I got to FireBrew and was pleased that it wasn't super busy. The lovely ladies working were super friendly and got me seated in a booth. My sister and I celebrated restaurant week enjoying a chance to try out their food. Regan helped us and she is superb. I tried the perogis and the mushroom onion burger. The perogis are fantastic, the burger was tasty and perfectly cooked. Honestly the only part of my meal that wasn't delightful were the potato wedges, they were hot and soft but not crisp. I was slightly disappointed by the fact that they weren't nicely crisp. My sister got the bacon wrapped BBQ shrimp which were quite tasty. I will definitely be back.

My husband and I visited during VB Restaurants week and we were really impressed with the special menu options, so we had to give them a try. We started with the She Crab and the Potato and Cheese soups; the She Crab had plenty of real crab, but the Potato and Cheese ended up being our favorite. For our second course, we shared the Crab Dip and Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp-both were so good we'd absolutely order them again. For our third course, we had the Bison Meatloaf and the Lemon Caper Parrotfish, and both dishes were delicious and really well prepared. There was so much food that we couldn't finish and took the rest home, and it was just as tasty the second day after reheating (definitely ask your server for reheating tips!). The staff was fantastic-Always checking on us to ensure everything was perfect. Even when our server was tied up, another team member promptly stepped in to follow up. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely come back to try more items on the menu.

What a cozy, upscale gem! Walking in, you're greeted by a hostess & the beautiful display of decor. The location is on the smaller side, but feels accommodating to larger party sizes. The parking is open and ample. Let me say, the rewards are worth signing up for! Firebrew has wine on tap which I thought was pretty cool. You could come in dressed to the 9 or in sweats and they'd treat you the exact same, full focus prized on you & making your experience there special. Now the good, good! The FOOD! Impeccable. When I say yum with every bite, I mean- jaw dropped open, felt it through my entire body, YUM! I'll say, I'm never overly impressed with food. But this place, hats off to the chef! The Mac and cheese is gooey, creamy and generous in portion size. The sandwich I got is a delicious fancy grilled cheese hugged with cranberry bread which may sound a little odd at first but it gave a gentle sweetness to every crunchy bite. My mouth is watering while writing this review. Also listed was the risotto I had paired with the grilled cheese on another visit (it was so good, I got the grilled cheese twice in a row) which was also delicious & comforting to be paired with! My friend & I split the flight, of in house fruity mimosas, truly, not my favourite option here- but still yummy! She also got the steak with mashed potatoes and corn, a classic that she said was decadent & dreamy! If you haven't visited Firebrew, go now, thank me later!

We had dinner recently at FIREBREW Bar & Grill located at 1253 Nimmo Parkway in the heart of Virginia Beach. They have a great menu lineup and the service is great. We sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender. Our food came out quickly. We had a great experience here!

Firebrew Bar & Grill is located in the Red Mill Landing Shopping Center. They are near the corner of General Booth Blvd. and Nimmo Pkwy. You can enter the shopping center from Nimmo Pkwy at the first right after the intersection. There is an apartment complex behind them and CVS is next door to the shopping center. My most recent visit here was on December 24, 2024. Parking can be a bit dicey in the shopping center. Most of the parking spaces near the restaurant are for compact cars only. I don't see many compact cars out there (my car happens to be compact), and those with the bigger vehicles park there anyways. Each one of those vehicles takes up at least two parking spots, and in some cases. four parking spaces. There are non-compact parking spaces further back, so those larger vehicles should park there instead. Every time I have been here, the restaurant has been well maintained, both inside and outside. They do have outdoor seating, but it does become heated covered seating during the winter season. When I come in, I usually ask for Hannah. She's been our server several times here and we have had a good connection when it comes to eating here. She knows what I usually get when I visit, though I do change things up a bit at times. As for the menu, they have quite the drink menu, as well as a wine bar. The food menu is changeable. There are several items, usually those on the Seasonal Delights portion of the menu, that will change with the seasons. I had a birthday coupon, so that's what brought me in on this latest visit. I've always had great experiences each time I have been here. I just hadn't been in for a while, along with other places as I was getting some medical issues in order. Now that I have that under control, I have been able to get back into visiting different places again. I also had a free appetizer coupon for purchasing a gift card recently. Within the past year or so, they changed their rewards program so that it's not something just through Messenger now. The new rewards program has a similar setup to many other places where you earn points for purchases and can get a coupon after reaching a certain point threshold. Since this was during my birthday month, I had some foods that I normally don't eat, as I have been in diabetic remission for about 18 months and counting. With the free appetizer, I went with the soft pretzels. I only did water for a drink. When it came time to order, I went with the Full Rack of BBQ Baby Back Pork Ribs. They didn't have green beans as an option on this visit, so I went with the baked potato wedges instead. My mom went with the Creamy Potato Soup (soup of the day) and the Potato & Cheddar Pierogis appetizer. Shortly after ordering the entrées, the soft pretzels with beer cheese dip came out to the table. Those pretzels were soft and fulfilling. The beer cheese dip was a great complement to the pretzels. Did the pretzels spike my blood sugar? Yes, but it was so good. The main courses came out pretty quickly. I hadn't even finished the pretzels yet when they came out. They have always been fast though in my experiences. The ribs looked really good and it was time to eat. The ribs were fall off the bone good. This is one of my favorite entrée items here. The baked potato wedges were really good too. My mom loved the soup and the appetizer she got as the entrée. I did not go for any desserts though. Overall, this has been another great experience here. The food and service have been on point. Make sure to join their rewards program if you haven't done so already. If you're looking for a nice local place for lunch or dinner, this place is worth checking out.

