I recently tried Green Front Restaurant for the first time, and it was an absolute rollercoaster of an experience. The kitchen clearly knows what it's doing, but the front-of-house needs some serious help. We began with the fried pickle chips, which were amazing--served piping hot, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. The kitchen is remarkably quick, too; almost immediately after our appetizers arrived, the staff was already at our table taking main course orders. For my entree, I ordered the chicken tenders and fries basket. The tenders were perfectly golden and incredibly crispy, served with a generous mountain of fresh crinkle-cut fries. I'd rate the tenders a solid 3.5/5--my only minor critique is that they could be a bit more generous with the dipping sauce for a portion that size. My dad also ordered a beer, which was poured beautifully with a nice head. Unfortunately, the front-of-house experience completely dragged the meal down with some glaring cleanliness and professionalism issues. I found a long hair wrapped right around the lemon wedge in my iced tea. To make matters worse, I watched the staff member pouring drinks rub her mouth right at the drink station before handling other beverages. Meanwhile, the lady behind the counter was completely disengaged, literally just scrolling on her phone instead of focusing on the dining room. The overall neglect was obvious if you looked around. Hanging directly above our dining table was a vintage wall thermometer covered in a heavy, flaking buildup of rust and grime--definitely not what you want hanging over your food. Even the bathroom was neglected, with trash and used paper towels left on the floor. If you are strictly judging by the kitchen's output, the food tastes fantastic and comes out incredibly fast. However, management desperately needs to invest in a deep clean and have a serious huddle with the staff regarding basic front-of-house hygiene. read more

Great spot to pop in for a quick lunch or just to enjoy the games. I came in around noon on a Saturday and there was plenty of seating available. I ordered their wrap and loved that they added ample dressing so it wasn't dry. I opted to sub the kettle chips for their macaroni salad which I highly recommended because it wasn't overly dressed up with mayo and had the right amount of celery for that crunch. We shared a chicken bacon Margherita pizza with a truffle balsamic vinegar drizzle. So good. Dough was thinner and crispy with a good yeast pull. Loved it. My Dad lives in Geneva and we wanted to try something new, so we headed to the Green Front tonight. Small hole-in-the-wall off of one of the main drags in Canadaigua. Easy to find, plenty of free parking. We got there early on a Wednesday night and everyone was friendly and accommodating. The place had a pretty good crowd for late afternoon mid-week. My Dad had the fish fry and I had the fried shrimp basket with sweet potato friends. Both meals were fantastic, our server was great, and it was reasonably priced! Win! We will be back. read more

We arrived here late at night around 9pm. It was the only place that was opened for miles, since everywhere closes at 8pm. There is a convenient parking lot across the street with plenty of parking and handicap parking as well. The entrance is wide enough to be wheelchair accessible. Our bartender was really friendly. He greeted us and told us we could sit wherever we wanted. We choose to sit at the bar and he gave us food and drink menus. We asked him for recommendations an he suggested that dusted wings and the pizza. We decided to try the Downeast cide (original), and ordered the home sweet wings. The wing took a bit to be cooked about 15-20mins. They weren't that busy, but I imagine they didn't have much people working in the kitchen that late at night. We got our wings which were very hot and fresh. They were crispy and tender and came with blue cheese and some celery sticks. We shared the wings between us and had 5 wings each. We were pretty full and happy. The cider was really good too, very sweet and full of flavor. It's a pretty casual setting and there's plenty of seating avalible. read more

In Upstate New York at Lake Canadaguia for Labor Day and could not of asked for a more beautiful weekend with my cousins. The weather is cool at night and gorgeous during the day. The flowers and greenery is superb this time of year. After walking down Main St, we decided to stop at a local staple for lunch. Green Front is a go to place according to the store owners and has solid food choices for a bar like establishment. The restaurant is clean, welcoming and hosted by long time employees from the area. Each employee greeted us warmly and smiled. We had a brisket burger, cooked perfectly to our order, chips and an order of onion rings with the exact crunch needed. The dipping sauce was unique, a wickedly good bite and was use to dip the crust of our pizza. The rings were served warm, good amount and could of been a meal on their own. The large white garlic pizza with mushrooms and meatballs was huge and packed with flavor. If you are looking to fill up with a good meal and a reasonable price point, visit the Green Front in Lake Canadaguia. It has pasted the test of time. Nice meal. read more

It was 50 plus years since my last meal at the Green Front. The restaurant has evolved leaps and bounds. The size of the area's to dine was amazing. Very clean and comfortable. We had a party of nine and the staff was absolutely pleasant and accommodating to our family. The service and food were on point. We had pizza (very good), chicken wings (extra crispy) with garlic parmigiana sauce that was fantastic. We also had the big beefy sandwich which was tasty and packed with lean meat. The fries, grilled pickles, soup, and salad was well presented and easy to eat. We were very impressed by the staff and their willingness to make us happy. Nice little spot off the beaten path in a very unassuming location. This is a borderline 3/4 star restaurant all day. Wish I could say it was a solid four-out-the-door but the experience I had just wasn't. The good; food is delicious! I had a burger on the "heel" with bacon, cheese, crumbly blue and of course lettuce + tomato. Decent burger, better than average, but not the best I've had. Opted for the crinkle cut fries with what they call "dusting" (seasoning) on top. This seasoning had me praising the lord with its slightly spicy, mesquite and intriguing -flavor profile. Imagine old bay seasoning with some extra pizzazz to it. Fries were hot, crunchy and the dusting took it to the next level. Fries were a 10/10 for me. My lovely wife opted for the steak salad with blood orange vinegar dressing. She loved it. The not so good; service was rather lackluster. Started off great with a friendly bubbly server who was very personable and engaged with us. She then disappeared and never returned until we were finishing our final bites. We asked for more water and she completely forgot. They also forgot to bring our soup. Had she checked in on us earlier this would've been caught. We then waited an awfully long time for her to return to pay our bill that I just walked the check up and paid for it. Apart from the slight mishaps with service, I still highly recommend this place. Everywhere else in the area seems to be grossly overpriced and under quality. Will definitely return! read more

Visited Canandaigua for the day, and the Green Front was recommended by a local. We stopped in and were sat right away. I got a chicken ranch wrap, and my fiancé got fish and chips. My wrap was pretty good. My fiancé loved the fish and chips. The only thing is this place is a bit pricey. For example, I was charged $17 for the wrap, and it only came with bagged chips, no fries.
