One of the best burgers I've had in years, perfectly put together and cooked. Food here is all fresh and made in house, if you like sweet potato fries these are the best, hand cut, not frozen from a bag. This is a neighborhood watering hole since 1912 and the inside shows the bumps and bruises that create the character of this bar. Drinks are poured with a heavy hand and are priced right. My wife and I came in here a couple of weeks ago, and I ended up winning a free 1890 burger because of a promotion they were running for its anniversary. The burger was delicious. I had eaten most of it before finding out about the promotion, so I know that the fact it was free isn't swaying my opinion on it. Right now during the Christmas season, they are decorated with wreaths and right outside is Wall Street (the closed off road with the large decorated tree, Christmas music, Santa) What we ate: Guinness Pot Roast (Outstanding comfort dish, so tender, flavorful) Finnegan Burger (Juicy, thick, cooked perfectly) Buttermilk Crispy Chicken Sandwich (Crispy, seasoned nicely, chicken cooked just right) This is a small Irish pub, there's tables(small and large), and a bar to sit at as well. They have a large assortment of beers (we had Stella and Corona), and cocktails(I had the Hot Chocolate Martini, tasted like an adult Yoohoo). Four and 1/2 stars actually Nice pub experience today with my daughter and granddaughter. We came at 1:45 on a Sunday. We asked for an inside table. All the tables looking out at the lake were taken or reserved. The chairs at our high top table were padded and comfortable. The menu has a variety of tempting choices including sandwiches, soups, dinners, and pizzas. Some of them we recognized as featured at Carney's, the owners prior restaurant. (I did think briefly about the Clam Casino Pizza that was offered by Villago.) Beverage choices and specials are also extensive. There is a nice bar in the back of the restaurant. Stephanie, an owner, took our order. She was friendly and professional. We ordered the homemade house chips with dip to start. Granddaughter loved the bottle or orange crème soda. Service was speedy which was appreciated since we were hungry. The tables on the patio and inside filled almost to capacity with happy customers in the hour we were there. We ordered two Georgian Reubens--the seedless rye was toasted perfectly and the Turkey, slaw, and cheese were melted together. Delicious! Even the fat pickle slices were tasty. The fries were very good, salty and crisp. But the Mac salad side was not what we expected or wanted. It was smothered in so much Mayo that the pasta was practically unseen. It had a dominant Mayo taste with just a tiny amount of diced celery thrown it. My granddaughter aged eight wanted a Quesadilla with just chicken and cheese. She loved it and took half home. It was filled nicely and prepared as requested. Starting at 2:00, the talented Dos Amigos with nice vocals played a fun medley of old favorites. They were not so loud that you could not carry on a conversation. As advertised, they play on Fridays and on Sundays 2 to 5. read more

Staff has made it apparent they switched from a grill to a flat top. What was once the best burger in the village is arguably not even mid tier anymore. I hear the cries while I drink my beer that they're short handed on the floor and in the kitchen and I can see a handful of the staff I used to come see has quit. Finnegans is in a downward spiral. This was a stop as part of Huntington's Food Done it? Mystery tour. Included in the tour was a choice of crispy chicken sandwich, cheeseburger or hamburger. Each choice came with fries and onion rings. I went with the crispy chicken sandwich. It was very yummy. The batter was delish. There was also bacon on it. The bacon had great flavor. Fries seemed to lack seasoning. Very bland. Onion rings were just okay. My friends who were on the tour with me got burgers. They enjoyed them. Service was good. However, a lot of the beers that was listed as available....weren't available. They were out of a lot of beers that they were advertising. read more

This place is a hidden gem! Such a throw back in time, but still modern in exceptional service, food and cocktails! Dan the bartender and manager is fabulous at recommending and mixing satisfying cocktails and I'm so grateful how rigorously he upholds Covid safety! Everything is immaculate, distancing and masks are enforced and the outdoor patio is a quaint little refuge from the hustle and bustle of this crazy new world. The tater tots and burgers are amazing. I just wanted to review a specific item, the bourbon-glazed (whiskey-glazed?) burger. It has great flavor, like they're using legit ground beef, not some throwaway patty. I get it with bacon, worth it. I also enjoy the pretzel roll. I will say I find the tater tots, which Finnegan's promotes, are too soggy. They're all right - I've had better. That burger though, it's delicious. This is a Lessing's joint, so don't expect any deals. As with most of them, the food is good, but the price point is just above what it should be. I know, it's a pandemic, take it easy - but this was true of Lessing's restaurants *before* covid. Anyway, if you're wondering how a slightly divey place like Finnegan's can survive in Huntington, once you eat here you'll see how. read more