My wife and I have been there for lunch and dinner several times I've had just about everything on their menu and love just about everything a few that I don't care for personal taste they have three salmon dishes that are absolutely phenomenal they also have pizzas and flatbreads and extensive bar and a wine selection that just Rivals almost anybody.

Great service on the patio. It was my pup and I and we both enjoyed the chicken sandwich and fries. Fries were amazing. Sandwich was huge and will be lunch tomorrow! Delicious

Stopped in again to try Firebrew again. We started off with steakbites and the cranberry bread. The steakbites were cooked very well and quite tasty. The cranberry bread was very good, but the oil and balsamic really didn't go well with it. If this was served with sweet cream butter with flake salt it would be awesome! My son had the steak salad which was very good and my wife and daughter had the bacon wrapped shrimp. They both enjoyed their meal. I had the bourbon pork chop which was quite flavorful but was very over cooked. Again, the star of this meal was Aaliyah. She was extremely personable and friendly all while training a new member of the Firebrew team. She was knowledgeable of the menu and had great suggestions for wine and food. I'm not sure where the owner is getting the staff from, but they are wonderful!

Firebrew bar and grill was great. Came during there lunch hours andnthey have a pretty good special where 2 can eat for 15 each. The food selction was really good as well. This is my first time here and i choose to get the kal pesto chicken flatbred pizza in which i thought was delicious. Before the main course i had an appetizer pretzelnwhichbwas also delicious. The course inteciever included a garden salad with a basamic vingerette. The vingertte was flavorful. In addition to my i had the firebrew old fashioned. Which very well made and constructed cocktail. Not as strong as i am use to but good. Finally, calped off with a littl desert. Which was coolie dough ice cream and cheesecake with raspberry drizzle. All very delicious. The waitres was ver attentive and nice delivered everything expdiently. Only reason the rating was not higher was due to under cooked chicken that was delivered to the table. They rectified the matter by cooking a new batch to go. I would definitely give them another try and see if we can bump that rating up. But overall. Goodbjob.

It was a beautiful evening. Our server was Lauryn, and she was great. She was nice and attentive but not worrisome. We had the Wisconsin Cheese Curds along with the house made Sangria. As an entree, I had the whiskey burger with truffle fries. I really liked the cheese curds; they're a lot flavorful than traditional mozzarella sticks. The house made sangria was really good too! We had to stop ourselves from just sucking it down. The burger is where I had the issue. It was a little on the dry side.... Too well done despite asking for medium. It also wasn't seasoned well. The only flavor rally came from the bbq sauce and onion straws. The truffle fries were good though. The menu said they won't best burger of Virginia Beach, and that was made me get a burger. Not the best burger I've ever had. Next time, I will try the pizza and probably go to the Shore drive location since that is closer to my house. We got there a little earlier in the evening, arriving around 5:30PM on a Tuesday night and the place was packed! We were still able to score a seat along the windows overlooking the creek. This entire place was so busy and there was so many staff too - Hard to believe from looking at the small ranch of a house that the restaurant is housed in. Lots of families here too. Their menu is quite nice with many options. We started with their blackened tuna bites, which came out as a big blackened tuna steak that had slices in it, but was still "assembled" on the plate. The wasabi dipping sauce it came with was outstanding and so very spicy! The tuna itself didn't look very appealing at all, but WOW, the flavor was great! And when dipped into the wasabi sauce, the combo of both was so good! Out entrées were the imperial mahi - which I asked for them to blacken my mahi. This dish is basically a mahi filet with a crab cake on top and then the entire thing is smothered in the she crab soup - it was so very flavorful! The she crab soup was really good by itself, but the crab cake mixed with it tasted great! The blackened mahi was really tasty too. I tried their broccoli as a side and had very low expectations for it, but WOW, that broccoli was outstanding! So fresh and flavorful! This location was extremely busy and packed when I visited, and honestly, that's usually a good sign...when a place stays that busy, clearly something is going right. What really stood out to me, though, was Colton. He went well beyond what I would normally expect from someone working the host/to-go area. He personally made sure my steak was exactly how I wanted it and genuinely seemed concerned about whether I was happy with my order. That type of customer service deserves recognition. He knows how to take care of customers, and in my opinion, he deserves a raise! I do think there is an opportunity for improvement when it comes to management. There was a manager positioned at the front during my visit, and while I obviously don't know her personally or whether she is generally a nice person, her disposition toward customers did not come across as particularly friendly or welcoming. More importantly, I noticed a clear difference in how warmly she interacted with certain customers versus others. When you're in a management position, customers should feel like they're receiving the same level of courtesy and hospitality across the board..you shouldn't pick and choose who gets the friendly version of you. It was especially noticeable because she remained at the front for much of the time, closely overseeing the hosts, so those of us waiting on to-go orders could clearly observe the differences in her interactions with different patrons. If you're going to be that visible and hands-on with your staff, I think it's even more important to model the same customer service you expect from them. Thankfully, Colton did exactly that. Despite how packed and hectic the restaurant was, he remained attentive, personable, and genuinely cared about making sure I left satisfied. Colton was absolutely amazing and was easily the standout of my experience. Management should recognize him because employees who care about customers like that are a huge part of why people come back.

