I had to go on a trip for a Month and had no one to take care of my parakeet. Sadly I had to put him up for adoption. As after my trip I had to have major surgery and was afraid I wouldn't be able to take good enough care for him. My beloved African Grey who was with me for 28 years passed away not too long ago. I was heartbroken and left a huge hole in my heart. She told me that they had an African Grey that needed adoption. A 22-year-old who had an owner that was no longer able to care for him. Marie was so kind and caring. She answered all my questions and I began to really be so excited about having a new bird companion in my life. She had an opening the next day, and I came and met Beau for the first time. He was friendly and got right on my finger and the bond was made. I found Marie to be a truly exceptional person. She cares so much about all the birds that she works with. She was so loving and knowledgeable about every detail. I must say that I've never met anyone quite like her. She and her husband, Charlie, helped to put everything in my car and she gave me a huge box of food and toys and just about everything that Beau could need. Beau is a true delight! He fit right into our family and it's hard to express how much having him in my life needs to me. I was quite shocked at how reasonable the adoption fee was considering that she had paid for very expensive tests to check his health DNA and other things.