I had the best experience here! I've been here many times, but this was different. My dad, who has pain and limited mobility, wanted to go to Radio Radio, but the apparaent owner or shift manager had put signs in the window there and at Vauxhall saying opening would be delayed. When asked, he yelled that hed didn't know when they'd be open. We bagged that. But there was Finnegan's, complete with a parking space right behind it. We went in - it was warm, clean, and inviting. A few regulars were at the bar watching soccer, a couple was having dinner, and we grabbed a table. The menu is a bit pricey, but we were cold and hungry and all the choices looked good. We both opted for Shepherd's Pie. They were at our table in no time - service was excellent - and they were delicious. The mincemeat was lovely, the mash was made of red potatoes, and the gravy was very rich, with layers of flavors. It was the comfort food we needed. I've wanted to return for another every day. It was the very high end of pub food, worth the $16. Knowing that their tiny kitchen can turn out food like that is information I'll tuck away for another day...and a pub food jones. read more

Finnegan's is a pleasant surprise in terms of food quality and quantity. This area is pretty dense when it comes to places to eat so you're not going to last if you're not good. We had a party of three looking to grab a quick dinner on a Saturday night. This place isn't big so it could have been a non-starter but we were seated pretty quickly. Two of us got burgers and each one was messy as hell but pretty remarkably good. Two of us had appetizers including a Caesar salad and bacon wrapped shrimp which came with a great dipping sauce. I asked for my burger well done which they pulled off to perfection. They come with tater tots which is a nice changeup from fries (which are available as well). My only issue with Finnegan's came to the cost. Our end bill for two Diet Cokes, two appetizers and three entrees with zero alcohol was about $88 without the tip. That gets pretty steep for a pub tab with zero booze and only two sodas. Forgiving them that (we did have two apps so that brings us up to at least $80), the food here is a notch or two above what you might be expecting to find in a pub. Someone thoughts about these burgers and didn't just throw meat in a pan and on a bun. I got an Everything Bagel seasoned bun which was less thrilling than I expected. My son got a pretzel bun which he thoroughly enjoyed. I'd come here again just knowing that I'm looking at a minimum of $25 bucks a head or more if you're drinking. Stellar food though. I have been coming to Finnegan's for the last few months, but I feel like i have been going there for years. From the first day I walked in I felt comfortable and knew this was the perfect place for me. The staff, especially Tom, Mike, and Caroline were incredible and so welcoming. The chef is incredible as well. His food is amazing! I look forward to stopping in on my lunch break everyday. There is nothing I would change at all. I look forward to the food, seeing Tom, Mike, and Caroline. French fries and quesadillas are my favorite, but everything is delicious. Typical American bar, small in size but homey and the crowd is good. Really good wings which I will be coming back for again. The burger is also very good, you have a choice of up to 10 toppings to put on your burger. I would think that the beer selection would be bigger but I cant win them all. read more

