not removed and reinstalled properly at our fireplace causing issues with our siding. 7) We have consistently had issues with the back roof edge. We have been told it wasn't installed correctly at the gutter/drip edge and is lifting the shingles. They came to make it better, however, it is still not laying down and is wavy along the back roof edge of our home. 8) We included a new chimney vent in our quote and this had to be installed a different day than the roofing installation because it wasn't included with the roofing crews installation. At this point, we are at a loss with the overall highly questionable workmanship of this roofing companies installation. There is a high level of disregard for the customer in time and value, for all that the customer has to deal with when Findlay Roofing is the company that did a terrible installation on our roof. All we have expected was what we paid for, which was a good roof installation. read more

This review reflects not on their work, but on their customer service. I was purchasing a home with a pre-arranged new roof coming prior to closing by Findlay and paid for by the seller. I contacted Findlay and unfortunately was referred to "Joel". I was interested in upgrading the roof option and was willing to pay for the difference in price. He appropriately gave me quotes, sent me photos, and we were both of the understanding that we were under a time crunch, as the new roof was to go on at a pre-determined date. He told me EXPLICITY that we had until a Friday at 6PM. He sent me price quotes on a cedar shake roof (arguably the most expensive and potentially most lucrative to them) at 3:44 PM, stating "we are a go for $xxxxx for the cedar shake. I would say that is a great deal comparatively to the competitive price we started at." I asked for pictures of the product (something he had yet to send me), 45 minutes later he obliged at 4:45PM, and I agreed to the project at 4:57, a mere 12 minutes after he sent me photos. It wasn't until 6:34 that he would finally get back to me and say that was "really sorry, but the materials were ordered just after we finished talking." He refused to return my calls and responds very rudely only by text, that "The scheduling for the roof is kind of a set in stone thing especially since it takes one day for a shingle install and 2 days for cedar." I asked to talk to his superior, for which I was declined. He admitted that he had no idea that cedar shakes took more than one day (due to his inexperience) and completely reneged on a price and deal that we had come to. Despite multiple calls and complete refusal to let me talk to his superiors, they refused to reschedule despite me agreeing to pay the $2000 rescheduling fee (for which I truly feel I was not responsible because it was their employees incomptency that began the whole process). Quite possibly the most unprofessional experience I have ever encountered. I searched this Mr. Joel and he admits on Facebook that he has been with the company for a grand time of 1 month. Ha. In May 2013, as we were preparing to buy a new house, our real estate agent and inspector recommended that we have the roof inspected by an independent roofing company. We called Findlay Roofing. They came out to the house and only found a small area of the roof that needed repair and they gave us an estimate for that repair. We scheduled them to do the repair work multiple times and they kept not showing up. I guess because it was such a small job, we kept getting moved to bottom of the list. We finally got the work done and they left a mess behind. There were stray shingles left on the roof and roofing nails in the driveway. (My husband found one nail the hard way). The first week we moved in, there were heavy rains in Cobb County and our roof leaked. Now, every time we have even moderate rain, we find a new leak (so far: foyer, kitchen, and multiple spots in the dining room). We will now be spending $8k to replace this roof that should have been replaced before we bought the house. If Findlay had done an adequate job in their inspection, the seller would have had to pay it instead of us. Needless to say, we won't be giving Findlay Roofing another shot. read more

The technician told me the roof was not leaking, but instead the wood cornerboards on the chimney. Didn't offer to fix it for me and told me to contact a handyman to get it fixed. Ended up having to call several companies before finding another roofing company who fixed the leak in about 10 minutes with a tube of caulk. Findlay installed a new roof 10 years ago. In the past 3 years there have been 4 leaks. For a recent leak, I was quoted $650 to seal shingle joints in a 6 x 6 foot area. I was under the impression that shingles were to be replaced and specifically discussed with the representative what type of shingles would be used. The actual work was to silicone the shingle joints that took less than an hour and no other materials were used. This pricing structure is outrageous. Other complany indicated that for the work described he would have charged $250. That weekend I discovered another significant leak, but due to this experience will never use Findlay again. read more

This company are total scammers; David Garab with this roofing company AKA Roof Roof took my sister on a roofing job in Rossville, GA they replaced in North West Georgia - Rossville, Ga; they were in East Ridge at the time; a guy by the name of David Garab; he is working for this company now. The roof is only 3 or 4 years old and is buckling; I found David Garab phone number in a suburb of Atlanta and called him and he said he is not in the roofing business anymore; but I see is still working in this business; If this guy is affiliated with any business beware; I think a lot of roofing companies go from city to city and scam women and the elderly. If this company does any work for you as for their current business license and check in the county where they will be performing the work. read more

