About $10 million and 4 years later, the Fifth Street Bridge re-opened and is now one of the best-looking and most functional bridges in Atlanta. The bridge spans over 16 lanes of interstate (Downtown Connector), but you would never know it if you were walking on the bridge. It's not as big as its brothers (17th St, 14th St, and 10th St.) and it doesn't have direct interstate access. There are two lanes for vehicular traffic, one turning lane, two bike lanes, and two sidewalks on either side. Each of the sidewalks is about 25 spacious feet wide and is made of brick and concrete. These wide sidewalks match the ones found at Tech Square and make Fifth Street Bridge very pedestrian-friendly. The best thing about the bridge is the enormous amount of green space -- about 3/4 of an acre's worth. There is plenty of grassy lawn which stretches down either side of the bridge and, combined with the lamp posts, it feels very much like a park. The south side of the bridge has modern-looking trellises which are covered in lush green vines. They look great and provide a measure of shade. Another cool aesthetic to the bridge are the multiple planters installed with a variety of trees, bushes, shrubbery, and flowers. The planters are multi-tiered and come in an assortment of sizes. The plants and tall planters not only make the space beautiful and inviting, but also serve to dampen out the highway noise below. The landscaping design looks clean and the grass is typically well-groomed and maintained. During football season, the Fifth Street Bridge is naturally a popular place for Tech fans to tailgate. Events have also been held on the bridge, such as the annual Taste of Atlanta outdoor food festival. During Taste of Atlanta, the bridge is shut down. Cooking classes are held on the north lawn. Restaurants set up multiple tents up and down the bridge, cooking food and offering tastings.

Back in my days at Tech (at least the early ones), Fifth Street Bridge was a little nothing of a…read morebridge with two lanes of traffic, sidewalks, and chain link fence on either side to keep you from jumping off or throwing garbage into the traffic below. It led to a desperate landscape of parking lots scattered with prostitutes and their discards amongst which Tech used to have an off-campus parking lot... I unfortunately clear memories of driving across the bridge early in the morning to head north on the interstate and being horrified at how readily the goods were advertised. And then came Tech Square. Sure, the bridge looked a little awkward with bare metal structures and fresh plantings. But at least sod and organized plantings weren't trash, and every little bit helped. Now the bridge led to so many student dining choices and scattered the shadiness a few blocks over. As I sat on the bridge on a home game Saturday, shaded by the vegetation that has finally matured, it was nearly impossible to know that there were 12 lanes of traffic below. I was reminded that Atlanta might not be perfect, but it's improving as the jasmine grows in.

Buying books is amazing, but supporting our local library system is even better. And lucky for all of us here in Atlanta, we have some fantastic libraries to choose from, no matter where you are across our counties. This local library is in East Atlanta and offers only a bit of parking, but there's never truly a struggle to find a spot. It's a small, but mighty location and offers a wide range of media options to choose from. There are 2 rooms that you can use for meetings/studying, a line of computers and multiple places to sit and read your books when you're visiting. It was so quiet, comfortable and chill in there, an easy place to get lost within the books and your imagination! I loved that there was a large children's area, full of books for the little ones and space for them to roam about. I'm aging myself because I was blown away by the self-checkout machines, lol. My last city library didn't have that and it was great to see them equipped with that new technology. It was hiccuping a bit when I was ready to checkout so I opted to go the old-fashioned route, but minutes later it was back up again. My only constructive criticism is wishing that there was an 24/7 dropbox. (Unless I'm missing it!) This is a lovely branch that really showcases how amazing the library system is here in Atlanta!

When I asked to see the written policy, the security guard was called and asked me to leave the library! The security guard and supervisor finally admitted there was no written policy, and the rule was to keep homeless because from washing in the bathroom. Clearly, I was not homeless, and they could have asked to see my library card, AND you can't enforce a made-up rule. The Mayor needs to fire them to see how they like being homeless! Can you say LAWSUIT!

I was a bit…read moresurprised that it didn't have more books, but as I made my rounds I found that it does contain a good, well-rounded selection, and with privileges to the full Fulton Public Library system, any book you want can be transferred in. That includes a good selection of e-books and audio books. This branch also has puzzles! You can check out puzzles! I'm looking forward to that for this winter! The facility itself is clean and well-lit. There are private rooms that can be booked, and there is plenty of public space to work or read. There was a good amount of FREE parking, and they have someone keeping an eye on it, so that it's not misused by the crowds who are in the area for restaurants.

He was extremely aggressive towards the class raising his voice and from time to time using unprofessional language (Curse words). When people had questions in the class he would once again raise his voice and say negative feedback belittling them and making them feel stupid for asking a question. This entire three hours class was Unbearable and I would NOT recommend him as a instructor to anyone. In all honesty I believe he needs to be reprimanded for his nasty and unprofessional behavior.

We have been working for over 1 year to get a business license for another business and this handled by a company in California. After over 25 attempts, they cash the check but continue to come back for more information that was already provided. They tell you one thing and a month later tell you just the opposite. The past three City Managers, do not followup when the promise to do so. After multiple visits to a grand City Hall where there are few workers, it is clear the staff is completely incompetent. They have all been nice but do not communicate and are harrassing business owners. It this from the top down?

Especially the Chinatown Food Court which is full of gems like a Chongqing and Tsingtao. It was built as a "new Chinatown", where the area is constructed before the Asians move in, as opposed to the older, natural Chinatowns which sprung up in a more organic way (to quite hipsters).
