Such a compassionate gesture, so humanizing when I felt like a leper, I've never forgotten it. For allergy-induced coughs/hacking, hoarseness, drippy nose and other garden-variety (literally, since I now garden covered head-to-toe, even with elbow-length gardening gloves) reactions, Dr. Reiss has always helped me, always made me feel worlds better. I requested a visit to discuss my severe insomnia (maybe 2-3 hours sleep a night) and accepted an appointment 3 weeks from my call, confirmed that appointment the Fri before, and it was canceled by the dr 2 days prior. Had to wait almost 2 wks to get in. Had a good visit, ordered blood work, she said she would call me the next day. 2 days came and went. I called and left messages for her and also sent a portal message. When Margaret (triage nurse with a superiority complex) called me, she spoke to me like I was 3 and had no brain cells. When I protested being put back on a medication I hadn't taken for 3 days (didn't have anymore TO take) only for it to be titrated within 2 doses, I was told I was being defensive and she was trying to help. I told her that I was exhausted from no sleep in months at this point, frustrated at the lack of communication, and not understanding why this was being ordered when it wasn't needed. I also stated very clearly that I was NOT yelling or cursing despite how badly I wanted to because of being treated as if I didn't have a voice in my own treatment plan. She said she would talk to the dr and get back to me. Instead, she apparently told the dr I was rude to her and who knows what other lies she stated because I received a certified letter from my dr releasing me from care. The dr never attempted to reach out to me to find out what happened after years of never having an issue. NEVER GO TO THIS DR OR ESSE HEALTH HAZELWOOD!!!!

I went to this office to get all the tests and started on an allergy regimen. I really like the nurses and Dr. Tillinghast, my doctor. He's really funny and has a great personality. Usually it's pretty quick to get in to get allergy shots. The nurses who do that are friendly and the waiting room while you wait after you get the shots is nice and well stocked with decent magazines. It's always been easy for me to get an appointment on days and times that work for me, and on short notice too. Bonus for that. I always wait til the last minute! Loses a star because on more occasions than not when I see the doctor (only once a year usually), I have to wait for a looong time. Bring a book. I don't mind doing it once a year to see a good doctor. My only complaint is the wait

I am probably the exception to his patients in being relatively proactive when it comes to my healthcare and he is usually willing to place orders for whatever bloodwork and screening tests that I request when I see him to stay on top of my health. I had to push to get a CAC scan in 2019 which revealed much more coronary artery calcium than either of us would have guessed based on my other risk factors. However the medical establishment (AHA) only recognized the value of it as a tool for coronary vascular disease risk assessment within a year of my requesting the test so I certainly don't blame him for not recommending it sooner.

The closest walk in is now about `10 miles south. While they will try and accommodate you if you have a need to get into see the doctor on the same day it may not happen. My primary care doctor works for this office and he is one of 6 doctors who use this office. My doctors name is Dr. Hamm and he is the nicest doctor I have ever met. I do not get the awful feeling when the door opens and in walks Dr. Hamm. He is a total gentleman and a very gentle person. Having a good visit today and had a great consultation I now know that my life of debauchery has had little effect on me. LOL!!
