I recently had carpet installed in my upstairs and part of my downstairs. This is the second time that I have had Finishing Touch install carpet for me. I worked with Sebastien and he informed me all along the way when the carpet would be in, when the install would take place and any other thing that I had any issue with. Any concerns were taken care of right away. The carpet installers worked quickly and efficiently, and put all of the furniture back, and there was quite a bit of it, exactly where it was supposed to go without even asking me. We had a wonderful experience with Finishing Touch Floors. We bought a house that had wood floors throughout most of the downstairs and carpet upstairs. I wanted to pull out all the carpet and put in matching wood floors. I stopped by the store and talked to Josh for a long time to see if his company out in the original floors. He let me take multiple samples to try and match, it turns out the floors were custom hand stained wood and we couldn't find a perfect match. He even tracked down the developer of the house to see if we could find out more info about the existing floors. Josh stopped by the house several times to help me narrow down the best match and pick carpet for a few areas that we couldn't match. Josh was very patient, knowledgeable and went out of his way to help us out (unlike a store around the corner that refused to meet me on a weekend when I wasnt working). The installers were very professional, cleaned up thoroughly each day and had a high attention to detail (even checking every inch of the new wood floors to make sure they didn't squeak!). Shopped around various stores in OC and Bill at The Finishing Touch was the most responsive and competitive not to mention honest. We had almost the whole house redone with vinyl laminate flooring. The crew had their work cut out for them as half of house had to have ceramic tile removed and needless to say, the tile contractor had used some type of resin bonding agent so the tiles did not pop out. They had to grind down the mortar before the laminate could be laid down. The crew was great and courteous. Showed up on time and stayed late on a few days because of tiles. Never have seen such a hard working crew rarely taking a break even for lunch. I was quoted by another big flooring company that it would take 5 days and these guys did it in 4. Could have been 3 if not for the tiles. Would highly recommend going to visit this family owned business that has been around for a long time. I used this place twice. It used to be great but recently I'm out second time, the customer service was not good. There's was a part in the flooring separating and after several times of not responding, when they did we had to pay $200 to the rude worker and the fix didn't even take. Never will go back or recommend. I don't know what happened there but it's not B what it used to be. read more

Wish we could give Finishing Touch flooring in Los Alamitos more than 5 stars - our experience with everyone from Finishing Touch was wonderful. Everyone on the FT staff was very focused on making sure got what we wanted. We wanted to replicate the color of our previous carpet, in our two story home. Really appreciated Bill in the sales office recommending and working with Fabrica carpet. Was really happy with Fabrica's providing production carpet which matched the test samples they provided. Bill was very patient with a zero pressure sales approach,, I think my wife was talking to him for many months, got samples, would drop it due to other priorities and when she went back, no problem just picked up where they left off. Then the Superstars: installation crew of Victor (lead) and Javier were simply Outstanding. These guys were the absolute best any one could hope for: friendly and professional very hardworking, - they really know what they're doing. Both guys were very focused are making sure every detail on the installation was done the way my wife wanted. We were impressed at the way they carefully moved heavy furniture, their workmanship was flawless, and they did remove and replace all old tack strips as requested. The previous reviews are spot on. We hired Dave to install tiles in our hallway and dining room and then to add baseboard. For one reasonable price, Dave removed the pet urine stained carpets, treated the subfloors, and moved furniture. We didn't have to hire different contractors to take care of it; other businesses wouldn't do this especially not at Dave's price. His tile guy Robbie, who is a funny and nice guy, created a work of art on our floors and the quality of our porcelain tiles is excellent. The baseboard looks perfect; the nails were covered and all painted over professionally. With all the different workmen coming in and out, the entire job was carried out like a well choreographed ballet. When an unexpected problem surfaced, Dave was involved at every step, to ensure a quick response and satisfactory completion of the project on schedule. read more

I purchased flooring at a store for a small room and was looking for them to install it for me. I went in and an older gentleman said he was covering and didn't know the pricing too well but quoted me because the owner comes in and was more concerned about parking his bike than helping out. I called the owner back and he says the employee quoted me too low and he would call me back but never did. Clearly showed he didn't care about my business considering it was a small room. Most flooring companies build their reputation on the quality of their personnel. I dealt with one salesperson (Rex) that was professional during the initial sell cycle, but dropped the ball after he got my deposit. The sales person was reluctant to provide a receipt for my purchase and then finally provided something that was very vague that could have applied to any flooring product. The delivery of the product was late and the installation was not what I would call 1st class. I have a number of friends that were satisfied with their Finishing Touch experience. I really wanted to like these guys and use them for some upgrades after we purchased a home, but their follow up is dismal. We had them out to measure and one of them was supposed to call back with an official quote (got a rough estimate, was told they would get back to us with an exact quote...nothing). We stopped by the store and looked at wood and carpet, was offered a sample that we could pick up "in a day or so" and they never called that week, but called over two weeks later...any sign of an official quote by then? No. By then, we moved on. This was our first purchase of a home and I really wanted to use these guys, but I (mainly my wife) can't continue to follow up without getting answers (or a call or the info we needed to plan) from them. Hey, if you don't need the business, that's fine, but don't make promises and not follow through. We waited and wasted valuable time while in escrow and got nothing in return. If I could give less than a 1 star I would. Hired Josh to do all new floors in a rental. Laminate, Tile and carpet. Made arrangements weeks ago to have the job started on July 24th to get on rental market by Mid August. I even had him do the demo ahead of time. The 24th comes and they lay the laminate, then no show on Tuesday, and Wednesday and after complaining, i was told carpet and tile today, Thursday. It is 3:30 and despite being told a tile guy was on their way at 11:30, there in no tile, no carpet guy there. Just tile. They have held up my other workers from finishing the door jams and base boards and property manager just called to say they have to pull the listing. I was going to use Lowes, never had a problem with them but I decided to use a local store in the area. Bad mistake. I'm going to have to fire them. read more

I plan to use Finishing Touch in the future to refresh my 85 year old wood floors. I have complete confidence in their service and knowledge. Why? I was in a dilemma yesterday. My husband was working on a small tile job at home and needed two of the tiles cut. I went to Home Depot, no tile cutting, Granahl Lumber, no wet saw, Tile Zone...nope. Nowhere could I go to get the tile cut. I called finishing Touch Floors out of the book and first they said we have no saw so cannot help. I recently had David's crew install 1300 square feet of glue down hardwood floors in my home. They did an absolutely beautiful job! It only took them two days and they were very efficient with their time and materials. They cleaned up their work area very thoroughly at the end of each day.
