After moving to Washington from Hawaii a couple years ago, I knew I was going to have to select a dentist and stressed over how I would be able to find the right one. After doing a bunch of research, it took me awhile to get up the nerve to call for an appointment. The day came for my first appointment at Cedar View Dental with Dr. Jonnes, and as soon as I walked in, I immediately felt at ease. That day they took X-rays and Dr. Jonnes went over options and a plan for future care and appointments. Second appointment was for teeth cleaning and the hygienist was fantastic. Third and most recent appointment was the first big test - fillings. I was scared and nervous, but all that changed within a few minutes. I felt no discomfort whatsoever! In a few days I'll be going back for additional treatment and I'm good with that. In my opinion, Dr. Jonnes and his staff practice the highest standards of professionalism and caring. There is no BETTER dentist that Dr. Jonnes, and his staff are EXCEPTIONAL people. Highly skilled, professional, reasonable! prices and believe me, I thoroughly checked prices, having a family friend as a dentist in another State. When I described what I have had happen, cavities, crowns, what I paid, what I learned. The response by my dentist specialist friend was, "What you have there is the 1 per center in our profession, and believe me, I know dentists. It has been my field for 50 plus years". And the staff goes the extra miles to keep you informed about expenses, appointments, etc. When I walk into their office (thinking of my double degrees, one in geology), I think if these people were minerals, they'd be emeralds. Be prepared for a long story, but know it's because I have good reasoning to love and appreciate Cedar View Dental. From my first dental appointment as a toddler through my teens and early twenties, I had the same dentist and orthodontist, Dr. Robison. His staff remained basically the same in twenty years, and they were always warm and friendly. They treated me and my family like their family. When Dr. Robison had to stop practicing, I was devastated. In the few cases I had to visit other dentists, whether it had to do with cost or insurance, it was never a good experience. My family soon realized paying more money to stay with Dr. Robison was worth it. So out of fear of bad experiences, it took me a few years after he stopped practicing before I came around to finding a new one. Unfortunately, my first dentist recommendation turned out to be awful. It took me just three visits, one of which included two botched impressions (having that stuff slide down your throat is not pleasant!), and having one of the fillings they gave me break off, that I decided I needed to stop giving them any more money. I had read good reviews about Cedar View Dental and Dr. Perkyl in the past, but my employer at the time didn't provide the right insurance. This time I had new insurance that was accepted there, so I decided to call them to get my tooth re-filled. When I arrived, I found out that Dr. Perkyl was retiring and that Dr. Jonnes would be my provider. I hadn't heard anything about Dr. Jonnes up until that point, so I was nervous, but I went through the appointment anyway. Though my first experience with Cedar View Dental was getting a cavity re-filled, it was still pleasant. It prompted me to schedule my first cleaning, and then the rest of the care I needed after. I had to visit Cedar View Dental 8 months out of the last 12, but it wasn't so bad knowing I was being taken care of the right way and I was always comfortable. My teeth are finally getting back in shape and I have Dr. Jonnes and the staff to thank. Gina is my hygienist and she's AMAZING, with a ton of knowledge. She is gentle with my teeth and so friendly. The dental assistants Holly and Christy are both just as gentle and caring. When the other cavity done by that awful dentist fell out most recently, they got me in right away and Chantha (who is also wonderful!) helped me out. I just can't say enough good things about them all. I feel like a human being rather than another mouth to tear apart. They also always offer encouraging words while you're stuck in the chair and check in with you consistently to make sure you're doing alright. And even though I originally was nervous to have a younger and newer dentist, Dr. Jonnes is awesome and does great work. Everyone seems to have a bit of perfectionist in them and I'm not complaining. From the moment I step in and I'm greeted by Selena and Laura, to setting up with Gina and being seen by Dr. Jonnes, I get the same feeling of warmth, friendliness, and comfort that I had with my dentist growing up, and that's worth everything to me. I tell anyone I can that they should be coming here, including my parents who are stuck with a sub-par dentist. I'm from California originally and had to switch dentists when I moved up here. Today was my first visit at Cedar View Dental, and I can safely say it was the best dental experience I have ever had. The entire staff is friendly, professional, and comforting. They answered all of my questions with a smile and made me feel relaxed (which is a big deal for me because I deal with anxiety). My husband had severe anxiety due to a bad experience with a previous dentist and hadn't been in over 10 years. For me, I was pregnant when the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown began and was nervous about going to the dentist (but regular dental care during pregnancy is very important). I'm not in love with going to the DDS but when I get there I'm always greeted with a smile, remembered by name and they go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable! I just had two fillings filled and it was a painless seamless process. Nothing about the procedure caused me any discomfort at all. Nothing. This is a GREAT office. I had a filling done by Dr. Jonnes and I could not believe how easy and smooth it went. I have never had an anesthetic injection where I didn't feel a thing (not even a pinch)...My tooth was numb without even feeling numb! (This has always been a trouble spot for me as I have a tendency to be very sensitive)...Not a problem for this Dr....I appreciate my day not being ruined with injection soreness and lingering numbness. Additionally, My appointment went by really fast. They were on time, and Dr. Jonnes is precise and pays fastidious attention to detail. This gives me great confidence, especially since I am normally a patient who has dental anxiety. I like knowing that my teeth are being taken care of by a team that allows me to be me (fears and all) and appreciates my time being valuable without making me feel rushed. I have been to many dental offices over the past 40 years and I have to say that Cedar View Dental is by far the best, in all areas. Dr. Jonnes is extremely knowledgeable and thorough, and he actually takes the time to explain what he is doing and why. He's personable, good-natured, and actually has a sense of humor. I've had dentists in the past who have hardly said a word to me, let alone explain what they are doing. They've talked to the hygienist or assistant almost as if I wasn't even there. That's not the case with Dr. Jonnes. He makes you feel like the most important person in the room. Speaking of being personable and talented, my hygienist, Chantha, is the best. While I'm sure the other hygienist here is great as well, I insist on having Chantha whenever I go. Besides being an obviously talented hygienist with a very gentle touch, she is extremely warm and friendly. She has a way of making you feel special, rather than like you are just another body in her chair. Like many people, I have never been a big fan of going to the dentist. Now I actually look forward to seeing Chantha. Besides Dr. Jonnes and Chantha, I want to mention the receptionist, Selena. I don't think I've ever even known the name of a receptionist at dental offices I've gone to over the years. I know Selena's because she's so welcoming, friendly, and funny.
