What a fabulous addition to Molalla's eating-out choices! I've been here several times before today and each time the food has been excellent. Flavorful and delicious, Fire Foods delivers the best in Asian food here in Molalla. I haven't had their burgers yet but after reading the reviews here, I'm thinking I need to try one! In any event, with the cold grey day we are having today, a bowl of hot ramen soup was the perfect thing to send the overcast blues flying out the window. Today, I had the Veggie Ramen Soup with shrimp & egg along with a cup of jasmine flower tea. The bowl of soup was so big I had to ask for a container to take home what I couldn't eat at lunch. With big huge shrimps and a perfectly poached egg, the noodles and veggies (broccoli, cabbage, bean sprouts, carrots, onions, bok choy) hit the spot. The broth was delicious with the perfect amount of spiciness - my lips were tingling with the heat! (Tip: I asked for a "1" on the spiciness chart and it was spicy. I think it might have actually been a "2" because it was spicy! I like my food spicy but if you don't, maybe ask for a "0".) Ordering is accomplished at the counter, which is on the left when you enter the front door. When I said I needed some soup for a chilly day, the man who took my order suggested the Veggie Ramen. He then asked if I wanted to add anything to it and I requested chicken, although I got those huge beautiful shrimp. (I'll be asking for those shrimp from now on!) Prices are comparable to or less than any other place these days - veggie ramen soup was $12 and the pot of tea that I got at least 3 mugfuls out of was $2.50. Add-ons to the soup like chicken, beef or shrimp are an additional couple of bucks. All decked out for the holidays, my favorite decoration was the Grinch Christmas Tree! Fun and festive! I'll be going back soon - maybe to try a burger but I love their Asian food so it might be hard to choose. read more

A delight to find locally made Asian fusion! The Gyoza are fantastic, and don't skip the crab puffs Making our way through the menu, so far everything is very good. Love that they have mild options, but if you like heat that doesn't sacrifice flavor, these guys can give the most serious "chilihead" a run for their money! Don't underestimate the humble establishment and its basic online presence, this place is serving really good eats with its own fresh twist. And good news, while you order the Level 5 spicy Pad Thai, your less adventurous companions can get a gourmet smashburger, battered chicken strips or even a Texas grilled cheese. We stopped for dinner after finding the restaurant on yelp. We ordered the Pad Thai with shrimp, yakisoba with chicken, a triple smashburger and an order of Parmesan fries. The pad Thai had great flavor and wasn't too spicy. I really liked that you could pick your spice level. The yakisoba had good flavor and the bun on the smash burger was light. I don't normally write review updates this soon, but after several follow-up visits to Fire Foods, I think this is my new fav in Molalla! Since my last review, they have made it all ordered at the counter, which saves confusion -- but don't let ordering at the counter fool you into thinking that tipping is unwarranted... because the service is outstanding, and always friendly. I even witnessed one of the servers carry a to-go order out for an elderly gentleman, and was going to open the car door for him, but he beat her to it. Best customer service of any restaurant in town. My go-to is still the Okie Burger, but on my last visit, I tried the Crispy Chicken Fried Rice -- and I was very pleased. The chicken fillet was thin, but perfectly cooked, with a nice, crisp, delicious coating -- I loved the textural contrast of the crisp chicken and the fluffy fried rice. The fried rice was excellent on its own, but the crispy chicken just took it to a whole 'nutha level. Such a welcome addition to the Molalla food scene! read more

Tried out Fire Foods today and will definitely be back! Our server Julie was super friendly and helpful and the restaurant was very clean. We ended up getting a couple smash burgers and the ground pork and basil stir fry. The burgers were perfectly seasoned and the perfect ratio of toppings to burger. The homemade sauce is delicious! The stir fry was also excellent. I loved that they fried the basil crisp while the meat and veggies had a little bit of sauce to drizzle over the rice. We like spicy but I thought it was really smart how they had a visual aid for how much Thai chilies are in each spice level. We will definitely be back to try more on the menu! read more

Yes, you can get more authentic food in downtown Portland, but when you want something local it hits the spot. Sometimes you just don't want bar food. This was the answer to that. The second time my wife and I went to Fire Foods we wanted to try the burgers. We went simple with the Single Smashburger and it tasted great! It was served on a soft brioche bun, with a perfectly cooked burger patty, American cheese, grilled onions, pickles, lettuce, raw onion, burger sauce, and no tomato on mine. This was a tasty burger! Looking forward to trying the Okie Onion Smashburger next time. This place is certainly cleaner than the previous tenant and the service here has always been really wonderful. I was pleasantly surprised by Molalla's newest addition. The food was delicious and the service was over the top! The owners were so friendly. The part that really set my experience over the top was that a couple minutes after they brought me my Pad Thai the owner came out and apologized because the cook realized they forgot to put the peanuts on and she brought me some to sprinkle on top. I honestly wouldn't have even noticed (though it did make the dish that much better with them) but the thing that hit home for me was the attention to detail and quality. The cook really has to care to even think about the minor oversight and they had the humility to make it right. We will definitely be back to try the other half of the menu. I wasn't even in the mood for a burger (extremely rare for me) but when I saw someone was making an Oklahoma style smashed onion burgers, I had to try it. I've had this style at Town Topic in Kansas City and at the three original temples of this style burger in El Reno, OK, Sid's, Robert's and Johnnie's. My expectations were high and Fire Foods delivered. I asked them to add extra onions just to be sure but the onions came out just right and the meat was perfectly crispy and juicy. My wife (a burger connoisseur like me) had the double smashed cheeseburger and loved it. Our hats off to the chef for trying something he saw on Food Network and nailing it! A shout-out to Fire Foods for dealing with a mistake in the best way possible. I ordered some food to-go on a Saturday evening. They were *slammed* - all their tables were full and there were a few to-go orders waiting for pickup. Got my order, got home... and part of our order was missing. Went to call them, and discovered they'd been calling me (phone was on DND - facepalm!) to let me know they'd realized their mistake. They immediately offered to comp me for the food, whether I came back for it or not. I told them I'd come back to pick it up. When I got there, they again offered to comp me. I declined. They then offered to add a couple of orders of appetizers, which I accepted. The whole time they were genuinely apologizing - no excuses, no defending themselves, just "we screwed up - how can we make it right?" Mistakes happen. I've had stuff missing from to-go orders before. This is the first time the restaurant called me before I even noticed the problem. That plus their honest regret and how they made sure I was a satisfied customer gives them five stars. They're doing customer service right. read more
