First right off the bat the server was in inadequate. Took out drink order told me they where out of champain. Did not let me look quick for alternative. She said she was busy with another drink order and would come back. Rude. By the time she returned my husband was ready for another while I say partched , sitting in the muggy eating area. Pizza shop in the front restaurant in the back. They had ceiling fans but they where mot on! My drink was sweating and warmed very fast in the humid air! While we waiting a bug flew in NY drink. My husband called them canal bugs! My husband ordered a steak. But that was not longer on the menu. They change the type of meat. Still at market value. Came with some over cooked blacken Brussels and fries. Apparently the truffle and balsamic was left out as well. Steak comes in truffle butter. Sprouts used to come with pancetta, and fries were to have truffle butter! All non exsitent. We asked for the glaze for the spouts. Her response was that it came with it. My husband pointed out it was non exsitent. She looks at the plate and takes it saying she will see if they will fix it! Really. Just bring it on the side. She came back as quickly as she left. She was what we call flighty! She did not give us a chance to order another drink or to ask questions. I ordered the empanadas. They where 2 large ones when I last went. Best around. Not anymore! 2 small over cooked shells with a side of sour cream that was it! I requested salsa that I thought was on the menu to come with it. Response was oh we do not have that. I asked for hot sauce she brings this big bottle of some brownish red watery stuff in tobacco bottle. It was not put not the same. Then I noticed it was our dated. Inside the shell was 95% potatoes. Whereres the beef!? When she came to clear the plates she never asked how anything was. Asked if my husband wanted a box for this meat. My husband told her the Brussels were over cooked. Chewy and burnt. She just went in to say how she tells them but they keep doing it. My thoughts. Ok but you brought it to the table! With out the glaze or truffle butter! Never offered to rectify the issue. So very said and mad. Should of went to Victor as that was the plan. If you look how good was from past reviews to what they serve now. You will see a bug difference. Be wary of the menu and the details. Last note. After we ordered or food I could of swarn she was reading a list of speacials to another table. Unless... I got a pint of beer here once and let me tell you, it was good. The staff clearly cared about the customers as they expertly and detail orientedly poured the perfect pint. Legend has it there is no such thing as a perfect pint, we can only try our best to get as close as humanly possible to it. I think maybe we were wrong, because the 120 employees at Craft 120, that's how they got their name because there's 120 people working there, have perfected the craft. Hats off truly. read more

If you hit it on the right night, service is good. Food is consistently good. One night we went and the level of service was 'surly diner' and we almost didn't go back. But we were curious about the Wagyu steak special. There's not a whole lot of Wagyu going on in 'ol Wayne County, so we figured we better try it. We returned and we had a much better service experience, upgraded from diner to sophisticated bistro or true gastropub. Wagyu was overcooked, but that's our fault for not specifying 'very rare'. Given the high amount of fat in Wagyu, the difference in cooking time/heat between umami and shoe leather is razor thin and asking for 'medium rare' was a big mistake. A temperature should actually not be specified for this delicate grade of meat. Chef should always prepare it rare. Any more cooking is a waste of money. If you're asking for Wagyu, you should know what to expect. Also, don't cut it up London Broil style! Who does that with any steak not specifically named 'London Broil'. Why would you release all those delicious juices and let it get cold? While we did say we wanted to share it, we can cut it ourselves. Anyway, we liked the overall experience the second time and we'll try again, but with much more specific ordering on that steak. It's right by the canal with lots of outdoor seating. Bartender/waiter was extraordinarily nice and made my wife the perfectly prepared drink. If only the Wagyu was that well-prepared but we will get them there. read more

