Decent wing spot in Hayward. It was our first time trying out Fire Wings as our friends and family rave about this place. Came in on a calm Wednesday afternoon and was greeted by a girl who seemed like she hated her job. We wanted to try the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich but of course....they ran out of tenders. We ordered 2x10 pc wings Mango Habanero, Garlic Parmesan, Peking, and BBQ. The flavor was good on all but the garlic parmesan was not cooked properly and was almost pink on the side. We also got garlic and seasoned fries...garlic fries were soggy and drenched in oil, some overcooked some undercooked. Seasoned fries were delicious. Wanted to give this place a try after seeing all the different wing flavors and hearing good things about this place! We ordered take-out, fairly easy and straight forward. We got 3 different flavors - Saigon Street, Dragon, and Lemon Pepper, with a side of the Fire Fries. I love that this place has so many asian-inspired flavors; there are some pretty unique ones! My favorite was split between the Saigon Street and Dragon wings. They are fairly similar in taste, but the Saigon Street has a hint of fish sauce, very similar to the traditional Vietnamese nuoc mam-covered wings. Even though they're supposed to be "dry" wings, they're coated in sauce, so make sure you eat quickly or don't leave it too long in the box - otherwise, it'll get soggy. What I wasn't a fan of was the Fire Fries. It looked really good in pictures and tbh, I love all types of crazy combos of fries with a bunch of toppings. But this was just not it. The orange sauce is some sort of REALLY SPICY buffalo sauce with melted bleu cheese. Those two flavors were just so overpowering and didn't mesh well together. It also got really soggy underneath all the sauces. Overall, pretty happy with their wings. I really like the wings here. Only one I didn't care for was one of the Asian style ones but I already know I don't like wet wings. Still, it had an almost overwhelmingly strong flavor so if you might not be into that I would skip. So where do I begin? I order food here last week. I go to the restaurant at around 6:30p. The first thing I noticed was the music was SOOOO loud that it was difficult to hear the person at the register. It didn't help that the guy that was taking my order had an accent. As he was taking my order, he tells me that they're out of ranch and blue cheese dressing. Excuse me? No ranch and no blue cheese? Fine, so I still place my order and he asks for my number so they can text me when my order is ready. As I'm waiting, they leave the door wide open, which made the restaurant extremely cold. As I'm waiting, I see everyone who was a head of me getting their order. I didn't get a text, so I was a little concerned and asked him about my order. It seems like they had forgotten to make my food. Keep in mind, it's almost 7p and people are trying to walk in to place an order, but the guy at the register is telling customers that they're closed. What do you mean they're closed??? I check the store hours, and it looks like they're open until 10p. There was a constant flow of people walking in. Think about how much lost revenue they would've made if they stayed open? Finally my order is ready and I check the contents of my food. I usually order the garlic fries, which they usually sprinkle green onions on it but nope, there were none. Before I leave to take my food to go, they shut off the TVs and turn down the lights, but the horrible music is still being blasted out of the speakers. There never seems to be any consistency at this restaurant. The last time I was here, everything was perfect and so that's why I came back, but this time, I was very very disappointed. I thought yes , no more having to drive there San Mateo Location ! This new one is only a 5 minute drive from my house. Hayward was closer to me so here i am... Came in on an online order. Ordered at 7:20 and pick up was at 8:19. Arrived at 8:20 and order probably started but wasn't finished because when they finally gave me my food at 8:50. They failed to give me any of my sauces that was specified in the order. Arrived home and everything was cold. My fried zucchini soggy smelt of rancid oil & cold af. My seasoned fries were regular plain & cold. My garlic noodles luke warm. My wings although were good & was a bit warmer then the rest of the food. Which tells me they made everything else and forgot about the order till I came in. I liked that one of the servers were wiping everything down and wearing her mask. Ppl in the kitchen failed to follow procedures to keep masks on. There's no problem with talking and joking with each other but wear your masks. It prevents contamination through your breathe and spit when talking or laughing. I would not recommend this establishment due to workers disrespecting and failing to understanding why these protocol for masks are in affect. We tried to call in our order thinking that would be the smart play even though it was 6:30 on a Sunday night. However, after being put on hold and eventually giving up at the 10 minute mark, we went to the location to get food. It did not seem busy at all, so why the wait? You can see into the kitchen and it was quite obvious that the staff was distracted. What's amazing is that once a particular employee left, the staff focused on work and food began to come out at a quicker rate. The food was good and the customer facing staff was friendly and supportive of the parties standing around waiting for food.
