One of our outlets in the living room has a window AC unit plugged into it while the other outlet has a surge protector with our entertainment system plugged in. Instead of plugging the vacuum into the surge protector, I made the wise decision to plug it into the AC outlet...while the AC was on. (Insert face palm here) The moment I turned the vacuum on, lights and entertainment system shuts off along with the REFRIGERATOR! It goes without saying that overloading your outlets during this pandemic is NOT the best scenario to find yourself in. I'm immediately panicking because this isn't my house! My boyfriend is doing his best to stay calm and help try to fix the problem...I'm frantically searching through Yelp while praying I can find someone who's even working during the pandemic. I submit a request for a quote and almost immediately received four responses; three with a decent amount of reviews and one with only two. You'd think the choice would have been easy...more reviews = better chance at a successful job. Yet, the response from Country Electric resonated best with me and decided I would give them the benefit of the doubt and request their service. After speaking with Matt, he was able to schedule me in for that same day!! Well, while at first we did schedule for him to come over, we decided to try a family friend first who's our go-to handy man. Matt was cool enough to understand and left his services open in case they are needed. After waiting almost four hours, Mr. Family Friend never shows. (Insert double face palm here) Luckily we have the refrigerator connected to an extension cord connected to one of the working outlets; still, this needs to get fixed now....I'm getting closer and closer to the dog house with each mishap. Like a dog with his tail tucked between his legs, I call Country Electric and ask for their help once more...they unfortunately weren't available for the rest of the day as the job they were now working on would take all their time. (Kill me here) However, they assured me they can head over first thing the following morning; I obviously agree. Fast forward to the morning. They arrive, with mask on which I truly appreciated, and immediately got to work. After conquering obstacles that I would have been baffled and fed up by, all of our outlets now work; we even got some great advice on which appliances may be taking up more electricity than we thought. Very professional, personable, affordable, and courteous service. I'm definitely keeping their info for future projects and repairs (hopefully never for the latter).