OMG THE BURGERS! Chargrilled, great flavour, juicy bits of meat, and they are a fair size. I'd definitely go back here for the burger. Ok, I debated a long time here between 4-5 and wish I could give it a 4.5. The fries were ...ok. I mean, considering the outstanding nature of the beef burger, I would have expected better fries. They were good, but average. The coleslaw was a nice side though, not too sweet, not too cloying or creamy. A nice crunchy bite to go with the burger. I also like that you have an option of a few sides when you go, and that you can have the burger on salad instead of a bun....actually, I think I just convinced myself into a 5 stars. This is also because I'm comparing it to my experiences at Zinburger, who focus on toppings and not quality of burger. Great Pub!! On a miserable rainy Monday my wife and I were tired, cold and hungry near Huntington. I went to High School in Huntington and lived in the Station for a year back in'83 but I haven't been in Finnegan's in 30 years! Went in at 2PM and the place was empty save the Bartender and one guy at the bar. Was about to leave when a big friendly voice bellowed"beer and a bite" and I said "yeah" ! " Sit down here" he said. Well a great burger and a bowl of chili with some cold tap beers and I had gone into a time machine! I felt like a regular, the place began to fill up for happy hour and Tommy the bartender introduced us to every one who came in including his brother Charley who promptly bought a round of drinks. This pub/restaurant was established in 1912. It is a must to visit. Lots of history with excellent food and drinks. You can also eat on the outside patio. Everyone is very friendly here. You don't need to be a local to feel at home. My husband and I recently had the baked chopped clams with bacon. We ordered them well done. Perfect! Nice, welcoming pub in Huntington! I visited Finnegan's for lunch. I tried the "Tacho's Ultimate Nachos" from their appetizer menu. It was a large portion and was topped with all the essentials. I like that it had chili mixed in; it was different than traditional nachos. My friend ordered the "Finnegan's Burger" which he enjoyed a lot! The sweet potato fries were wonderful!!! I had the "Buttermilk Crispy Chicken Sandwich" with a side of onion rings. The chicken was nicely fried and topped with cheddar, bacon, onions and tomatoes. Tommy was wonderful and endearing. I recently visited Finnegan's with a couple of friends a few weeks ago after they raved about the drinks and stellar experience. Unfortunately this was a horrible first experience for me and my friends, so we will not be back. I reached out to the manager and PSA regarding this and have not heard back, which makes me believe they do NOT care about customer satisfaction. My friends and I were finishing up dinner and heard live music so we sat outside for a quick drink before parting ways to go home. The courtyard was empty at the time we arrived, but within minutes it filled up with a very young, out of control / drunk crowd. It was barely 10pm when they decided to light joints. I asked them to take it outside the premise, but they decided to put it out. Being someone who survived oral cancer, I cannot be around anything lit, including illegal drugs. I complained to the PSA security and he laughed at me, allowed them to continuing smoking marijuana and participate in OTHER illegal drugs. I couldn't believe that this is how PSA and Finnegan's conducts safety and security. Before this incident, my friends attended Finnegan's weekly and now, I can say we will not be back. read more

I came in here to have a drink with my boyfriend. The bartender Tom was working. He was such a sweet person. They have many televisions in this place. Also very cute tables for dinner. The food and menu looked tasty but I only came for a drink. It seemed that a lot of local mid 50s people come here for dinner. Which is nice. St Patty's Day 2017 ! A Dear Irish friend had said to me once.. Jimmy, You can't drink All DAY...unless you start early! I chose Finnegan's bar, of course to start up our Huntington St Patrick's Day Bar experience. Great choice. When you think of Irish pubs in Huntington you immediately think of Finnegans and so did everyone else. I felt felt a little funny going into a bar so early in the day ,but when we walked into Finnegans and opened the door, the place exploded loud and Irish proud it was so packed and so loud with Everything Green. What a great crowd. There were hundreds of people here already at 1pm. Can you say Irish coffee? The music was all Irish and there wasn't a seat to be had in the place, and none at the bar. The atmosphere was just so invigorating and wonderful as we walked inside Finnegans. You had to picture this place, it was Rockin and rolling and packed out the door. Incredibly ! as we walked in a table got up and left . WOW ! the seat was even warm still, I felt like it was meant to be that we were here. I ordered everything in the house DAMN, I was hungry we had three Shots of Jameson and beers to wash them down. We were there over 2 hours and got to know everyone by name. Everyone in town was here. It was a great Saint Patrick's Day experience. I ordered the shepherd's pie. The Irish lamb Stew In the corned beef sandwich with potato chips. I've lived here for several years and finally got to Finnegans--nice place on a Saturday afternoon--they seem to have a regular crowd at the bar. Food was on the whole, good--appetizers were MUCH better than dessert. The pretzels with cheese sauce is an option that I will return to. Burger was nicely cooked--sheperd's pie was just what was needed on a cold day. Waitress was attentive. Yes, prices were a little high but I'm finding that in ANY restaurant lately. Needing a place to cool off and have a beer while waiting on the mad Russian and another friend, Yelp directed us to a nice little bar on Wall Street where we could spend a little time and whet our whistles. Although they were out of the two beers I would prefer, I settled on an anchor steam ale and bellied up to the bar for some good conversation with a friend and some joke telling with the other patrons. The staff was quick to offer service and was friendly. The tin ceiling and walls, along with the long wooden bar was great and reminded me of a time when a bar didn't rely on being pretentious to serve as a good watering hole. We spent a fair amount of time here having a some great laughs and equally good service and beer.