Although we sat outside (because we were dining with a dog), we never had to wait too long for the waitress to check on us. Every 5-10 minutes, she dropped by to make sure things were going well and to refill our coffee. Since The Egg Bistro has a HUGE breakfast menu, I'm sure everyone should be able to find something that they will/might enjoy. For my dining pleasure, I tried something new and went with the Bennie & the Grits. This dish piqued my interest because I never heard of grits cakes in the four decades of living on this planet. For about 20 bucks, the dish included three fried grit cakes with ground sausage, grilled shrimp, more sausage, two poached eggs and a side. Although the serving size was HUGE, I was not a bit fan of the dish. Note, I didn't think the dish was prepared badly, I just didn't get the concept of the fried grits (this from a grits lover); however, everything else with the dish was pretty good. If you are a Bloody Mary lover, you might some interesting varieties of Bloody Marys here. Additionally, I really appreciated that The Egg Bistro ranks the Bloody Marys based on spice level. Overall, I definitely would not mind visiting this location during a future trip to Va Beach. The only (very) minor issue that I had was that the outdoor seating is right next to the parking lot so you might experience some exhaust fumes/smoke while eating if you chose to dine outside. Again, this would not have been a (very) minor issue if we were not dining with a dog.

We were promptly seated shortly before the opening hours much to our delight. Parking is plentiful…read moreoutside and free. The service here was attentive, prompt, and efficient. The food arrived pretty quickly. I ordered the veggie lovers omelette without the mushrooms and w/ biscuits and potatoes. Everything tasted fresh and not too greasy. I thought the addition of avocados without the upcharge was nice. Too bad they didn't have marmalade for jelly choices but if that's the only complaint I have, I'd say it's pretty good. I wouldn't mind returning again in the future thanks to the nice service and decent food with good portions and pricing.

I first visited Blue Seafood & Spirits over 10 years ago when they were brand new for a Yelp Elite…read moreTasting Event, and this was my first time back for a full meal. I had high expectations, and somehow they still exceeded them. They're the highest rated seafood restaurant in the Virginia Beach area on Yelp, and for good reason. There was even a small wait on a Wednesday night, which honestly told me everything I needed to know before we even sat down. Our server, Jenny, was absolutely wonderful. She was friendly, attentive, and always seemed to show up right when we needed something. The head chef also stopped by our table and was incredibly kind and genuinely invested in making sure everyone was enjoying their meal. That level of hospitality really made the experience feel special. The meal started with a complimentary amuse-bouche of roasted golden beets, goat cheese, candied walnuts, and balsamic. It was a classy little bite that got the evening off to a great start. Then came the sweet potato biscuits with apricot jam...listen, I could've eaten an entire basket of those and been perfectly happy. For my entrée, I ordered the crab cakes with garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. These are the kind of crab cakes people are looking for. They were packed with lump crab, full of flavor, and had virtually no filler. Every bite was delicious. From start to finish, everything was on point. Great food, genuine hospitality, and a team that clearly cares about what they're serving. It took me over a decade to make it back, but I can promise it won't be another ten years before my next visit. Highly recommend.

The service was top notch from the moment we walked in the door until we stepped outside. They were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed and even double checked to be sure what I ordered was gluten free. I ordered the Twisted Salmon Oscar (from the menu; Baked Atlantic salmon smothered in asparagus, lump crab meat, and dill-lime hollandaise sauce). It was sooooo good. I don't usually eat much but I ate way too much today! Larry enjoyed the Fresh seafood Combination with blackened flounder (from the menu; Fresh catch, sea scallops, and lump crab cake: broiled, fried, or blackened). He also ordered the Fried Eastern Shore Oysters (from the menu: Perfectly breaded, flash fried crispy, and served with our barrier island sauce) as an appetizer and said both were delicious. all of the food came out so quick and were perfectly cooked. While we waited we enjoyed drinks from the bar and they even brought out a small bit of poke, even making sure it was gluten free for me! And lets not forget desert. I enjoyed the creme brulee and Larry enjoyed the key lime pie. We probably shouldn't have had desert but how could we say no! The atmosphere is cozy and intimate. Perfect for a date night. We will most definitely be back!