I started off with a Smuttynose Old Brown Dog beer from NH, followed by a meal of Salmon, and then you pay for each side. I had Mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Bicycling day today so I had an appetite still for dessert: Flourless chocolate torte. Everything was delicious!! There is Outdoor seating here and very quiet on a Tuesday early evening. Exciting new place in Newark that was much needed. Have been there a few times since opening and very much like some of the changes that have made. The addition of family style vegetable side dishes was needed and appreciated. Bone in pork chops are excellent and a very large portion good for sharing. Salmon was cooked perfectly with a nice crispy sear and a tasty sauce. Flight of filet mignon was good but not great, possibly a better cut of meat would elevate this dish. Risotto was excellent, very creamy and flavorful. Apps are good but not great and could use some variety. Poutine is good and worth trying. Duck wings could be cooked more but were crispy and had a good sauce. Salads are good and a very large portion size. Chimichanga is ok, could use more flavor - really needs something more. Drinks are spot on. Excellent selection and well made. Good draft selection and welcomed in the area. Service is typically pretty good, although some nights can be a bit slow. Always friendly and polite. Overall this is the best restaurant in Newark. Excited to see how they improve over the years to come. read more

Stopped here for a quick bite after. Our way back from vacation. The venue was gorgeous -canal side plus the dining room and bar were beautiful. The beer choices were great. The food unfortunately was just average. We had a Caesar salad with grilled shrimp ( could not see any grill marks on the shrimp.) Also had a turkey maple bacon panini with spinach and tomato. It was inexpensive at $6.00 but nothing special. The bacon was chewy not crisp. Beers were yummy. You enter through a Pontillos pizza. Sort of odd. This would be a great place for a couple of beers on a summer night. I can only hope some of the other selections are better. With a view like this, there is hope for this place. read more

Excellent meal while traveling along Highway 31 in Newark, New York. Spot was nicely situated alongside the Erie Canal, so we ate outside on the patio. It was beautiful and calm. Inside there is a nice dining area with a bar you could sit at if you wish. My girlfriend had the New York State flatbread which was New York Cheddar with New York apples on a flat bread. She loved it. I tried the Moscow Mule Chicken which was grilled chicken marinated in a ginger beer with red peppers and cilantro. I loved it. The rest of the menu seemed equally as interesting and I'm sorry that this is likely to be the only time I'll be in Newark, so I doubt I'll have the opportunity to stop by here again. They also have a nice selection of craft beers and wines to select from. Staff was wonderful and very accommodating. Newark is lucky to have a place like this in its midst. I enjoyed the chicken linguine special tonight. Absolutely delicious. My wife however, ordered the triple filets expecting a bed of mashed potatoes.... No. Instead, there were some potato hashbrown-style fingers.. Only a few. Odd because the smallest bed of mashed potatoes would have really made this meal pop. They missed on this one because the meat alone was good, but adding a simple mashed potato would have made this meal a true 10. For $23, let's add a cheap mashed pdotato. read more

Nice change to the Newark restaurant scene. I went during the first week of them being open so things were a little hectic and everyone was new. We had to wait for our drinks a little longer than expected. Understandable after only being open for a week. Also the current beers should be on the chalk board for ordering... not what is going to be on tap in the future. Beer specials and flight specials would be nice. We ordered a pizza which was great, risotto was good, changas tasty. Burger didn't stay on the pretzel bun well. Sliders would be better to share. What a fantastic addition to the area! The food and service were beyond what I expected. We had the duck wings, two types of flat bread, fries with brisket and gravy on them!! Omg! EVERYTHING was perfect. All the entrees looked amazing and the whole table cleaned their plates. We never waited for anything, all drinks constantly filled and we just enjoyed our family and overlooking the canal on the patio. I'm not sure why you would eat anywhere else in Newark. read more

