Sizable piece of fish (haddock), nice and crisp, with a ton of chips and lots of sauces (spicy mustard, vinegar, etc). Maybe not my favorite fish and chips ever, but it hit the spot. Would come back here in a heartbeat, especially where I could relax and drink a bit more. Completely understand why they are recognized as a top bar in the US.

Don't disappear, please don't! The pub pulls a fantastic pint of Guinness, likely because the keg is directly under the bar and the beer travels very little distance into your glass. It's really amazing how wonderful and different the Guinness is when it's fresh and poured correctly. The bartender when we visited was very generous with information about the area and entertained us with stories and chit-chat about local events and the economy. These are the moments you remember from a trip somewhere: a quality drink, a quiet bar wrought with history, a friendly local shooting the breeze. Simple connections and simple pleasures in life that sometimes get lost in the shuffle of busy days. The pub has done quite a bit to make itself marketable to football fans, with a large collection of team scarves and paraphernalia draped over the walls. Unfortunately I was not able to stay long enough to catch the vibe in there during a match. In short, a lovely stop, and probably the most worthwhile of them, during our stay in Westport.

The Honey didn't have much of a presence either visually or flavor-wise. More was needed to balance the salt from the Montreal Seasoning and to justify the Honey in the name. I tried both the Blue Cheese and the Ranch. I'd recommend the Blue Cheese. I'll definitely return to try more wing flavors. I also ordered a crock of chili, which was full of ground beef and topped with melted cheddar and chopped red onions. The chili was solid. Imagine it's 8:30pm and your at work and you have been pacing around all night checking your watch. Finally you can't take it anymore and you call your boss to go out because you can't wait till midnight to go out to a bar where everybody knows your name. That's the shamrock effect. True story as I'm the boss who is writing the review because my worker has been useless lately because he loves this bar so much. Been in the Huntington community for years never knew it was a restaurant too. Recently went there with my family! and it was one of the best dining experiences i ever had, from food to service. The owner & his son came over Frequently to make sure our experience was great. I had the Pot Roast, My wife had a Burger. Both were exceptionally great!! and Priceed very genourously!! to keep up with todays economy. Thank you Shamrocks.. you made us feel like home.. especially the food. I hadn't been here in years and was so happy to return and see some familiar faces, both customers and employees. Just like coming home. The service was excellent and the vibe was welcoming and cozy. My companion had the Short Rib Wellington and I had the turkey club, and it was clear that it was made with fresh roasted turkey. Both meals were excellent and we both enjoyed the best Irish Coffees that we had ever had. Great menu with a refreshing lack of hot dogs. I cannot wait to come back. Cheers! read more

We found this wonderful gem during the summer. Sitting outside in the garden was so nice. Now this is our go to winter place. Comfort food is delicious, atmosphere is warm and cozy and Moscow mules are perfect. Try the shamrock any time of year. Highly recommend. read more

You can always find the bartender Sean there on a Friday night and he'll make you feel like a regularly by remembering what you drink. The entire bar staff is solid, and they're quick and efficient even when they may be a person down. If you're looking for something fancy, this is definitely not the place for you, but if you're looking for a small, intimate dive bar with good food, this is it. The only downside is since the bar is small, the bathroom situation is rough. There's only one stall in the women's room, so if it's busy, be prepared to wait. And they could use a bit more variety when it comes to beer on tap.
