In my experience, these services have always been 100% covered, even out of network. I was never informed of the cost before being taken into the room and having the cleaning done. When I questioned this, they told me it was my responsibility to ask about pricing and that they were not obligated to inform me beforehand. I took it as a lesson learned for not asking in advance, since I had never had to pay for a basic cleaning before. About a month later, I received another bill for an additional $155.40. I called regarding these new charges, and the person who answered said she would escalate it to the manager. Two months later, I was sent yet another charge--this time $20 for a "processing fee." Their reasoning was that I did not respond to their attempts to contact me, even though I had been the one consistently calling them about the bill. The front office staff refuses to take any responsibility or accountability. They deny everything and shift the blame back onto the patient. At this point, I feel like I'm being scammed.