Love the look and feel of this restaurant. This area is in desperate need of an upscale eatery with good food. Unfortunately, the quality of food has gone down hill since opening. We went for the first time shortly after they opened and enjoyed the atmosphere and food. We have visited 3 times since and been extremely disappointed. Two of the three times we sent food back. The third time we took our daughter who was visiting from Columbus, and simply gave up. We left part of our dinner, paid the bill and have not returned. I usually do not write reviews. It was another lovely day trip on the motorcycle with my man winding through the drumlins of the Sodus area. Hot day, but so beautiful. A bit weary and dehydrated by the 86 degrees and full sunshine during our ride, we kept our eyes open hoping to come across a cafe or pub for a late lunch before heading home. We cruised through Newark and found this place along the canal. Easy parking and there was only one truck in the lot. We thought it might be closed. But we were going to check to be sure because...a patio in the back with umbrellas and a view of the canal...and craft beer? Exactly what we were looking for! Only one other table of patrons on the place, so we put on our masks and approached the bar (very nice, I might add) and the bartender/server (also masked) asked us to sit where we like. This place has an open, airy feel. There were no stairs to enter/exit. Wood slat floors and current hip tunes playing in the background throughout the inside and outside seating areas. We ordered 2 IPAs, fish tacos and a Caesar salad. The fish in the tacos was deep fried, crunchy and full of flavor. The tacos were topped with a crisp slaw, but really it was the "fish" that was the main feature in this dish. My Caesar consisted of whole grilled romaine, cherry tomatoes, fire grilled chicken and the best dressing I've had on a Caesar, ever (homemade?) served on the side. I secretly wanted to meet the chef....I hope you will keep him/her! Very talented! The service was fantastic. Our order was delivered quickly and accurately, and the server checked in multiple times. She was so pleasant! It was the end of a perfect afternoon. This was our first "sit down at a restaurant" experience since the pandemic began and it's exactly what we needed and hoped for! Also the duck wings, I'm a huge fan of chicken wings but they're everywhere, it's good to change it up with something different like duck wings. The filet is also excellent. This is a gorgeous restaurant in a gorgeous location on the canal serving barely average food. It's really unfortunate! We've been a couple times now and both times have been a disappointment considering the price point of the food given the lacking quality. We've tried a flatbread, the burger, charcuterie board, roasted potatoes and poutine. Every single thing lacks salt (except the charcuterie board because everything on it is from a package or jar, sliced and placed on the board). There is salt on the tables but it's in a container shaped like a light bulb with one or two small holes at the top, impossible to get any salt out. My parents ordered the apple crisp, which is made to order (nice touch) so it comes out piping hot in it's own skillet, but they were out of whipped cream (how?) and don't serve ice cream so it was near impossible to eat for the 20 minutes it took to cool down to a temperature where you wouldn't be burned. Mom's steak was served with two butters, a truffle butter and some kind of paprika butter that had absolutely no flavor but instead just the texture of paprika powder. Not that pleasant. Overall, this is the kind of place to go for a drink and a nice view. I'll only go back for food if someone asks. read more

Very hit or miss - they seem to have gotten rid of the ruder servers they had when they opened the place, but I still have to wait and wait to even be greeted for the first time when I come in, let alone being helped. This does not work when I'm there on a lunch break, and so they lose business. Almost every single time, I have no idea if I will be helped in a timely manner. If only they acknowledged my presence within ten minutes of arrival... On top of that, the waitress decides not to break my bill and just keeps several dollars as her tip. Could've at least earned that! When fortune shines upon me and I get the priveledge of eating here, the food is a nice change of pace from the family restaurants in town. Craft 120 surprises in ways Newark seldom does. Since moving to the area in the mid-70s, Newark's population declined over 25% while the poverty rate increased. Imagine finding a restaurant serving flat bread pizza, braised Brussels sprouts, salmon, mushroom risotto, hand formed buffalo burgers, house made creme brûlée, and craft beer - with local artist photography on the walls. Enter from the west parking lot directly into the dining area (to skip the pizza place.) Service prompt, attentive, and helpful. Meat cooked perfectly. Coffee tastes mediocre. We stopped in as they opened on a 40 degree day and the heat had not been turned up for guests. This was remedied quickly. The west entrance has no vestibule to slow cold (heat) entering with patrons. On a 10 or 100 degree day seating near the door might prove unusable. read more

A pleasant surprise for what we expected. The place is done up well enough to make you fear what the bill is going to be, but honestly it was very reasonable. Didn't seem any more expensive than a couple other restaurants that are nearby, but the atmosphere, selection, and service were generally better. Quality of food and drink was also better than some of the other places nearby, too. It was almost like going somewhere ritzy without having to skip the next three meals to afford it. The staff (managers) were very rude, shot my daughter and I dirty looks and started whispering as they kept glancing back at us. I have heard from others that have gone there to eat that they talk crap about their employees and customers behind their backs. I couldn't believe that business owners/employees would be like this if they wanted to run a successful business. Well I only spent about 10 minutes there and was totally appalled at their behavior.
