I go to the Braker Lane location in Austin. Not only do I get a great haircut, but it's like a mini spa day for your head if you get the Premier Haircut Package (and time allows)! Miranda T. is fantastic and was super patient with me and communicative while I figured out what I wanted (my mom is a hairdresser but I had never been to a barber before and didn't know all the guards and terminology). Answered my goofy questions told me what I needed to communicate to get it done the way I like the next time. Helped me choose a product after I gave her a slew of adjectives and likes/dislikes. Today was the grand opening of this Finley's Barbershop location on W. Braker Lane & normally I do not take my sons to get their haircuts this is usually left up to my hubby BUT I have to say I was really excited to check out Finley's Barbershop since I had never been to an upscale barber shop before & was really curious to see all the services offered AND Since it was the grand opening Finley's was offering free haircuts :-) so I thought perfect opportunity to bring my son & get to check it out. The location itself is very cool & had 8 barber chairs & there were both men & women barbers. There was a small lounge area towards the back which had a bench for seating, 2 small round tables & small refrigerator that had drinks for free..sodas, water, even beer :-)...which was a plus. The front desk staff , the barbers & the manger were very nice & welcoming :-)...BUT I do have to note the owner of Finley's was there and had 2 friends of his there who he sat w/ in the small lounge area where the rest of us customers were waiting at & not once did he speak to me nor did I see him speak to any of his other customers welcoming them to Finley's which I thought was kinda rude especially since this was the 1st day of this location being open & hello we are potential returning customers! Ok so now let's get to the most important part..my sons haircut...the haircut given to my son was just ok at best...his edge up was not good at all & didn't have any sharp lines...to put it bluntly my sons edge-up was jacked up. After his haircut he was given a massage w/ this massage thing & it did look very relaxing but not sure how much my 10 yr could appreciate that & for that part of the experience I did want to push my son out of the chair & get in myself :-). To sum it up & in my sons own words after his haircut he tells me "they tried to trick me w/ the free sprite, the towel on my face, the shampoo, & the massage but my haircut is ugly & horrible" ...well at least his hair grows back fast. I really do wish I could have given better feedback but sadly it is what it is. read more

I went here yesterday for a simple fade. My barber was Lilly (Liliana?), and I must say that she did a pretty awful job. She was neither friendly nor welcoming. Looking back, I don't even think I got a 'Hi'. She spoke 2 words during the entire cut. I'm not one for barbers that talk too much, but my 30 minutes with her were just awkward. As she's trying to blend my fade, she keeps scraping against my scalp. I seriously thought the side of my head was going to be red afterwards. Lastly, she asked if I wanted my hair shampooed. I asked if it was extra and she replied, "no". Uhh... of course I want it shampooed then. She made it seem like she just didn't want to do it. I called Finley's this morning to tell them of my experience, and the receptionist apologized and offer to get the manager involved. She mentioned offering a future discount, but I said no thanks. Why? Because I happened to swing by the Finley's on Lamar to get it fixed, and Angel there did an exceptional job (feel free to read my review on him) and won my future business. So other than the money I tipped Lilly, I guess I really didn't lose much because at least now I have found somebody who can reliably cut my hair. read more

Would not recommend this shop to anyone. My husband just got home and I feel like I could've done a better job than what he came home with. Apparently this is what a "fade" looks like. What a shame to have wasted $40 on this. His barber did not even give him a mirror to see the back of his cut...and to be honest I can see why. read more

Free clean-ups in between cuts. Love that I can make an appointment a few weeks in advance (note: call to make an appointment, if you do it online you have to enter a credit card number). Shop is clean with a waiting room that includes cold water, beer, and coffee. Well worth the $35 for a men's cut. read more

One of the worst haircuts I got by far! The barber couldn't do a fade and my hair length on the left side is way longer than the right and that wasn't by choice! They didn't even listen to instructions. I was asked for a square/circle cut on my neck, to which I responded "fade it out". Nope, I got a circle. The barber clearly lacked passion and would ask if I wanted to be shampooed/neck massaged/... etc in a way that sounded like they didn't wanna do it. Good barbers usually just go for it unless the customer objects. This was a total disaster and definitely not worth the 40$ price. I had to get home and cut some hair to have it look somewhat decent. I have had a great haircut before by finley's but this time around it managed to be one of the worst I've had. I'm very disappointed, I'll probably have to look elsewhere next time. read more

I rarely leave a review anyplace. But this is a 1-star that's generous at that. Hair cutter didn't understand a dead simple cut, even though I shared a photo. When I asked for one spot shorter she cut the whole head shorter. Lotsa attitude, records of my prior cut mislaid. I was in the store after I tried to reschedule my appointment, but that didn't work -- phone wasn't answered at 7 pm. While checking out at this Braker store, every call that came in interrupts your check out. Cross talk on scheduling between the manager and the cutter postponed the start of my cut. Shoddy all around for a service you can get at Floyd's 99 for less. Hope for better things soon there, but this is store manager+Finley's thing. Never again for me. read more

First time walkin to get my beard trimmed, they gave me appointment right away in 30 min. Mina did pretty awesome job. Def going back with her again. Just had my first Finley's experience and I'm definitely impressed. Am I did a fantastic cut and was easy to communicate with as far as what I was looking for. I'm picky but she killed it. The shop is cute, classic barber shop style. They do a massage and straight razor neck shave with the regular men's cut. I paid a little more than I'm used but I got what I paid for. Due to time limits the haircut I really wanted would be more expensive than the already agreed on price but I thoroughly enjoyed my haircut experience. The haircut and shampoo were performed but again due to time I was not able to receive the massage portion of the haircut. My Barber was able to give me a haircut similar enough to the one that I wanted and was very professional. The socia distancing/CoViD rules were in place and I never felt at risk of exposure.
