Tried Tammy D's Cafe and Bakery in Molalla and honestly the biggest issue was the oil they use. Everything had that same smell and taste from the oil, like that cheap yellow oil that just makes the food smell off. It kind of ruins the whole experience because even if the food itself might be okay, that oil overpowers everything. It also didn't sit right after eating, just felt heavy and not good. That was the main thing that stood out the most. I really think if they switched the oil they use, it would make a huge difference. read more

This is our first time at Tammy Ds. We love these local, homestyle, diners. We came in for breakfast but we learned they also serve lunch until 2pm. I can't wait to stop in to try some lunch options. We were greeted when we entered and sat in the dining area. We had drink orders taken quickly and then our food order was taken when we received drinks. Our server was friendly and came to check on us once during our breakfast. We had a single pancake, fried potatoes, and an omelette with toast. Every last item was delicious! Everything was served hot and cooked nicely. We paid at the counter and noticed they also have bakery items for sale that looked great too. There's plenty of parking in their gravel lot. Easy to access. I wish there wasn't so many flies buzzing around inside while eating but it's summer time in the country so it's to be expected. We love going to Tammy Ds cafe. Everything here is always fresh and delicious. They bake all of their breads and buns in house. The daily soup is always a favorite of mine. After deciding to try something new and wander a little farther outside of our normal breakfast bubble, we had a very enjoyable meal at Tammy D's. It is a casual diner in all of the right ways. More seating than I expected from first look and a few wood tables outdoors for when the weather eventually turns nice once again. Service was A+ with all staff members masked and checking on us frequently with coffee 'warm ups' and making sure everything else was in order. We chose the biscuits and gravy with eggs and bacon and a veggie omelet with the country potatoes. Generous portions so we each had enough for a second snack at home. Coffee was excellent. Kudos to the chef for cooking the eggs (in both of our entrees) properly. So common to receive an omelet where the eggs are overcooked and my over easy eggs were beautifully runny. Prices seemed fair for the quality and quantity and I enjoyed seeing books and crayons for the little diners and other comfy touches. There are also grab-and-go bakery items (cinnamon rolls, cookies, loaves of bread) at the front. The biggest mystery was the "This mirror is not haunted" sign in the bathroom. I've never had so much filling in an omelette in my 82 yrs. I'm telling you it was the best one I've ever eaten. Service was spot on, that said we were the only ones in the restaurant for about 20 minutes. Ambiance, it's a restaurant in Mulino, but the place was spotless. Three years after moving out to Molalla, I finally decided to give Tammy D's in Mulino a try. Walking in you'll find baked items that you can easily pick up and take home. This includes cinnamon rolls and chocolate chip cookies. Going into the dining area, there's not much going on. You find a lowered false ceiling, while walls, and a gray and white checkered floor. However, what they lack for in ambiance, they make up for in their service and food. We had a great waitress, always bringing fresh hot coffee. Craving some French Toast, I decided to give there's a try. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this was brioche dipped in a custard batter. Not your traditional hash browns. The bacon was nice and think and cooked perfectly. You're not going to run into the see through uncooked bacon like you do a Denny's. Because I can't resist, I had to order a side of hash browns. These are fresh potatoes being shredded right in front of you as you walk in. No frozen potatoes here. These are not to be missed. Excellent! Found this small local place on our way to a day hike. Tammy herself greeted us and was absolutely sweet, helpful and friendly and the place was filled with local families sitting distanced but together inside, so we chose to sit at one of the two picnic tables outside on this absolutely perfect day. The eggs Benedict were perfect! I've been dying for a perfect Benny and Tammy D's delivered! The eggs were poached just so! Runny and cooked! The English muffin was substantial and toasted CRISPY under those runny eggs!! YES! OMG! YES! And the Hollandaise had just the right touch of lemon that did not overwhelm but enhanced. Thrilled! The ham thick and delicious. I would drive the 30 minutes back here just for their Benedicts! My husband had the JJ Sandwich and loved it! The roll was housemade jalapeño and he couldn't stop talking about the big sausage patty on it (choice of that or ham or bacon). My daughter is allergic so had the kielbasa skillet without eggs and enjoyed their homefried potatoes with the kielbasa so much she didn't mind not getting the eggs. The country omelette was fantastic! The eggs were perfectly fluffy and light. The filling was deliciously packed with potatoes and veggies. The country gravy was delectably thick and flavorful. It's obvious that the food is cooked with real skill and love. The French toast was cooked perfectly with no fancy frills or anything, but objectively good. We also tried the JJ breakfast sandwich, which was really good too. The fresh jalapeño bun and perfectly crispy bacon were the stars there. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very charming. Had an amazing fried chicken sandwich that we both decided was probably the best chicken sandwich we've ever had. Served by Tammy herself and she was quick and friendly. Get the cinnamon roll. You won't regret it. We took it to go. Tammy microwaved it for us and cut it up so we could eat while driving down the road. It was beyond heavenly. Great find! Happened to be right down the road from my nephew's place, and we needed a place to fill up on breakfast before fishing, and we found this diamond in the rough. So good that we came back the following week with more of the kids and the neighbor kids too. I went with the chicken fried steak omelette that came with two pancakes and my friend went with the chicken fried steak eggs Benedict. Both were delicious. The chicken fried steak had a nice crispy texture and the country gravy was very good. We went back the next day and i ordered the salmon eggs Benedict. Perfectly pouched eggs and holandaise sauce was on point. The salmon was moist and flavorfull as well. Good coffee and friendly wait staff. The biscuits & gravy are simply amazing -- the best I've ever had from a restaurant, actually. The sausage gravy has the perfect texture, with just a little spicy kick; and the biscuits are generously sized and very flavorful. My favorite detail is the fact that they cut the biscuits in half and grill one side of each half (I'm guessing in butter) -- it adds the perfect crunch. We've also had great experience with their pancakes, French toast, hash browns, breakfast sandwiches, eggs, etc, etc. My son really likes their burgers and fries, too.