Would not use again even if the job was free! They destroyed much of my vegetation (broke bushes, stomped plants, trampled my lawn) and left food wrappers and trash all over the yard. Even after supposedly sweeping our driveway with a magnet, they left over two dozen roofing nails in our driveway and they drove across our lawn (tore it up and damaged our main water line) after specifically being told not to do so! We highly recommend Findlay Roofing to those looking for an honest and professional roofing company. Alex one of their salesmen in the Woodstock area came over and gave us a quote. He was informative and cordial. The roofers worked hard and showed up on time both days and did a great job cleaning up after themselves. The following day the trailer that was parked in the driveway to pickup the debris was removed. Nicole in customer service called and asked how we would prefer the bill, by email or regular mail. A few days later I received the bill. Payment was made and the warranty was mailed back to us. We are happy with the results of our new roof and our decision to hire Findlay Roofing. read more

They set up appointments to take up your valuable time and then never get in touch again even after I reached out twice to follow up . Simply put if you have to beg for a quote I seriously doubt the rest of the process would be a very good experience. We had someone come out to give an estimate on repairing a roof leak, and he was so rushed from the time he entered the door that he was basically out of breath walking through the house. He took a 10 second look at the leak, then hurriedly looked at it from the roof. His entire visit was 8 minutes long tops, and then he quoted us $650 just to fix one small roof leak, including us providing the shingles! He couldn't provide a breakdown of the quote and when we said it sounded way too high, he sent a sarcastic and short response. And the $650 didn't include more work that would probably need to be done once they opened it up and got a better look at the attic. Sorry, but $650 for maybe $50 in materials and 2-3 hours of work, and rude/rushed service just doesn't cut it for me. read more

The salesman was very professional, the roofers did a great job, but they were overpriced and in addition No one from the roofing company followed up to see the quality of work that the technicians did. The only reason I went with them is that they got the insurance company to pay for the roof. Otherwise I would've shopped for someone cheaper -- there are plenty of good roofers out there who are reasonable. I suggest shop around before you go with these guys. read more

Lazy diagnosis, Over priced. Stay Away Called Findlay to have them look at slight leak along the edge of a bedroom ceiling adjacent to an outside chimney. Von came out and looked at brown spot on ceiling, went into the attic and walked around the yard. Said the flashing around the chimney needed to be removed and replaced and that it would be $1500. Estimate to follow. Have never received an estimate! I had already decided to get a second and third opinion. Glad I did. Dr Roof came out, Saw room and attic and walked the roof. Said flashing and roofing OK just some leaky pipe boots and minor cracks in stucco. Another firm came out, saw room and attic and walked the roof and came to the same to conclusion as Dr Roof but added that some of the flashing needed to be resealed as the caulk had come loose after 10 years. Decided to use third firm. Felt that Findlay did crappy job to identifying the problem and was quick to offer a $1500 solution to a non-existent problem. Findlay quote me installation of 3 skylights with ice&water barrier and replace shingles on first story of my house. But they only install the 3 skylights with no ice&water barrier and only replace the shingles around the skylights. Asked the installer what if it leaked. He said the will come back and install the ice&water barrier since we got the warranty. I complained and they came back a few days later to install ice&water on one of the skylights but replaced shingles on part of the first story roof. I have proof, in writing, of what they supposed to do. At this point, I am considering legal actions against this company. read more

Horrible customer service. Had a quote done for wind damage to my roof over a month ago and have been trying to schedule the repair ever since. I have left multiple messages and spoke with their main office multiple times requesting the scheduling of the repair needed for my roof. I have signed and returned the estimate with no response back. I would not recommend using this firm as I now am looking for another vendor to complete my repairs. read more

Do you need a new roof? We did. After talking to several neighbors who used Findlay Roofing we decided to call them. A salesman by the name of Shane Dawson came over and gave us an estimate. The estimate seemed like a fair price but unfortunately our insurance would not pay for a new roof. So my wife and I started to save our money. I realize that insurance money is no different than your out of pocket money, but you know what I mean. Later on in the year we saved enough money for the new roof. Shane said prices had gone up but he would honor the original quote. So we started the process and Findlay installed our new roof. After the install my wife and I noticed a few imperfections in the drip edge. Tony Wyss the Co-Owner of Findlay Roofing made it clear that "he would not be happy until we were happy". How many roofing companies would do that? Stand behind their product and workmanship? Well, they did. Our roof and drip edge looks great. It was installed with the quality and perfection that we expected from Findlay Roofing. I know your home is probably one of the largest investments most people will ever make. And a roof is probably one of the most expensive improvements you will make. Findlay Roofing has a great warranty. If you are in the market for a new roof I would not hesitate to give them a call.
