This spot is THE place for pickle ball!! There are 6 courts set up but they have the capability to have 13 depending on the need and if there are any tennis takers cause they have movable nets that can take over as needed. I went for my first time last weekend and was nervous because I'm a wicked new player but the community was beyond friendly. People swap out players and join games. Rotate around to allow folks to get in on games, move around the 6 courts. They have a court drier and someone goes out with towels to mop the court; the attention to detail is excellent. The community center nearby has bathrooms open to the public. I've been here before for various events inside the community center. Nice meeting rooms. This is a great community resource. read more

I have attended retirement parties here with live bands in "The Person Auditorium", which is the largest and most immaculate room. It accommodates any large size party, from wedding receptions to presentations. It's well equipped with a huge dance floor, lighting, awesome sound system, and a full service kitchen. The rates are reasonable with super-friendly staff. On this particular day, we came for the SF Giants World Championship Trophy Tour. All the community center staff were energetic and ready to take on a full day of unexpected visitors. They directed traffic into the parking lot smoothly and made announcements appropriately. Luckily, we arrived early enough with our seats and blankets to secure a spot near the front of the line - yay! Each announcement was made clearly advising visitors of the rules once inside the auditorium. Fans were reminded of the strict two-hour limit, as the trophies will be moving onto its next destination. This collaboration with the SF Giants organization and the community center was top-notch. Once the doors opened promptly, we were moving along quickly. Everyone was in good spirits. A small donation of $2 was requested inside the auditorium for the Junior Giants leagues of Northern California, it's all about the kids. Thank you to the City of Santa Rosa and SF Giants for bringing communities together near and far. This beats any Fanfest at AT&T Park, avoiding any possible stampede - ya feel me? Kudos to all the Bay Area fans for waking up at the crack of dawn to see the "Dynasty Tour" ~ Together We Are Giant! read more

I would have given 5 stars, 'cause it's a terrific venue. My problem is : over the last year or so, I've gone to 2 events in the evening. BOTH TIMES I drove on College right past it & ended up miles down the road .... there is NO LIGHT on the Finley sign. It's all pitch black. I've talked to others who've had that problem... My son came here for a winter camp that was sponsored by the City of Santa Rosa. The facility is large and clean. My son really enjoyed the camp, and I found the counselors to be very nice and engaging. I would not hesitate to put my kids in this program again. The community center itself appears to be well used. There is a reception desk with helpful staff. There are a lot of rooms including the big multi-purpose room the kids used for camp. I think there are senior programs running here all the time. I will keep an eye out for classes and programs here. This is a great resource for the community. read more

They have Air conditioning ( unlike the older senior center in Bennett Valley ) and heat ,lots of parking and seating in the rooms , lobby and the patio between the buildings . This review is just for the Person Senior Wing Only CONS I have heard about are 1-the AC / Heat they have guests constantly coming to the front desk to complain they are too hot or too cold .2- the patio does not have enough shade in the summer . 3- they are not able to give you printed receipts for drop in classes when you pay cash ? PROS I have heard about or seen are as follows . It's open and have lots of natural light in the building . On Monday they bake Apple Bread ( it's a company that rents the kitchen ) the smell is divine . If you pop your head in the door and want to buy a loaf and have $ cash they will sell you one Front desk staff and maintenance are super helpful and friendly all the time . They have weekly and drop in classes and you can purchase any of the regular classes and put funds on an ID card which you can scan at check in and it gives you a 50 cent discount per class . The local art. Photography exhibits on display are an added bonus . Seniors that are struggling to find extra funds may be able to get special grants from local non profits based on availability . I love that caregivers have a place to eat read and relax . There is a full Honor Code system here for their library to check out books and you can sit and work on your laptop or do a puzzle . It's good to see the city build such a beautiful facility and love that packing is never an issue . read more

This is a wonderful event and meeting center. They have larger and smaller rooms to accommodate different sized groups. I've been at meetings there with as few as 10 people, up to Levi's GranFondo with over 8,000 total (on the grounds, the largest inside room only can hold 300.). It's a great community resource. read more

My family has attended many events and classes here. I used to really enjoy the space. NOW I feel that access is several restricted to the public. I really DONT appreciate the employee in the Senior Center wing who refused to let me use the restroom because "the homeless go in there and wash up". REALLY?? You mean that a giant, unused space that is wasted should be a horrible place for a "homeless person" to wash up? The policy that it is better to allow homeless people to be dirty and suffered than to make use of UNUSED facilities is ridiculous. I'm actually regretting the money my family has spent to attend classes at this facility. It made me REALLY reconsider how my money is spent. Shame on you! read more

The Finley Community Center is the perfect venue for the Sonoma County VegFest http://www.socovegfest.org/ They had their main talks in the Person Center, while the Cypress Room had the cooking demos with folks like Chef Ramses Bravo. Great accommodations for the various vendors- from Sebastopol-based Muir's Tea Room to Jennifer Montero's Energy Medicine Services, offering planetary triangles, Nectar of the Sphinx, and Double Chakra Cleansing. They also had Seed on the Go, the vegan food truck run by actress Jessica Chastain's mother. The Finley Center luckily has overflow parking that has a signal for traffic control. The College Ave lot can get crowded! If it hadn't been for the overflow lot, I would've skipped the event altogether. It has a user-friendly layout, is clean, has plenty of restrooms&places to eat. I've been attending dances on Friday afternoons at the Finley Community Center for years, and it has been great. The staff are quite courteous and helpful. Recently, however, the dance floor has proven difficult to dance on because of the sticky nature of the floor. Half the time I attend the floor seems great, but the other half of the time it is virtually "undanceable." My partner and I have left a number of times early after paying for the dance. Henceforth, we've decided to examine the floor before paying. Unfortunately when colleagues of mine spoke to the general manager about this problem, they felt ignored as if it was not a lack of proper cleaning. It is a lack of proper cleaning because when the floor is cleaned properly, it is fantastic. In general the staff at the center are great, very considerate and helpful. I hope someone listens to what I am saying. Thank you. read more

Last night 2/27/16 we attended the crab feed at the finely center spent $250, this was a very unorganized event. The lady at that check in table was not friendly and never mentioned our party of 5 had our spot reserved kinda just threw us to the dogs! Then we sit in a area that looks open for 5 I get up to get drinks for my family and the nice lady at the counter asked me do you have your Blue drinks ticket ? I say no I wasn't aware needing tickets, she mention the persons at the check in table who where suppose to of given of them to you . So I go back to the check in table and ask them for my drink tickets! We finally get our drinks , the salad is already on the tables so we start serving our salad on to our plates I look up across the table and see that our family name with the number 5 on it and that's where we are suppose to be seated . Thanks ! the salad oh the salad I think they made it last week it's was horrible all brown old and just awful, the pasta had no favor they ran out of crab by 7:30 and this was suppose to end at 9pm. Not happy never again will I go to a crab feed there . I want my money back not worth $50 per person at all read more

I love that they have the family package for swimming. My kids love coming here. If I remember right the package is around 100 for family of four for six months period. It is getting hot. I am gonna sign up for that package again this year. If your kids love swimming, you should check out about their family package. Love love love read more
